There is no perfect hotel/motel... it was priced right for our budget and was right where we wanted to be... Good enough! If I wanted a 5* hotel I would have found one...

My room was small and comfortable. The room was immaculately clean, and it appeared that the room had been remodeled in the recent past. I like how close it is to my son's home and the staff are incredibly friendly. The neighborhood is not the most desirable, but the staffing more than makes up for that. The people who stay there are mixed - many from the local base. Ordinarily I would not select a super 8 or similar motels, but this one is the exception.

The location is convenient to the freeway but kind a crummy area. The room had two queens that were hard as rocks, wimpy pillows, and the room felt super crowded. the style of the room was okay. It's like they were trying to make it nice. it's pretty clean, and the fridge, microwave, and safe were nice, granite shower walls were nice. it was just very […] tight living for 3 days with my wife and two kids. breakfast would've been okay if it was just one day but for three days nothing but the same sliced up chocolate chocolate chip muffins, bread/toast, danishes, and cereal got old quickly. our towels looked stained, so someone wasn't very careful in inspecting them. had what looked like some rust stains on them. their ice machine is broken (it seems like permanently) so you can only get whatever ice they have at the front desk, which runs out early in the day. lastly, I don't know what religion the owner is but over the front door leaving the office there is a horseshoe, and a swastika. I know in ancient Egypt it was a symbol of good luck (which is why Hitler adopted it), but today, it can offend and probably drive away customers. I have a photo of it I can post too. the owner may consider taking it down as it is known as a symbol of hatred here in the US. Läs mer

I picked this hotel because it is very close to the Naval Base where I'm currently processing out of the Navy for retirement. The staff is very helpful and courteous! There were nights when some of the guests were noisy but that comes with the territory. Over-all I rate this a very pleasing hotel with plusses. The room was very simple and acceptable, although I was placed in a smoking room, despite my reservation. I could never get the wi-fi to work. It was also a rougher area than I had expected, I heard a couple men speaking loudly outside my door late at night, and several gangs were mentioned. I would not recommend this hotel for a single woman.

My stay was very enjoyable, from a transportation standpoint,thanks to the MTS,which I enjoyed using.On the other hand I was charged $15.00 for the safe in the room, which I did not need or use, and would like to be reimbursed. Thank You.

nice people, really nice bed, could of been a new one. I slept better than a baby. real firm mattress. only complaint I had was the mold on the shower curtain, it was cleaned that day. The maid came in every day but did not run the vacuum till I left. I put things on the floor to test them, they were there the whole 7 days. Upon arrival, the front desk clerk asked for my cc for incidentals. I gave it to her and she then proceeded to charge me $69.00. She then gave me a the charge slip to sign. I said, wait the room is prepaid. She said this was a room deposit. ??What?? I have never been charged a room deposit. I was unclear as to what the room deposit was so I asked. She […] said "what if you were to tear up the room?" Ok, I thought that is why you swiped my cc? She said no. The assured me that it would be refunded at the end of my stay, so it was but what a weird policy. She did offer to cancel my reservation if I did not want to pay the $69, which I took as a threat. I mean I had this reservation done for over a week and were in from Texas. How the heck was I going to find a room the day of? Very unpleasant stay. The breakfast was short of continental, and we had to ask for more towels every day. You would have thought they would have got the hint after the first day. The towels were thin terry cloth that could have been what they washed their cars with. The ice machine was out do we had to go to the office and ask for ice and when we did, they looked put out with the request. If I were you, I would avoid this hotel/motel. Läs mer

Our room was not ready upon arrival. We had to change rooms 3 times because of key problems. It took over an our to finally get a room to settle down. I requested a small discount for our problems and never heard from the mgt. After that, all was fine. Rates are great. Location is great.

Its a great place to stay. inexpensive. customer service was great. very friendly people. we had a microwave and fridge. the shower is great. carpet in the room was dirty though. breakfast was very convenient. it was close to the freeway - easy to get around. close to the sd zoo and seaworld. i would stay here again next time.

