Hotell Eurostars Grand Marina - Barcelona

Nice hotel in a really convenient location. The view from the balcony was spectacular, saw the port and the entire city! Good sized room for being a European hotel (I think the room we had was a superior). The service was friendly, but extremely lacking, especially considering it is supposed to be a 5-star. Warning, the beds are rock-hard!

We chose the hotel for a 4 day stay because it is near the cruise port from which we were leaving. It is a beautiful hotel with very modern decor and first rate service. Rooms were comfortable, quiet and large by European standards. There is an excellent but rather pricey restaurant on the premises. In a square next to the hotel are some inexpensive […] eateries that provided breakfast and light meals. Our only quibble would be that the hotel is a little far from a Metro stop and a considerable walk to get almost anywhere. Taxis were always available outside the door and a "hop on- hop off" tourist bus had a stop at the hotel as well. Overall, this is a great hotel and I would definitely return. Läs mer

We loved this hotel on the Marina about 5 minutes walk to the colombus statue at the base of the La Rambla.

26 euros by taxi from airport including all fees. Very close to port 10min by taxi in traffic. Close to all the sites and bus stop is 30 seconds away. Nice, luxury hotel with clean, large rooms. Location close to shopping and restaurants on marina but a little bit of a hike to the center of las ramblas.

Excellent location for access to cruise ships, La Ramblas and marina. Great service. Comfy beds, quiet and luxurious shower. A perfect place to stay while in Barcelona.

The shower and bathroom were wonderful! We had a room on the end and it was very spacious and comfortable. The beds were hard, but that was common for all three beds we slept in on our European tour (Barcelona + cruise). Be careful you do not have to leave the hotel when there are lots of ships in the port. Traffic gets really bad.

Excellent hotel fantastic views deserves 5 Star

Stayed at this hotel before and after a cruise with Celebrity. We were met initially with disorganised and disinterested staff, who clearly didn't understand the booking in procedure. We ended up having to phone another guest from our party - who had already checked in, to prove that they were there already. The hotel had no idea. The rooms are beautifully […] appointed, but the quality of finish is poor - the shower leaked, the sockets were hanging off the wall and inaccessible, the junior suite had a "living area" , entirely furnished with s small glass table. The air conditioning was not working - but they did repair it. Food in the restaurant was excellent, but the service was slow. Room service was overly expensive, fairly slow, and repeatedly wrong. Hotel carpets were not clean, but the rooms themselves were. The swimming pool was very small, and was currently being repaired so was out of action. Sun terrace looks like a carpark. Bellboys/concierge were excellent. As was transfer service. 5 star hotel?? Nope. All the elements are there, but they hang disjointedly giving jarring headache to anyone expecting quality service. The hotel was in walking distance to everywhere important. Quiet & safe with great staff. The rooms were slightly outdated but very large and clean

We loved the hotel and its location. We had one problem. Our room was very warm. If we opened our balcony door we couldn't sleep because of people partying. The air conditioner needed to be turned on by maintenance staff (master switch) however, that never happened....even after 3 calls to the front desk. We spent one night post cruise before flying home. The hotel is very close to the cruise port, in fact we watched our ship pull out late in the afternoon from our room. We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights as part of a “road trip” to see 2 F1 races. We needed a good clean hotel with safe parking for our car. The hotel fitted the bill. Easy to drive to as even though it is in a great location a main road goes virtually straight to it. The porters removed our bags and parked the car as we checked in- nice guys who did […] not go for a joy ride! Room nice and clean with a view of the harbour. The roof top pool is really a splash pool for cooling off in not for swimming but the pool and area is very good all the same. We cannot comment on the food as we did not eat at the hotel as the restaurant seemed a little “soulless” kind of like a large airport departure lounge, also with so many tapas bars in Barcelona why would you want to?? I spent the night before my cruise ship departed, when I woke I could see the ship from the hotel lobby. Staff excellent in helping solo traveler. Location close to shopping and the Ramblas.

The Eurostar Grand Marina is a terrific hotel in a great locations (sufficiently near to the old town to permit walking to everywhere, including the metro), with accommodating staff. The bathroom -- which is a pet peeve for me when it comes to hotels -- was sumptuous and well appointed. My stay was very pleasant and marred only by a few modest flaws […] most of which are fixable if the hotel wanted to: i) there is not hot water maker in the room with which to make tea or coffee, ii) no mini-frig, iii) the lighting in the bathroom is grossly insufficient -- especially in the shower area where you are effectively taking a shower in the dark!, and iv) the food in this otherwise wonderful hotel is inferior given that Barcelona is such a great place for dining. Pros: The hotel was on a pier and was close to Las Ramblas (about a 5 min walk).The staff was super friendly and there was always a cab available even at 5am. The room was amazing. Wood floors, a jetted tub, a seperate multi-head shower, a double sink and granite counter tops. Free internet is also a huge plus for Americans with no cell phone service. Cons: […] When paying over 500 euro/night (yes I said euros) I expected the most comfortable bed I had ever slept in. I was wrong. I got a hard crappy bed that I could have gotten at any motel/hostel. The last think I want is to be on vacation and wake up with back pain. Also, for the price we paid our view sucked! staff were very helpful and friendly. they also offered us a free upgrade on our room. The piano bar on the 1st floor was lovely and servs decent food until 1am which was very handy as we checked in rather late. The hotel is in a superb locatio with easy walking distance to many local attractions and the port.

