Hotell Ocean Sands Beach Inn - St. Augustine

Trevligt hotell nära stranden. Det går en väg mellan hotellet och stranden, men inga problem. Liten egen pool finns. Trevlig personal. Kan mycket väl tänka mig att bo här igen.

rooms where nice ,kept clean whole hotel inside and out.beach across street nice views but if your looking for a sandy beach this isn't it.beach is more sea shells than anything. would stay here again.nice hotel for price paid compared to rooms in daytona beach

The woman that checked us in was very friendly. We were given the opportunity to upgrade our room. The room was nice and clean and the amenities are decent. There was a loud group in another room, but unfortunately, you have to expect that during spring break. It wasn't as bad as it could have been. This was our 2nd time staying. Would stay again.

First off, a heads up to those travelers with lots of bags, luggage ; this hotel does not have an elevator. Not thrilled after driving 16 hrs from New York and arrive at 2:30am and have to lug all our bags up 2 flights of stairs (not bad if you're on the first floor of course). Nice oceanview room; note there is a highway between the hotel and beach, […] so youre not truly ON the ocean, but its close enough. Hot breakfast was good, cute outdoor patio to eat on. Room was clean, comfortable bed, nice flat screen tv, found a salamander in our bathroom which I thought was comical , my boyfriend had the attitude like "welcome to Florida" and sent him to toilet bowl land:). I told the front desk staff about it and the guy laughed and said they are everywhere down in Florida. We stayed here for the Daytona 500 , since all the hotels in Daytona were booked.. The view of the beach is lost in your view of the busy street just off the balcony. The hotel was very noisy and obviously not well insulated. The heating and cooling system was also very loud. I chose to stay in a room with a king bed and was surprised to find that there were two full beds in the room. We loved it! we stayed at the king size standart room and it was very nice! it was a good size room with a balcony and a lovely view, all the rooms have a great view by the way,even if its not the ocean!the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable,nice and clean bathroom. the beach is right cross the street and its private,great for shelling […] and just so quiet and relaxing=))) friendly service. it's also very convinient, close to everything! the breakfast was good too! it's a perfect place for a little getaway for those who is on a budget and dont want to compromise on the quality!it just had everything we needed! we will definately be back!!! Very rude customer service. Policies not clear....This place has potential, but there are too many NICE places for the same amount of money. It also is NOT oin the beach, but accross the hwy from the beach.

Reserved a King Size Bed Room and was given two doubles. Would not go back. No pet hotel had dog barking for hours next door. Called front desk repeatedly.

This hotel was $30-$40 less than all the other ones. So when we got there were surprised it was so great. The staff was super friendly. Everyone we walked by said hi and asked if they could do anything for us. Location was great too. The ocean was across the street!!! It was great walking the beach looking for shells. We will be back soon.

This is a great place. Great staff. Close enough to Old St. Augustine and far enought away from the noise to get a great night's sleep. Beach is across the street.

This hotel was a pure pleasure to stay at, the staff were really great, the surroundings were fabulous so much so we stayed an extra night cannot say enough about this hotel you will have to come and stay yourselves. Great. Great. Great. need I say more.

For the price we paid, it was good. The room was ok, there were some bugs around the microwave, but the rest was ok. The breakfast was pretty good compared to most. Belgian waffle maker was really nice. It was a good experiance for the price we paid.

The front desk staff was very nice! The reason I rated the hotel lower to average is because my key wouldnt work to open the door. The front desk clerk had to use a hammer to knock the key into the slot just right to make it open. She said the humidity caused the key to not go into the lock properly, so it is common to use a hammer, hair brush, cigarette […] lighter, etc. So, I recommend not staying in Room 214 since the lock doesn't work correctly. Also, the room wasn't the dirtiest nor was it the cleanist. On the bright side, the hotel is located directly across from the beach. So, I walked across the street to the beautiful sunlight and waves. Its also very close to the St Augustine Tour company and other historical sites. Overall, my stay was average. did not get the room I book, cont. breakfast was ok but the room was a little small,beach was across the road, room could use alittle ext. cleaning

We were very disappointed when we got to the hotel, we paid too much money for it, it was not what the pictures show, for the money we paid for we could have got a 4 or 5 stars hotel, it's true this was not a nice hotel at all, the people who work there wasn't nice, the breakfast was horrible, the dining room was too small, the orange juice tasted so […] bad, the beach did not have any chairs for the hotel's customers, we heard everything what happened on the second floor and the next door room, every step, we couldn't sleep in peace, they charge too much for what's really worth. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is out of the way located in a residential area, private beach and away from hotel row. We will be coming back.

