Hotell Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa Universal Studios Area - Orlando

Hotellet är ett gigantiskt komplex med massor av stora byggnader med större och mindre lägenheter. Man får en karta för att hitta! Ingången till vår lägenhet kändes ruffig och lite skum och dottern, 11 år, grät när vi kommit in och sa att hon inte kände sig säker! Rummet var stort, med litet pentry, stort badrum med stor dusch och bubbelbad, men rummet […] i övrigt kändes lite gammalt. Efter den första chocken, började vi trivas riktigt bra, även om vi aldrig vande oss vid den ruffiga entren till rummet. I dagsljus såg stället trevligare ut, med stor pool och massor av familjer som gäster. Restaurangen är okej, omän också den ligger en bit bort i det enorma komplexet. Det bästa med Westlake är det fenomenala läget! Jättelätt och snabbt att ta sig till alla parker som Disney, underbara Discovery Cove, Sea World etc. Man får en lista med alla platser man kan tänka sig, och bra anvisningar om färdväg. Toppenbra! Det var också perfekt med det lilla köket i lägenheten, med kylskåp för smått och gott att äta när man inte vill köra iväg till restaurangen. Sängen var enorm, och städningen var fantastisk, man t.om. diskade åt oss och la stor vikt vid detaljer. Det var väldigt lyhört, med grannar som höll låda till sent på natten och ett oljud när dörrar öppnades och stängdes. Summan av vistelsen var alltså en blandad kompott, men för det priset är det nog ytterst svårt att hitta nåt bättre i området! Jag kan tänka mig att bo där igen! Läs mer

Vi var i Florida i 16 nätter och var jag minns mest är att rummen var så smutsiga och äckliga. Den första städerska var helt katastrof ,sen kom det en annan och det blev något bättre men var ej ok. Hotellet låg dock bra till och det var nära till allt.

Hotellet ligger kanonbra, väldigt nära till alla nöjesparker i Orlando och även "rätt" sida stan om man vill till Tampa och Busch Gardens. Hotellpersonalen var vänlig och hotellet välstädat och rummen helt ok, med tv, dvd-spelare, bubbelbadkar, stor separat dusch, hyggligt stort kylskåp mm. Hotellområdet är väldigt stort, innehåller 6-7 poolområden […] med barer, bubbelpool, stor vanlig pool mm. Minigolf, trampbåtar, tennisbanor mm finns även det. Det finns även en mindre butik på området där det går att handla. Dessutom finns ett jättebra steakhouse med mycket rimliga priser på området. Som alla andra stora hotell i Orlando finns det aktivitetsdisk vid receptionen, här finns till och med en separat disney-disk, utöver den vanliga. Jag rekommenderar verkligen området, där jag inte uppfattar att man gör skillnad på gäster och ägare i någon större utsträckning. Lite rabatter och bättre service för de som är time share-delägare, men det känns helt rimligt tycker jag. Vi blev inte en enda gång under 10 dagar tillfrågade om vi ville köpa time-share, något som vi uppskattade då vi fått intrycket av att andra blivit mer eller mindre jagade av ivriga försäljare. Min gissning är att folk erbjudits billiga eller gratisbiljetter till parker och evenemang mot att lyssna på info om time-share, och då tycker jag man får ta att de är ihärdiga, biljetterna är värda mycket pengar och givetvis vill de sälja om man visat intresse. Men är man inte intresserad så respekteras detta till 100%. Skulle jag någon gång åka tillbaka till Orlando-området skulle jag inte tveka att bo här igen. Läs mer

Have stayed here before and enjoy the room and complex. The age of the resort is showing a little but overall room was clean and comfortable. Love the bed!! Only complaint was the resort fee, I have stayed with a group before so was not expecting this nor was it mentioned during the booking process. Was only there for the weekend but was great time the villa was a 1 bedroom villa TV in main area and bedroom, washer and dryer combo, kitchenette. Well definately stay there again

This is a resort geared to large families. If you just want to sleep. Find a good hotel. I prepaid and had to pay a resort fee for services we never used. The beds and pillows were the worst and we got a lousy nights sleep.

No complaints! Room was clean with modern upgrades (granite counter tops, all stainless steel kitchen equipment). It made us feel right at home. My husband and I bought food at Whole Foods(near) and cooked. Lovely 2 night stay which we so desperately needed! Excellent customer service. Couldn't ask for better!