* great location. * friendly front desk staffs. * Had the best bar service. We had 'Free welcome drinks', which I thought would be only cheap sweetened 'fresh fruit juice'. However, the bartender mentioned that we can have wine or others. Not only that, he even top up our glasses with a great Spainish liquer. We travel a lot and have been to Barcelona […] a few times, but the services of this hotel is really good. The location is so good too. Am trying my best to watch my weight so find that it is great to be able to go out to walk around the port after dinner. Very good value for money. Will definately stay there again, or as long as the services and staffs of this hotel remains the same and not spoilt like some sad big name hotels. Läs mer

Good Hotel in a nice location overlooking ocean and city. it does take some walking and cabs to get around and see the sites of Barcelona.

We checked in and we were helped with our luggage. We had a room with no real sea view so we asked if we could have a room with a 'view' . Fortunately there was a room available although the rooms with the front view of the port are smoking although we couldn't smell any smoke on our floor. We loved the room, and the view was amazing. We could see and […] hear all the large cruise ships coming in and out, the balcony was nice, although not big enough to sit out on and read. The room service and breakfast was amazing. The bed was huge and bathroom was large and clean, the bath did take forever to run but that wasn't a big deal. It only took about 8 minutes to walk to Las Ramblas and the open top bus tours had a bus stop right outside the hotel..Taxis are readily available outside the hotel and staff were happy to assist with anyhting. Unlike hotels along La Rambla, this is away from the crowd and very quiet at night. We did walk back through the very isolated part from La Rambla to hotel, but no problem even at 11:00 PM. We arrived early in AM and check in was very quick and efficient. Baggage was put in storage and we started being "tourists in Barcelona," returning around 6 PM […] and baggage was already placed in room. The room faced the city and view was centered on the gondola lift tower which was under repair forbidding loading right at the front of hotel. The area was dense with Tour Sightseeing Buses. The room was slightly larger than a standard Holiday Inn type, but in excellent condition. In morning we avoided rather expensive buffet, because coffee and pastry is our style. That was available in the "World Trade Center Courtyard" which is immediately outside the hotel rear and part of the buildings which all form a large cirlce. We choose the hotel for it's location adjacent to our cruise ship's terminal for check in. Literally adjacent - a super convenience especially in a heavy downpour at the time. We ate one dinner meal in hotel primarily because of an extreme downpour, wind, and lightning. Service was somewhat slow, probably due to unexpected increased number of diners. Food was good, but other restaurants in Barcelona would have been our first choice. There are many excellent hotels in Barcelona, but if you're on a Silver Seas Cruise, or other line that docks at that location, I'd have lots of trouble understanding why you would want to stay anywhere else while touring Barcelona. We stayed here one night prior to our cruise, we arrived early and room was ready so very pleased with that., room was clean and large and hydrobath was great. Wouldnt recommend a long stay here as it is very quiet, and expensive to dine in. The biggest disappointment was the size of the pool and lack of sunbeds. though the early check in was not done properly, we enjoyed staying at the hotel. But location not ideal, although central and close to las ramblas but in the middle of the harbor. The swimming pool is a joke btw. It's more like a big bath tub than anything. I was expecting more than that for an hotel of this category.

Great suite; Champagne delivered to room late afternoon; Very FIRM mattress; only other complaint was lack of communication that should have told us that comp breakfast could have been served via room service in lieu of buffet.

Nice location at the end of Las Ramblas. Staff very correct and precise. Upgraded to a suite on arrival. Bottle of wine waiting in the room. discreet turndown service, where they replaced all the bits I'd used.

Overall good value for very nice hotel. Centrally located near port and Las Ramblas. Bed was very hard (might just be a European thing). Staff was friendly but not terribly proficient in English.

The hote is about 30 mns from the airport, centrally locate for Las Ramblas and genrl tourist areas of Barcelona. The reception and departureproceures were painless and efficint. The room large, clean and quiet. The meals excellent in quality , quantity, service and choice. Overall deserves the 5v star rating and i would not hesitate in recommending […] it to any one else. We got off the cruise and were at our hotel within 6 minutes. We checked in early and then walked thru downtown Barcelona. The room was just perfect.....

It is near the airport and cruise ships. Located close to a stop of a double-decker tour bus. This was very convenient for sightseeing. We were able to tour all day and then we were back the hotel with no worry about taxi, etc. Everything was great at the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone.

There are many positives about staying at the Eurostar Grand Marina. First, we were able to book transporation from the airport to the hotel. This service is provided by the hotel at, what I feel, was a reasonable cost. Our driver was waiting when we arrived in Barcelona. He was very nice and we had an enjoyable ride to the hotel. When we arrived at […] the hotel our room was available. It overlooked the marina and, what I would call, Christopher Columbus square. We had a view nice view of Barcelona. Picture perfect! The room was very large and the bed was not bad. You hear a lot of talk about hard beds in Europe. It was firm but comfortable. The slippers are a nice touch. A breakfast buffet is available. It is a little expensive but it offers a wide choice of items and you can get eggs made to order. The meats, fruits, and cheeses are wonderful. The touristic bus stops in front of the hotel. It is a great way to see the city and the many things it has to offer. You can get on and off the bus all day long for one price. This stop is never crowded and you can easily find a seat on top the bus. If you get on the bus at some of the more popular stops you will have to wait in line and may not get the top of the bus. Getting on at the hotel is a huge plus! The gothic quarter and Las Ramblas are just steps away from the hotel. It is an easy walk. But, I suggest that if you want to do Las Ramlas you take the touristic bus to City Centrel on the red line. It leaves you off at the top of Las Ramlas and makes for an easy walk down the street. At the bottom you can catch the bus again and go elsewhere. The hotel sits kind of off to the side of all the hustle and bustle making it nice and quite in the evening. I had read some reviews about noise from incoming ships before I booked my stay. I was a little concerned. But, we did not have any problems.
