Hade bokat hotellet två nätter men det blev till slut fyra nätter. Ett mycket trevligt hotell och fantastiskt hjälpsam personal. Hotellet låg dessutom mycket bra till för utflykter åt alla håll. Vi tog tåget till Florens, det tog mindre än en timma och kostade ca 45 kr! Certaldo visade sig också ha en jättefin gammal stad som vi besökte flera gånger. Ett hotell jag gärna skulle återvända till.

Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for a short weekend getaway. It is wonderful, great breakfast, good location. Do not expect fantastic views from the rooms. This was the only thing that let us down. Otherwise, a very good stay. We can recommend dinner at the Viva Mario.

Hotellet ligger helt perfekt i centrum med gångavstånd till allt! Det känns dock lite överdrivet att hotellet har 4 stjärnor, men uppfyller gott kraven för 3. Frukosten är helt ok. Rummen känns välstädade. Wii-fi ingår, men räkna med väldigt dålig täckning eftersom hotellet är stort och väggarna i sten. Annars väldigt trevlig personal, trevlig takterrass med utsikt. Jag är nöjd över hotellet och det fungerar perfekt i mitt syfte.

"2 star hotel in disguise.."
Its really funny how this hotel is marketed as a 4-star hotel.. Its not. Staff seems scared of something and will never give you a smile. Rooms are small (REALLY small), doesnt have a minibar, doesnt have any showergel (just a common soap). Breakfast is really bad!! You have to PAY like 5 euro for scambled egs, and thats just sad. Panorama, though, […] is quite nice. Quiet and peaceful.. The whole hotel feels like a hostel in a 4-star hotel building. Dont be fooled by this. "Very good hotel but a bit hard to find by car"
The hotel is within "Zona limitado" and it is very hard to find since almost all roads are one way roads. And some roads were blocked by roadworks. After we arrived the hotel was very good and location is perfect.Verifierad gästrecension

"January 2013"
We enjoyed our small balcony with its overwhelming view of the 'Dome'. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Staff were accommodating and helpful. We were concerned by a 'walk up' (elevator also) but the hotel is expansive with many places to gather and a terrance bar that we unfortunately didn't have an opportunity to experience. Everything in Florence […] was a reasonable walk with plenty of restaurants a walk away. The leather shop across the street was a find. "Great price, great location....."
Hotel California is very well situated, just a short walk from all the points of interest in historical part of Florence. Its entrance is very welcoming and has a hint of luxury, the building itself is an old building, which has been very nicely renovated, leaving a bit of the old charm in it. Staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, […] all you need if you are in Florence to visit the sights and not spend large part of the day in your room, then you might look towards something more luxurious. The only negative thing and it was kind of a biggie, was the windows in our room, which were old windows and they let in all the noise possible during the night and there was quite a bit of noise outside on the streets(cleaning crew, happy people walking by, etc..), it has brought few awakened moments during the night. "Great Location, but no Free Internet"
This hotel was very conveniently located to the Duomo and had secure (but not free) parking right next door. It was not easy to find from the autostrade primarily due to all the one way streets. We stayed in a quad room which was comfortable and clean. We ran out of hot water showering at 9AM, but got up earlier the next day and had no problem. Included […] breakfast was nice although I thought optional charge for a hardboiled egg was a bit much. Everything you want to see in Florence is an easy walk and very close to all sorts of restaurants. Staff was very helpful, but i just can't give all top marks to a hotel which still charges for internet. There's tons of free conectivity at nearby coffee shops so why charge? "Hotel California, Florence Italy"

"Ok for the price"
Somewhat offseason, hotel staff very friendly and helpful. It is noisy, and lots of college kids up late at night. I was young too, so maybe I would have been in the party if I was younger. Not quite what I'd expect from a 4 star hotel. The room (no 2) was small - no fridge or tea/coffee facilities and the double bed was two singles pushed together. However, the worst thing was the noise from outside at around 2am plus late/early arrives by other guests trundling wheeled cases along the tiled corridor outside which was next to main lobby. "Less than satisfying"
The room was more than sufficient, but the service should be brought into the 21st century. They did everything they could to discourage the use of a credit card. The internet cost was 10 Euros per day and they wouldn't accept a credit card for it and to make matters worse the strength of the signal was sketchy. "Excellent for a quick stay in Firenze"
We spent one night here and would return again with pleasure. Lovely, if small, room with large door opening onto tiny terrace with a special view of the Duomo. Very much enjoyed the roof-top bar, again with that spectacular view. Have a Negroni! Well-made. Parking immediately next to the hotel. A few days before check in, we asked the clerk to make a reservation to visit the Uffizi first thing so we could avoid the lines. Seemed like that slipped past whoever was supposed to handle that. I loved hotel california and would definitely stay there again. The only complaint I have is that the bed is hard as a rock which made sleeping difficult. I was prepared for this though because I had read other reviews that said the same thing. If they invested in new beds, this hotel would be perfect. The location is awesome. The street is not too […] busy unlike some other hotels I walked by that are right in the Duomo. There are great restaurants right near the hotel, just a minute walk away. The hotel was located just blocks from the Doumo and Academia) in a stately old home and appeared to be recently remodeled. It had modern elevators and the bathrooms in both of our rooms were very modern and spotlessly clean. All Florence hotels in the central areas have funky floor plans, and Hotel California was no exception, but in my 5 trips to […] Florence I have never had a more spacious or clean room. The breakfast was fine for us (yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, bread, pastries, cold meat and cheese) and the staff was friendly. A great value. I would definitely stay there again. Buying an imposing reception desk does not make you a 4 star hotel. The mattress in my room (#4) must be 40 years old. It actually sinks down 5 inches or so in the middle. The neighborhood is extremely noisy well into the wee hours of the morning. Was looking to get dinner at 11pm. "Hotel California - April 2012"
First, this is not 4* as you would experience in US. Location is good, close to train/bus terminal, close to most churches and academia. Room are tiny, but recently upgraded. We had a small balcony, but no view, just rooftop of the surrounding buildings. Small tv, looks like computer monitor. No hot breakfast. One morning we came to have breakfast right […] after the group of students. It was 8am, but almost no food left, stuff was very slow to bring more food. Have to wait 30 minutes for coffee cups and yogurt. Be very carefull - internet is not FREE. When we checked-in we got the card with wifi code, I asked twice if it was free and receive positive answer. However, when we checked out they charged us $10 per night. They rejected to accept credit cards for city tax and internet charge. I believe it was an owner at front desk. He was quite rude, saying he is not going to pay $3 fee on $10 cc charge. Totally untrue. When I complained that there is no sign about wifi charge. He reply that he is not going to put sign for every bread and cheese and everything else...Extremly rude guy. The room was very cold until 1600 or so, when the heaters kicked on. It took a long time for them to heat up. Breakfast was fine, but fruits were very old. When there were lots of people, fruits were not replaced. Bread roles were hard each day; they did not seem fresh. Not a particularly interesting hotel. Located on the second floor and very difficult to find by car. They advertise parking but it is not on the site - do not recommend booking a hotel in the historic part of Florence if you are driving - many one way streets and pedestrian only streets that the GPS seemed to be unaware of. The hotel is close to the heart of Florence. The room was decent,but walls were surprisingly scuffed and the shower was the tiniest I have ever encountered. Luckily, I am very thin.
