This hotel should not be opened for business! It is located in a horrible place and the hotel is under construction. I pre-paid for two rooms. When I arrived the front desk lady rudely argued with me that I only had one room even when I showed her my detailed printout. The carpet was dirty and dingy, the comforters on the beds had stains on them, and the air conditioning vent kept falling off. In addition, I was unable to connect to the WiFi and when I requested assistance, was only provided with the password over and over again (WIFI did work in the lobby, however). The hotel was undergoing construction on the floor […] above us, so we were awakened each morning with heavy pounding and shaking; at times it felt like something was going to fall through the ceiling! We couldn't even have a conversation with all of the noise. The continental breakfast was also lacking as there was hardly any protein, if any; the meat was sliced bologna, and the pastry did not taste fresh. For more than half of our stay, we had to request an extra towel to substitute for the bath mat that was not placed in our bathroom (this was the best room in the quarters), and the front desk was not very helpful with resolving this issue. The only positive feedback I have is regarding two of the hotel's maids who were very sweet and tried to be as helpful as possible despite the conditions. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Couch was impossible to sit on for the bars beneath the covering. No hot water in the shower. Construction going on during the day. Clean, however. Suited the purpose.

Room was clean but carpet has seen better days. Good location two blocks from Via España. Wifi reception spotty. Nice pool on the terrace. Great Panamanian restaurant (Manolo) one block away. Fresh fruit for breakfast available. Convenient hotel for the rates offered.

I enjoyed my stay at the Suites Ambassador and returned to stay another night on my way back from a family reunion. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, modern, and comfortable. The receptionists are reliable and helpful. If I could improve one thing about this hotel it would be to expand breakfast options to include more substantive foods (i.e. eggs, […] a greater variety of fruit, etc.). There is no sort of sound proofing in the rooms and you hear every vehicle that past and every step in the hallway. On our last night, there were guests in the connecting room next to us and it was a nightmare because all of the sounds were heard in our room. The cleanliness of the street is deplorable. Garbage and raw sewerage running on the side walk. The Panama government should do a better sanitation job in a tourist area. The black and white bedspread isn't too bad, but the compliments could have been a little friendlier. Most of the previous reviewers described it well; the room is very dark due to the black shades on the windows and very dim lighting. And, you really don't want those blinds open, or you are looking into the rooms of the hotel next door about 10 feet away! The staff was friendly and helpful, but very limited English. My Spanish is not so great, but […] we all muddled through. The bed was very comfortable; the best sleep we got most of our trip. The mattress is one of those Temperpedic types, not just a topper. More pillows would have been nice, as theirs were pretty flat. Free wi-fi worked most of the time. Unusual, but wonderful, and the speed wasn't bad. The neighborhood looks a little scary, but I had my big strong husband with me. Had I been alone or with lady friends, this would not have been a good neighborhood. Breakfast buffet was very limited, so we walked half a block up the street to Manolo's every morning for a great breakfast at a great price. Suites Ambassador would be a great value for a long term stay. For a vacation and luxury for just $20 more a night, I would go to Hotel El Panama about a block away. Läs mer

This hotel needs to change its decor badly. It is very dark, and has black vinyl shades that in most rooms need to remain closed at all times unless you want neighbors looking in. Also because of its proximity to the Veneto casino and the incredible high level of prostitution that surrounds the area, I don't recommend this hotel for kids. I have never […] seen anything like it. This however does not make the area unsafe as there are many police officers around the area... Staff was nice and friendly, rooms big, beds comfortable. Breakfast ok but room very tiny with only 4 tables. Other than that, it is centrally located with many stores and restaurants around the area. The room is big, comfortable and clean. The furniture (including TV and freezer) is modern and new. The neightborhood is not a great thing, but the location is very convenient if you need to stay in the financal services area. And the price is well balanced with the services and quality.