We would not recommend this hotel to anyone at all, it was late when we checked in, the location was fabulous - right across from the beach so all was good until we went into our room..... long black hairs on the bathroom floor, old fixtures, and a bed that I swear had not been changed as the sheets just looked like they had been slept in. Turned my […] stomach. Breakfast provided but not cooked or ready in time for posted breakfast available time. Pool so very hot - temp possibly high 90's so not refreshing at all and very old. We found this Inn very acceptable. Although staff was short-handed this week, our room was made up each day and the staff made every effort to please. Breakfast was good although the area was very small. The Inn is just across the road from a very unpopulated beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are both 59 yrs. old. The hotel was quiet, near the ocean, near good restaurants and near downtown St. Augustine The bed was comfortable, loved the heated pool. The breakfast was good and there was a worker there that made sure it was constantly stocked. We will definitely be staying again.

This is an excellent motel in every way. It has been upgraded recently in an amazing way. In earlier complaints I read about various problems, but NONE of these problems remain, as far as I could see. We stayed 3 nights with an ocean view and enjoyed our time greatly. We enjoyed our stay for two nights. it's a smaller hotel but well maintained. We enjoyed the free breakfast and the convenience of the beach. The things we did not like were the small pool and the small breakfast area. The staff were really nice but unorganized. The room was clean and with the A/C running you couldn't even hear the traffic. Great location […] for a get away but a bad spot if you like to party and walk around. When arrived at hotel and checked into room we pulled back the sheets on the bed, this seemed to have been unmade and looked as if someone had slept in the bed and just pulled sheets back, sheets were creased and stained with bleach. pillow left on chair, bed felt damp. The bin had not been emtied and was full of bottles. Coffee in room not replaced. Bathroom […] drains smelled. When sat outside patio door - just across the road from coastal highway we saw maid throw contenrs of dirty ashtray from next doors room while she was cleaning it, reported staraight away to reception who made her clear it up. Cleanliness of room not up to standard. Reception staff did not understand very good english but were polite. First showed up and didn't recognize the place. Online photo's make it look better than real life. Then they messed up our reservation trying to give us a king rather than 2 double beds, until they looked it up and saw I reserved double beds and then found one for us. Worse was cleanliness. Roaches crawling on bathroom counter and no telling where else. […] Under one bed was a child's toy and the other had a half empty soda bottle. Just felt grimy and dirty. Had to walk across highway to get to beach. Paid too much. Paid less for a 5 star hotel in Orlando area. Maybe next time just stay in Orlando longer. Läs mer

This place is pittyfull the photos of this place were taken 10 years ago. The first room was a handi-cap room with stains on the carpet. the 2nd room was dark and dingy, the 3rd room smelled like mold and cigar smoke. Finally the 4th room was SO-SO but slept the night with the A/C blowing in my face. I found this little hotel last minute while traveling from West Virginia to Florida and loved it! It is legitimately right across the street from it's own little section of private ocean beach. The room looked a little aged (as I typically expect with a beach hotel), but they kept up the overall maintenance well. The rooms were clean and comfortable, […] so I could easily have stayed a while longer. The free breakfast was also quite a treat with a waffle maker so you can have a hot breakfast if you wish along with the typical continental (bagels, cereal, coffee, etc.). The neighborhood is mostly expensive beach homes. The hotel is at the north end of the beginning of the hotels. It is only a 10 minute drive to downtown St. Augustine. There are not many rooms, so I imagine it gets full when the season is high. But if you are traveling off season, it is a great last-minute find right on the beach of St. Augustine. Läs mer

