Generally a clean property but could use some freshening up. Room completely lacked any decorating, and was not overly appealing to the eye.

This hotel is gross, with gross clientele in a gros neighborhood. Elevator was filthy and never vaccumed, the breakfast was not worth the price, which was FREE! There are no good restaurants around unless you like eating at a dirty TGI Fridays that blares loud rap music so loud that you can't have a conversation. There were loud kids running up and down the halls knocking on doors and the walls are so thin I could hear the loud annoying lady next door screaming at the television. Friendly staff. Clean Toilet could have flushed better. Would have liked a regular lounge chair in the room. Kitchen was nice, but kind of don't need the cabinets waste of money and space taken...would rather have a chair or sofa to sit on. Restaurants were good and close. I would stay here again if need be.

The pool was clean and open until 11. Breakfast was the standard "Continental". This is one of the nicer ones in the Southfield area for bringing the family for a business trip.

We travel to Detroit at least once a month to see our college daughter. I have struggled to find a clean, comfortable hotel for a reasonable price. We definitely found it with this one. The signing out procedure was a staged way to take 150.00 for room fees, its clearly was donr in my case. Holding funds on my card when I checked in and hold was put on the card for 3-5 days, there was nothing stating that wld be done.. IT shows for smoking in rm 150 will be charged. My son left a pack of cigarettes and his I.D. in the rm and had to […] go back in the rm to get it, they let him back in and never reported a smell of smoke or anything. No one every called me of a problem, when I tried to use my card I found they had held charges for the room due to smoking.. If It was the case it sld be brought to my attension, The cleaning ppl or other staff cld have been in on it, I just warning any one staying, beware of this sceme, there are cameras to see who smoke and u will be targeted to possibly get you for that 150 fee.. Came back to Southfield to visit family for a few days. We stayed for three nights. The room was filthy. There was syrup all over the floor and sofa and the room smelled like it also. The bathroom floor was not clean. The cleaning staff did not remove the trash, the refrigerator did not cool and the miniature sink in the kitchenette had a slow drain. […] The manager's reception consisted of chex mix and a couple of two liters and the breakfast was options were poor. The fruit was old and the coffee was weak. We went across the street to a coffee shop each morning because of the poor quality. We picked this hotel for the amenities and location. Location was the only reason we decided to stay after the first night. Oh yeah...the pool was closed the first day. That night we saw them cleaning it with ajax. Never again! Läs mer

One gripe: the reservation was for two beds plus sofa fold out (for my two adult sons and myself). At check in we were advised that combo did not exist, either 1 King plus sofa or two Queens and no sofa. The breakfast bufet was very good especially as included in price. I had a great stay, the room was very large and the hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast had a great selection, and the attendant overseeing the area kept it very stocked and cleaned.

The room had a lamp that was missing. The remote control for the tv batteries would not stay in place and the lamp that was workin needed to be plug in and out in order to turn it off and on. Overall the stay was okay.

The hotel and staff was fantastic! However I was very disappointed that I was not informed that the hotel was being used as a cooling center for welfare receipients before I checked--in. These guests were allowed to walk arround with little or no clothing, we were prohibitd from using the pool because there were so many of them in the pool. The hotel was really nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was great. My whole family could find something to eat on there. We got the suite so our daughter would have room to play and nap and for the price the room was very clean and had lots of space. I would definetly stay there again.

This hotel provided a great location for where I needed to be and also had very friendly customer service reps. Other than that I have to say my compliments end there. The hotel itself was not as clean as I would have liked, my room had several challenges and I had to switch rooms by the second night. This was a trip to a doctor for workers comp. So it wasn't a pleasure trip. But we made it a nice one and Holiday Inn made it lots better. We were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost. That was nice. The room wasn't clean. There was smoking by occupants when Michigan has a no smoking indoors rule. The rooms weren't clean and although had full kitchens had no cooking supplies. There was no linen or pillows for the sofa bed either. I spent more time going back and forth to the front desk for supplies rather than enjoy my stay.