Very close to the expressway and easy to get to downtown and other places under 25 minutes. The continental breakfast was adequate. The room was very clean, including the bathroom/tub. Service was good, and the location was great because it's so close to the freeway. It was a quick easy commute to the zoo and Sea World.

this hotel is literally seperated from the freeway by a fence. there's no other buffer for the noise. so if you're a light sleeper like me, I recommend either finding a different hotel or asking for a room far from the street. otherwise, it's a pretty decent hotel, and close to San Diego

Sorry. This is not worth a visit. The woman at the check in was not too friendly... The noise from I-5 is loud all day and night. The breakfast - not much.

Loved the free breakfast. They even had fresh whole apples. Lovde the free wifi. Didn't like the deposits but it's not bad. The cleaning staff was very nice. Location was great -- only 10 minutes from the beach. Great.

I stayed at this hotel with my business partner. It was in an okay area. We didn't feel threaten at all, but you can definately notice a difference in this neiborhood over the San Diego area. As soon as you turned on the shower an aweful (band saw) sound came from the wall. I guess the pipes were vibrating. The sound never gave up during the whole shower. And you could tell when others were showering, because you could hear the pipes vibrating. It accually vibrated so much that the scews that held the faccet together would back out. The maids must screw these back in during their cleaning. Weird... We stayed there 4 nights because we had to. If can spring for a few more dollars, I will not stay agin. The hotel was great, better than my expectation. My daughters bathing suit fell out of the car and one of the women cleaning rooms found it, recognized my car and brought it up to our room. The hotel was okay. We were in SD for a funeral and it was located close to the various places we need to be. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. However, our hairdryer was not working and I told the front desk 3 times and it still was not working when we checked out.

Nice place for the price. Right off the freeway, easy to get to. Room as expected for the price, clean and with all amenities as promised. Breakfast is included and except for weak coffee was a good start for our day - simple but enough. No ice machine, just have to ask at the front desk and they fill up your bucket.

The toilet did not work. I was charged twice for the safe and the housekeeping was banging on the door even though I had a do not disturb sign. The front desk had personal visitors standing around while I was doing business. Not a great hotel

The hotel is located near the trolly line which runs into downtown San Diego, which is great for those who do not have a car, but the train whistle can be noisy at times, luckily though I did not hear it too much at night. We really liked our room. Nice king bed, but only 3 very little very flat pillows, and when we asked for more, we were told that they didnt have any. Also the tv remote didnt work and the buttons onthe tv didnt work correctly all the time. But the room had a nice big bed, a fridge, microwave, and big bathroom counter area. In thoes way's it was better […] than our last room in Vegas! But for the price, I am very happy with what we recieved. There was some confusion about fees when I stayed at this motel. When checking in I was told that I had to give a safe deposit for the use of the in-room safe and if I didn't use the safe I would be refunded at checkout. At checkout I was told that that was not a fee that was refunded and it was a regular charge. I didn't understand why I would be charged […] another fee after the room charges and tax were paid. I was able to get my $ back but it seemed shady. Maybe there was a language bearer, I don't know. Room was not extremely clean and the beading was old and worn but I guess you get what you pay for. We stayed at this hotel for 7 days, 5 of which the internet didn't work. The front desk help didn't seem to know what they were doing trying to fix it, and didn't bother contacting someone to fix it. Also our room rarely got cleaned before 3:30, one time we came back to discover the TV had been left on, the channel changed, and the volume up. The front desk was friendly and helpful. The rooms were so so 2 of the lighting fixtures didn't work and had to get the bulbs replaced. The pillows were flat and the beds hard. The fridge/freezer combo was nice.

Overall, hotel was not in the best condition. Bedding was very old and the parking lot was extremly noisy (loud music, car alarms going off, people talking outside your door). The breakfast was also much to be desired. The location was great and very close to the Naval Base.
