Hotell THE RED LION INN - Stockbridge

Its the Red Lion Inn. Its iconic and you get 150% of the atmosphere and charm you pay for. Excellent room, cozy and clean, (I was sure to book 1 with its own bath) and loved how every inch of the Inn oozed history (but free WiFi!) If the walls could talk. The hotel has several eating and drinking options, the lobby fireplace and rocking chairs on the […] porch are heard to resist but its a great base for exploring local art museums (Rockwell, MOCA, etc), Lenox, and beautiful drives. A stay at The Red Lion Inn takes you back to 18th and 19th Century America. It hasn't changed much. Canopied beds, floral wallpaper, and antique furniture, china and knickknacks galore filling corridors, cabinets, beams and shelves. Country Curtains not only has a store there they clearly outfitted the entire building. The dining room is charming, the […] white tablecloths, twinkling candles and liveried (it's more than a uniform) staff are sweet and "old school" trained which reminds one how bad service is elsewhere. Breakfasts are huge (although the "everything at once" food delivery was annoying for those of us who eat porridge first and like their eggs hot). Dinner was delicious, memorable and romantic. Live music nightly 'til midnight in the Lion's Den was fun. Eating lunch in the garden was lovely. The pool (highly chlorinated - don't take your best suit) was a relaxing place to hang out with a good book. Although your web search might mention a "spa" this is not accurate - there isn't one. Perfect locationasa base for exploring the area and a charming hotel in terms of rooms and decor. Staff however were a little on the self satisfied side - not very responsive and doing just enough to stay on the polite side of the line. Food in both the dining room and the outside court is unremarkable and lives off its reputation.

Splendid Hotel and good that its ambience has been treasured. Good meal in the evening but we decided to have breakfast elsewhere as the a la carte pricing would have quickly become exorbitant

The hotel is expensive for what it is. Situated on a very busy main road, the historic hotel has lots of artefacts. This was one of the most expensive hotels we booked on a 2 week tour of New England and our least pleasant experience. This is an incredible hotel and a must if you are staying overnight in the Birkshires. I just returned from a lovely 2 night stay in September so just in time to see the start of fall folliage. The hotel dates back to 1771 and has been beautifully preserved. It is absolutely packed with interesting antiques, and has the most incedible bird-cage elevator […] which is original to the building. Also, a spectacular front porch with numerous rocking chairs, in which to just sit and watch the world go by. Aside from the lovely building it is also a notable property in that 4 presidents have stayed at the Red Lion and it is featured in at least 2 Norman Rockwell paintings. The staff were friendly and the rooms had tons of country charm. Beds were very comfortable with lovely cotton sheets, down comforter and lovely handmade bedspreads. We did enjoy the dinner and the night at Red Lion Inn. For us from the West Coast, it was definitely a different ambiance but we enjoyed every moment of it. Too bad we had to keep moving on!

2 star hotel at best. Antiquated rooms with the sink in the room, not the bathroom. room was noisy and small. Not a good price value relationship. Would not stay there again.

もともと大きな町ではないので、利便性は求めるのが無理。　とにかく古さを楽しむところ。　170歳のエレベーター、傾いてウグイス廊下のようにきしむ廊下、這い上がらないと座れない高いベッドなど楽しい話題が満載。　但し、一晩中どこかでギシギシ音がするのでその程度の覚悟は必要。
