VI bodde på El Taj under fyra nätter i mitten på april, det var en klart rekommendabel upplevelse. VI bokade sent och fick ett bra priserbjudande på en rymlig svit med egen takterass, utmärkt om man ibland vill vara lite avskiljd. Ambitionen var hög på hotellet även om kvaliten var ojämn på servicen. Garage inkluderat var ett plus. Mycket spring dock i lägenheten på inkonsekventa tider kunde vara lite besvärligt.

Vi hade 3rum i 14dagar då vi var 6personer som reste. Sängarna var breda och om man känner för att bo 4pers i 1rum fungerar det. Hotellet låg bra strategiskt till för utflykter, badstrand, shopping och nöjesliv. Gångavstånd till allt. Nära till Wal-Mart (typ ICA). Kan dock vara högljutt på nätterna från klubbar bland annat Coco Bongo då utelivet börjar sent och håller på till kl. 7-8 på morgonen. Hörselproppar rekommenderas. Bra fungerande AC, kylskåp på rummen. Frukosten på hotellet var i underklass och inte prisvärd, vi handlade och gjorde egen frukost. Middagarna åt vi oftast ute på restauranger med spartanska vita plaststolar där mycket mexicanare åt, det var de allra bästa ställena.

Finns helt enkelt inget att anmärka på, de lever upp i alla avseenden till ett 5 stjärnigt hotel. Mkt bra resturanger oavsett vilken av de ca 10 man väljer, stort urval, bra kvalitet. Många lounger, barer etc - allt supertrendigt designat, rummen likaså. Fantastisk strand, mkt bra poolområden, underbar och serviceminded personal. Jag reser mkt både privat som i tjänst, detta slår det mesta i alla avseenden. Åkte med familjen, barn i ålder 2,13 - fanns att göra för alla inkl föräldrar. Olika aktiviteter varje dag för vuxna som barn, allt ifrån lära sig att göra sushi med hotellets kockar ( de har bl.a. en mkt bra sushi rest. på hotellet) till Scuba Diving med hotellets egen båt och instruktörer. Vi åkte över påsken och då var hotellet kanske belagt till 70%, de flesta amerikaner och sydeuropéer. Ändå fanns det gott om plats överallt - ingen trängsel någonstans, varken i resturanger eller på hotellets privata strand. Allt var perfekt, rekommenderar detta hotell till alla.

Nice place with friendly staff with beach and snorkeling right there. Hotel restaurant on the expensive side and an $8.00 taxi ride to get to town.

If you are planning to do diving while in Cozumel this is the hotel for you. A good diving operator is made up of three crucial parts: 1. A fast boat 2. small group 3. experienced and safety conscious dive masters who take the customer where he/she wants to go Babeica Diving in El Cid has all of these and on top of this, the DM's are simply great […] and cool people. If you take pot luck and end up with any one of the three amigos, Luis, Socrates or Julian, you simply won't be dissapointed. I give 10/10 to Babeica and the crew. "Nice Mini Resort with beach view"
This is a nice resort style hotel with a small private beach, restaurant, gym, cabanas, beach lounge chairs, jacuzzi with bar, dock for snorkeling, hammocks!, and clean rooms. You are greeted with a free drink and are given many freebies including organic honey shampoo and snacks. Their gym is small but not many people used it while i was there so i […] had the whole place to myself. The jacuzzi is nice, but get there early because people like to stay there and enjoy the sea breeze. I really didn't like the room service though. The portion size was small and the price was on the high side. All in all, i recommend this hotel, its a nice place for the price. Läs mer
"La Ceiba....wouldn't be my first choice..."
I have to say, most of the staff is very friendly and very accomodating. If you stay in the tower you will have a better stay overall. These are bigger, newer rooms with a nice view of the ocean. In contrast, the room we stayed at was very dimly lit, had very loud pipes that would wake us up in the middle of the night and the room was small and outdated- […] and there is no elevator. Bellman can help you, but it's rather difficult managing the stairs with a stroller and baby in tow. The food at the hotel wasn't all that great and it's rather pricey. I would definitely NOT recommend getting all inclusive for this reason. I would recommend eating towards the centro where you can find some wonderful restaurants with reasonable prices. One main reason why my hotel stay was not as enjoyable is because I was supposed to receive "hotel credit" in a certain amount to use at the resort. I was specifically told that I could use this credit for food and drinks and pretty much anything there at the resort. Instead, I received a coupon book that was useless to me. You have to spend a minimum (usually around $150-200) to use a coupon, and many of these coupons weren't even for the La Ceiba. It was very disappointing. Another thing- I wouldn't go on tours using the hotel service. Do your own homework online and save yourself a good $20 per person or more for the same exact tour. They try to make it reasonable if you waste 90 minutes of your day listening to people try and sell you a time share. I'm glad I didn't do it! My time on vacation is precious! "The El Cid Hotel in Cozumel"
Stayed (Nov. 30 to Dec the 8, 2011) in room 2319 which was on the 3rd floor on the lower hotel bldg. There was a tree that seem to be the home of hundreds of cherping birds that will wake you up a dawn without fail. I do not recommend anyone staying on that side of the hotel. The Jaccuzi did not work for a couple of days. The maintenence staff told […] us that water could not be added to the steam room even thou the instructions on the wall stated that you can. Go figure! As far as the overall stay was concerned, I did like the hotel and staff. I do recommend this hotel. If you like being downtown shopping, this hotel is not within walking distance. Läs mer