We stayed two nights at the Ocean Sands and enjoyed watching the sun set and sailboats going by on the intercoastal facing side of the building. The second night we stayed on the ocean facing side and enjoyed a lovely view of the waves rolling in all evening. The hotel was very quiet and the other guests were friendly. The breakfast served was simply […] your averaged pre-prepared and pre-packaged cereals and donuts but was very convenient. All in all my girlfriend and I were very pleased with our stay and will likely return to the Ocean Sands on a future visit to Saint Augustine. Läs mer

Saw some thing that were dirty, ie guest lobby bathroom was little bit gross. _

Hotel was depicted in a much more favorable light than it actually was. We got stuck in the handicap room, we are not handicapped. It sat directly past thr front desk, and next to the breakfast room, (which made for easy access to these, but also all the noise associated with them). The mini fridge did not work, so I spent each night filling bags with […] ice to put in the fridge to keep our food cold. The pool was much smaller than it appeared in the photos. The only floor with a view is the second and then only if you are on the baech side. The beach was very nice, if somewhat limited in depth to the water at hide tide. The front desk staff were very friendly and accomadating. The maid however should learn the proper way to enter a room. She just stuck her cardkey in the door and walked right in, without knocking or announcing housekeeping prior to opening the door. Needless to say, I was standing there in front of the mirror having just finished showering. Guess she got more of an eyeful than she signed up for...lol. All in all, my wife and I had a marvelous time, despite the accomadations or lack there of. Next time we will do a much better job of researching the location and amenities before we book. We stayed at this hotel on our honeymoon almost 10 years ago so we thought it might be fun while driving through Florida recently to stay a couple of nights for "old time sake". The hotel seems to have had some updates to the furnishings and is still kept clean and neat, great location across the street from the beach, close enough that the sound of […] the waves is louder than the traffic on the highway. Did not replace light bulb when asked. Wastebaskets not emptied daily. Hard to get on line with the Wi-Fi. Small breakfast area-get there early to get a seat. Breakfast selection just OK. Would not recommend.

Beach access is acroos a two lane road that can be very bust with speeding cars at times. this hotel was not what I expected as it is listed as "beach Front Property" It is across the street. Based on the photo it looks attached to the property. This was important to me as I was traveling with small children. very disappointing...

AWESOME PLACE TO STAY!!! PERFECT FOR US. We are a group of four ages, 21-29 we were able to stay there for a week for a great rate, it was a quiet place busy on the weekends, room service was good rooms were clean, we stayed on the back side bottom level with a patio 20 feet from the pool, great sunsets. the front "ocean view" probably not worth the […] extra $$ IMO. A very short walk across the street to a nice beach. For the money I will be back everytime!! Läs mer

This is a nice little hotel with great service and location. Right across A1A from the beach that is very uncrowded and great for shelling. We stay there every time we visit St. Augustine.

We arrived early and the front desk staff was very accommodating, and they assisted with information on the local area. We very much enjoyed our stay. The property is very well maintained and the location is great. The private beach was an added bonus.

This is such a beautiful old Florida hotel tucked away in the middle of a row of beach houses. Only about 2 miles from downtown, it offered everything we were looking for! It is an older hotel so you have to overlook small toilets and small breakfast area but the private beach was amazing and the location was awesome! Small hotel was simple and comfortable, Liked that it was right across from the beach which was very nice and quiet. Older hotel but it was sufficient and close to the attractions in downtown st. augustine. Nice place to rest for the evening.

Beach right across the road. Great restaurants nearby. Short drive to St. Augustine. Everything was acceptable and while the place was generally clean, I noticed that the carpeted stairs that we used were not vacuumed during the three days there.

There is no place in the real world that looks like the picture in the hotel promo. 2 pictures must have been merged together to create a made up place. The beach is lovely with great shelling. It's across a busy street. Everything was in poor repair: faucets, tub, doors, dirty carpets.

Great location. I could not find anything better for the price. I would repeat again.