My friends and I stayed at the suites ambassador for 3 days in Panama. The location is decent and pretty central, but most of the hotel staff do not speak English, which can cause some problems. We reserved 3 rooms at the hotel, each was clean and had a good layout. The Ambassador was just what we needed for our 5 day stay in Panama City. Central location, easy to get to, good restaurants nearby. Continental breakfast was a good way to start the day. All staff friendly but only found one that spoke really good english. I think the single bed was just a box spring without the mattress...good thing there was a futon […] to sleep on. The bedroom was large and the bathroom was nicely done. Kitchenette was just a small fridge and a microwave. No 'view' from the room except the building next to it but the roof top view of the city was good. Roof top pool was refreshing after a long hot day of sightseeing. Nice all around. not big, but fair priced. front desk is helpful. knowing spanish a plus. very difficult to find. best to take a taxi from airport. streets in Panama don't have signs. nice resturants are close in walking distance around block. no problem for us walking at night.

It took more than an hour driving around Panama City to find the hotel, of the 10 people we asked, only 1 had ever heard of it and could direct us to the hotel. The staff was courteous; the included breakfast was decent; the bathroom was gorgeous and the room was quite large with a separate area for a mini-kitchen. Messages left at front desk were not delivered and several customers complainded they called the hotel to contact me but no one (switchboard or front desk) answered the calls. The rooms are very clean and spacious and the bed is confrontable.

I like this location, the block is safe and quiet but you have casinos, restaurants and all just 1/2 block away. I think the breakfast could be improved a bit but is not bad. Some of my favorite restaurants are very close to this hotel and just walking distance (like Matsuei and pomodoro). Staff was friendlier than other hotels where i have stayed.

The hotel was adequate for a place to stay. There is a laundry room that you can use but it is hot. The rooms do no have great views. The one that we occupied had black curtains over the windows which is just as well since all we could see was the building next door. They have charges for all the toiletries (soap, shampoos, etc). I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Panama for a few days and needing an efficiency accommodation with access to a fridge, microwave and oven. I have stayed at many hotels around the world and this is the only one that left a bad taste in my mouth. The main reason we chose this hotel is because they claimed to have fast wireless Internet, which we needed to make reservations. Well, the internet didn't work - the signal was so weak that we couldn't even connect. The hotel's rooms are dark and […] gloomy with windows facing a wall and covered with a black screen, giving a feeling of a prison cell. The building is old and the old ACs are hard to regulate. The windows are single pane and let all the street noise in. The breakfast is dismal. Front desk staff is rude and defensive instead of helpful. Overall, this hotel is a rip-off. You can find a much better place to stay in El Cangrejo (even on the same Calle D!) for the same or lesser price (which is what we did eventually). Läs mer

The central location in El Cangrejo was perfect for us, near numerous restaurants and bars and well-positioned for taxis to old town and Albrook airport. We are 2 guys, 35 and 45, travelling for a year. Wanted a little quiet time in Panama City (9 nights in Nov 2010) after 3 weeks in Cuba. Ambassador Suites was fine. Kitchen (though no pots, pans, toaster - just a microwave and fridge and utensils), large seperate living room, and large bedroom with king bed. Quiet. Extremely central. Use 'powergym' […] down the road, don't expect anything from the hotel gym. Some of the staff are bored, some are great. Breakfast was ok, but minimal. Good cheap breakfast in surrounding cafes. Very clean, seems almost out of place for the location. I've stayed in better locations in the city, this isn't the nicest, but for the price I think it's a bargain. The rooms are very nice, the only issue is of course, the view if you have a side facing room. If you don't mind covering the view, then this won't be an issue for you.

Bien,solo que aun esta en reparaciones,como cuando lo lei hace 6 mese,no dispone de areas comunes(piscina,terraza)para al menos sentrte y ver el sol,la piscina minima y no esa en uso...ah y el desayuno pesimo al menos habia sitios cercas donde comer.si,la hab muy bien,limpia amplia,muy bien.Es un hotel para llegar a las 6 de la tarde y dormir.