While we liked much about our stay, at 3am someone began persistently ringing the doorbell. Unfortunately, they continued to ring it. Then again at 3:15am and finally at 4am. This really sucked. We got up twice and were asked by the guy to knock on the other door...we refused as it was very late. It pretty much ruined our sleep and our lasting impression […] of the hotel. This "resort" is anything but, the staff was not helpful, the walls in the room were so thin I felt like I was in the same room as my neighbors and my daughter woke up with bug bites on her legs. My family and I will never stay here again.

We arrived around 5:00 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon. Checked in with ease, no long lines or wait. We were given keys to our studio and directions on how to get to it. First impression - Clean quarters. No problems until we tried to lock the night latch. It did not work. We called the front desk, and someone was sent to our room within minutes. It could […] not be fixed, so the maintenance worker said a locksmith would have to be called and we'd have to be there when they came. Because we had plans and were not going to be there, we opted to just use the deadbolt. Just happened, we had the deadbolt on one day when someone from the cleaning crew knocked and opened the door at the same time. Thank God, we were fully dressed. My spouse told her that she should always knock first before entering. She was very apologetic. We have stayed at this location multiple times, so it's obvious that we love the place due to it's great location. Look forward to our next trip. Läs mer

It was very good it had Everthing I needed and close to all the parks

It is a nice place, clean, simple, with many amenities and good free Internet through Wi-Fi in the rooms. To eat, one good restaurant, one deli and one pizza place with delivery. The surroundings are beautiful, with a small lake with boats.To enjoy everything around you need a car: the parks and city are not at a comfortable walking distance. Room was clean and big, but I did not like the idea of the staff trying to make me buy a property there right at check in time...the least I wanted was to be bother...I usually like to get to my hotel check in as fast as possible and relax...we also had the inconvenience of people making alot of noise on the floor above me...called the front desk and […] they kept transfering me to different extentions, but no one did anything to solve the problem and this was at 2:00 am...we cold not really sleep. California King bed, pull out full size sleeper sofa. Room was clean, well kept and no item was particularly worn. Bathroom was spacious where the jacuzzi tub and separate glass shower was. Toilet was a bit cramped with it's own door/room, but serviceable. Spacious, enclosed balcony to relax on. Check-in was relatively quick, but be aware this is a […] timeshare location that also rents to overnight guests - so you may be presented with free breakfast/ timeshare opportunities that can be declined. There was an additional per night charge that was documented in our purchase, just so others are aware. I was disappointed overall. The staff was not very friendly, the restaurants were closed and we were starving! It was 2pm and it was all closed! The market place was closed for construction so we had to go offsite for food. I had two occasions at night that someone woke me up b trying to jiggle the handle of my door outside. Stayed at Westgate several times and was very disappointed with this stay. The bathtub was dirty when we got there. Called for housekeeper. After no service in an hour, canceled call and cleaned tub ourselves. Cockroach in vent of bathroom. Security guard was also extremely rude at front gate. He was verbalizing frustrations regarding our security tag […] not being filled out but turned out, security was supposed to complete the tab initially, not US. I have stayed at the Westgate Lakes several times and have never had a bad time. This time we had a room overlooking the lake. It was a beautiful view.

This Resort is 3 minutes from Sea World/Discovery Cove/Aquatica, and everything about the hotel, the staff, and the amenities could not have enough said about them. The accomodations were spectacular, the quality of the service was amazing, we needed a crib, called the front desk, and less than 10 minutes later, the crib was delivered to our door with […] a smile. I had no idea how amazing this resort would be. The room was beautiful, I can't believe we got it for such a cheap price. I would highly recommend this place for anyone.

I was so excited when I booked this room, for 50% off! Checkin seemed odd, and then I was hit with you have to go to a presentation about the resort in the morning with my whole family, had to pay an additional $20 but was told I would get it back after a free breakfast and short talk about the resort. Free breakfast wasn't great, and we had to sit […] through a 3 hour presentation with an 11 month old in tow and a preschooler!!! Horrible high pressure sales and we had only been there 10 hours!!! Good thing we didn't spend thousands to buy a time share because the decor was old, not very clean and they don't even clean the rooms daily for you. They handed me clean towels, asked me to give them the dirty ones and had me bring my garbage to the door to empty it on my second day. Everyone seems really nice until you say no (a hundred times) to buying a timeshare! Also, there wasn't enough parking for guests. We parked far away, had to carry our stuff so far, no trolleys around. By morning guests has parked everywhere, in no parking areas and infront of other cars. The pool should stay open at least till 1-2 not till 11 that's not right!

