We stayed at the Augustinenhof during low season (feb) so we hardly saw any other guests. That didn't bother us one bit! The staff were very nice, they changed our room so we could have wifi, they turned on the sauna for us when we got "home" from a cold day in Berlin (highly recommended) and they were very friendly! We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because of the price (12 euro / person) but there were plenty of früchstück-places nearby. The only negative thing was the old tv and the lack of channels other than german. But who spends their days in front of the tv when in Berlin?! We would definetely stay at the Augustinenhof again!

Ett trevligt och prisvärt hotell som visserligen låg en bit bortanför centrum men nära bra kommunikationer. Vänlig personal som tog hänsyn till alla våra önskemål. Stora rum med bra sängar, tyst och rent. Vi hade problem med laddaren till en mobiltelefon, men personalen hjälpte till att lösa svårigheterna på ett bra sätt. "Great location and very clean"
Our room was facing the inside of the shopping centre which meant no fresh air could come into the room this meant at night especially the air was very warm and dry. The first nights sleep was quite uncomfortable as the thermostat was also set at 30 which we didn't realise till the second day. "expected for the price"
We booked last minute for what is a bank holiday weekend in Germany, therefore Berlin was all booked. For the price its what you expect. Our room was sparse but clean. It overlooked the side street above the entrance but it wasn't too loud. Lots of shops & restaurants around the hotel - especially in the atrium. We had pizza at the Italian & i recommend. We really enjoyed our stay at the Acadia hotel. It was very easy to get to from the airport and very easy to get into the city centre with the metro station right outside. "Did not receive half of what was promised"
We were disappointed when we arrived at the hotel to find the following that were meant to be included with our room not there: NO in room safe, NO working air conditioning, NO minibar, NO satelite tv, NO working wifi in rooms, NO complimentary toiletries, NO working computer on reception floor. "Not a great location."
The hotel is clean and is a great price, but ultimately I wouldn't stay there again because of location. A lot of previous reviews said the location was good, so I was surprised by how far away it felt from everything. It took about 2 different trains to get us downtown (by Brandenburg Gate), and took at least 45 minutes. I wish we would have paid more […] money to just be in the heart of everything. Most hotel employees were really helpful and knowledgable about the best way to get to sites, but there's one employee who just moved to Berlin, so she doesn't know the best way to get anywhere, which was frustrating. "Close to underground station."
Very comfortable bed and cover but the pillows were awful, had to ask for extra. No plug in the bath and couldn't get one from reception as receptionist said housekeeping was not available. Staff were very helpful and friendly with all enquiry both during and prior to the stay. The staff also spoke very good English. Bags could be stored prior to check in which was a very useful service. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels replaced, with the rooms kept very tidy and clean. "Clean, Comfortable Stay"
Good hotel with a very accommodating staff. The hotel was not in a very convenient location, but it was only 5 U-bahn stops from Alexanderplatz. There were not many restaurants around except for the few in the little mall next door. "About the Arcadia Complex."
Great staff, very friendly and helpful with perfect English. I would have liked to have had a kettle available in the room, with some tea and coffee, but nothing was provided. Connected to the hotel is an indoor plaza with 2 beautiful restaurants (Thai & Italian), a traditional German pub, a cafe and a couple of shops. The roof is made of glass, so […] you are able to get that feeling of being outdoors while avoiding the rain! Located on Frankfurter Allee - which also has some nice restaurants, cocktail bars and cafes - it is necessary to take the Metro to Alexanderplatz to reach the city centre (about 6 stops away). We really enjoyed our stay at the Arcadia Hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is within a few minutes walk of the U-bahn station and makes it an ideal base for exploring Berlin. "Very nice hotel with transport links nearby."

"Nice and clean hotel at exellent location"
Location is excellent, you can to the hotel from airport by public transportation easily and U5 takes you to city center in 7-8 minutues. The train comes every 5-9 minutes. The hotel itself is spacious even by US standard in suburbs, the bathroom is big and clean. There are tons of shops and restaurants around. There is a huge shopping mall at the […] ring center which is 5 minutes walk to the east. There is a pasrty shop, it is called Bacca something at the U5 entrance which sells excellent pastries, muffin, donuts and all kinds of breads at unbelievable prices. "Do not recommend, poor service and poorly equipped"
Mediocre. Got a static shock from everything I ever touched. Room was fairly badly appointed. Two single duvets instead of one double duvet - on a double bed. Terrible pillows. Overlooking a shopping centre = no fresh air at all. On the Saturday night, as we got ready to go out, the power went off. We went downstairs to reception, to be told by a smirking […] clerk, 'I know the power's off, I turned it off'. No explanation, nothing. Ridiculous. For the money, this hotel is poor value. I wish I had chosen one of the cheaper hotels locally with more character - at least I wouldn't feel that I'd been ripped off. We didn't even get breakfast included. The bar was tiny and overpriced. Not the highest standard, the interior is a bit old etc. But the bathrooms were new and if you can get a good price, I can definitely recommend this hotel as it is situatuated very close to U-Bahn Samariterstrasse and the cozy area around Boxhagener Strasse. "Arcadia Hotel Berlin - Quiet hotel, great location"
We stayed here Friday-Sunday in October 2011 on a leisurely weekend, needing to get away from busy London. Staff are very friendly & helpful, room was basic but very clean and extremely quiet, with very comfy new beds. The hotel is on Frankfurter Allee, only one block away from the metro, and 50 minutes door-to-door from Schoenefeld Airport. Easy to […] get everywhere by trains, or you can walk: we walked back from the East Side Gallery in half hour. In the immediate neighbourhood to the hotel (opposite & right from the entrance) there are several lovely bakeries/cafes, Kebab places, Thai & Sushi places, and a marvellous local steak house with Kenguru steaks at €8!! "Would recommend, but..."
Given the location and the general price levels in Berlin, this hotel is a decent choice. The hotel is located a few meters away from the U5 underground station and in walking distance to the nightlife area of Friedrichshein. There are little shops and bakeries right outside the hotel and a shopping mall with a good supermarket a block away. However, […] it is an extremely basic hotel. The rooms do not have fridges, nor a tea kettle or coffee maker, the TV does not have one single channel in English (no BBC or CNN). While wi-fi is available it costs a fortune, and breakfast is not included in the room rate and they charge 14 euros for it. Cleanliness was not a problem and it is definitely a cheaper option in the area of Berlin. We also want to note that we would stay there again. You just need to be prepared when you stay there.