"Great Hotel, But only Average Food"
This hotel is a nice find. Not too far from town, yet none of the town noise. Only two complaints. First, my wife came to learn to scuba dive. They (The onsite dive shop) told her she could start the next day at 1:30. At 2:30 she was still waiting, and told the instructor was out with the cruise ship arrivals teaching them to dive. We learned who had […] priority. We went next door, a great place. All the cruise ships dock next door. No problem, as we liked to see the big ships while we ate. However, it does block a small portion of the view of the beach. Second, the food is not really worth what they charge. You will average $30.00 - $40.00 dollars per meal for two. Much better deals are to be had in town. Also, the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM. By the time we returned from town or a night dive in the evening, they were closed. No other places are close by where you can eat late so be prepared. A taxi ride will cost between $7.00 - $12.00 to town each way depending on how well you negotiate. Also the printer was down in their business center. No easy way to print advance boarding tickets for your flight home. The free WIFI was spotty at best. Only seemed to work when seated in the lobby, and sometimes at the bar. On the positive side, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The air conditioning in our room worked great, and you will need it. Few selections on the TV, but you shouldn't come here to watch it anyway. We felt safe at all times, never a security concern. Our rental car in the parking lot was never bothered. We would stay here again. Läs mer

I have stayed at the La Ceibe previously. But this time the stay was even better. Except for the nearby construction I have no complaints.

"El Cid La Ceiba in Cozumel, Mexico"
The only thing we didn't like was having our view of the ocean blocked by cruise ships docked in front of the hotel. But it was interesting to see all the different ships, especially the "Allure of the Seas"- the largest cruise ship in the world.

Our first stay in Cozumel and Second El Cid experience. Our room was more dated than our last room in Mazatlan but the service was just as top notch as our last stay. Snorkeling in front of the resort was amazing and the heated hot tub by the bar made the rainy nights enjoyable. We would stay here again on our next trip to Cozumel.
The outside was comfortable and beautiful but far away from downtown. Coffee was so horrible we brought the pot back and asked for our money back. Could not drink it. Rooms were small and bathrooms were not good. Tub would not drain. People were nice enough. Jimmy was very helpful in guiding us to a great restaurant, La Mission. "nada recomendable"
Mal servicio en general. Hacian la limpieza del cuarto a las 4:00 P.M. de la tarde cuando yo salia a las 8:00 A.M.y decir que hacian la limpieza es mucho decir. la gente esta muy mal preparada y con muy poca vocación de servicio. no regresaría a este hotel, pero si a Cozumel es un paraiso.