Location was very good. The kids had a good time in the large pool, while my husband and I had a cocktail poolside. The rooms need updating and better cleaning.

Disappointed in the resort. When you are on vacation and have 4- 18 year olds there you need to have activities that go past 5pm at night. They made it sound like there were activity options all day and night. Meaning, tennis, mini golf, volleyball, ext, but in fact they light none of the courts or mini golf areas, so the only option for the night time […] hours is to swim. We are extremely active people and were very disappointed in the lack of things to do at night. Had dinner in their steak house, service was poor to say the least and the food was less than pleasing! We were roped into having to do a 90 minuted tour (time shares), which we understand can happen, but it is how they go about doing it, really making you feel this is what you have to do in order to receive the resort amenities. This was frustrating and caused issued with our stay as my husband was rather upset! The parking and roads are extremely dangerous especially for anyone that has little kids, buildings are so close and many angles, and everyone seemed to be racing through the grounds. Very dangerous! Service at the desk was non caring, and really if I could have been able to move to another hotel I would have. We chose this hotel for all the reasons listed on the site, and found ourselves less than happen and within two day wishing for the weekend to come to move to our next location! Very loud and busy during the day, wasn't aware this was a "resort". Unfortunately, we were right by the basketball court where people were playing until 12:45 AM, hard to sleep. We asked for something that was sticky to be cleaned up in the common hallway to rooms A and B, they said sure and never came, we walked thru it over and over. The bed was […] very comfortable as was the pull out bed. My kids were not happy that the depth of the pools (5 1/2 ft. Deep) but there were many of them. The dish washer did not work, bathroom doors lock were broken, mildew in bathroom. Could not leave room for 3 days waiting for maintenance and had to book another day stay because of time lost on this stay. Maintenance dept was were very rude and kept hanging up and when I called to complaint to front desk their words were" that is not our problem. […] VERY UNHAPPY WITH ROOM AND OVERALL SERVICE. BUT more unhappy that I had to pay for another day stay because of their incompetence.. Läs mer

Not a bad place to stay, but the Westgate Vacation was newer and nicer. this place is older and needs some TLC, bathroom door did not lock. service was good, No towels at the pool. employees were nice. The westlake hotel staff was very nasty.. They charged us additional fees for the resort.. that was not listed on hotels.com.. the hotel is dates.. and noisy.. they try to sell you a timeshare the entire time you are there. Horrible experience

This is a very noisy hotel at night. They have a basket ball court that is open all night. They have guests playing loud music ate 4 am. I had to call several times to complain about the noise. They had added charges that are not explained when you book the hotel. they are not transparent about there billing. The Door to my room had the security latch […] torn off. Hotel fairly close to universal, but not walkable. Shuttle needs a 24h advance to get on and limited seating and only 2 times to go back and forth...BUT after Checkout, we were able to use the facilities we just the parking pass...for the price and the short time we had to book it, it was not bad whatsoever

It was very busy and they do the timeshare thing, which we were not interested in! For the price it was great and with little kids. It was a safe environment. It could have used some updating.

This hotel was HORRID. The room had a stale foul odor to it. The carpet was dirty and the bathroom floor was SLIMEY! The TV and furniture in the room was beyond OUTDATED! We came back from Universal Studios late one evening only to find that our room had not been serviced. When we called to inquire about this we were told that the rooms were only serviced […] every 4 days although our room was cleaned every day that we were there prior to this day. We were told that someone would come up and service the the room. A man shows up with a bag of towels and dropped them at my feet when I opened the door. When I asked him about the rest of the room and the garbage he then informed me that there was a garbage downstairs by the elevator and I should take it there myself. Now I'm no snob, but there are certain things that I will NOT do when I'm on VACATION! I will never visit this hotel again and you shouldn't either. Läs mer

The Westgate Lakes Resort in Orlando, FL was incredible! We got a great deal through Hotels.com, and the whole complex really impressed us. The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was beautiful with a King sized bed and a Jacuzzi in the middle of the room! It was clean and located only minutes from Universal Studios. The bed was very comfortable, […] and we had no problems with noise or rude people. The pool is beautiful and so was the view. I cannot wait to go back again some day! Läs mer

Great place to stay at, with a big group or with family. Excellent staff and customer service... very convenient location. The welcome staff was a bit snooty and quite impatient. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay here.

This resort has been very well maintained, completely remolded since we had stayed previously. Had everything we needed... View, good bedding, kitchenette and a luxurious tub.
