Clean, comfortable room in friendly small hotel. Great location, across from 7 mile beach. The free brekky was great, oatmeal, eggs, toast, fresh fruit and yogurt started the day off beautifully. The fish tacos and free mini ice-cream cones seved for lunch were also a wonderful surprise. This hotel is the best value hotel and just across from 7 mile beach. Very clean and friendly. The grill is our favorite restaurant in Grand Cayman.

I vacationed with my nearly 12 month old and this hotel was THE PERFECT venue, hands down. At her age, the kitchen was a huge bonus (heating bottles, preparing meals, etc.) The staff could not have possibly been more accommodating! They were considerate, friendly and thoughtful; I simply couldn't ask for more. Also be sure to check out the restaurant around the corner on the main road; delicious and also moderately priced. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is super convenient (if you cannot afford beachfront). Though you do cross a busy road. Once you cross the street, you're at the beach entrance. It's not perfect, but worth the money saved. It's on the main road and perfectly suited for evening strolls. I traveled in Dec and strolled with the baby all the way to Camana Bay (mall) to see the Christmas decorations which were GORGEOUS!! Bottom line, this property is the best kept secret! We needed to extend our visit a few more days and moved into Sunshine Suite after staying a week in a nearby 5 star resort. We were very satisfied with the cleanliness, location, facilities.

We were skeptical at first as to the hotel/resort quality due to the price, because it was very reasonable. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, up to date and comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and appear to place customer service high on their list of priorities.

My wife and I honeymooned in late October on Grand Cayman and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunshine Suites. We got what we expected from being so close to gorgeous Seven Mile Beach, which is just a stone's throw from Sunshine Suites -- right across the street and between the Ritz and the Westin. So the beach is incredibly clean, accessible, and inviting. […] The water/sand is some of the best I've ever seen, and I consider myself a pretty astute beach bum... We've traveled internationally and stayed in too many hotels. If you're sick of the typical front-desk/concierge/uninspired restaurant situation, you should consider staying at Sunshine Suites. The front desk employees, led by Trina, are exceptionally helpful and willing to solve problems for guests. We're not the pickiest people, but we were pretty bummed out by Hurricane Rina storms raining on us periodically through our recent trip, and they went above and beyond to set us up with activities, rental car, etc. We really enjoyed talking with the staff and they helped get us into Island Mode to properly chill out. The food at the Sunshine Grill is so well reviewed for a reason. It's outstanding, flavorful, and reasonably priced (for Caymans...). They make great Painkillers and other cocktails at the bar, the fish tacos are incredible, and the burgers are big and juicy. Darrin, the restaurant manager, is one of the kindest people we've ever met in our travels. Chatting with him seems like you're talking to an old friend or relative. We were happy with the tiny kitchenette in our studio suite. The room on the small side, but just what we wanted for our honeymoon. We would prefer to cook for ourselves than eat out every night, so the type of apartment-like room was worth every penny. Aside from the friendly staff, the comfort of the room, the solid food/drinks at the restaurant, the grounds are also exceptionally clean. I stay in some great hotels with my business travels and this is not a 5 star by any stretch, but it's was nice and comfortable with cold AC that doesn't turn on and off all night waking you up. The hotel, room, and service were great, and a decent value for Grand Cayman. What we did not anticipate, and this was true all over the island, was that late September, being low season, meant a lot of things were closed. Hotel was refurbing pool and restaurant, so they were closed. Restaurant across street, for which we had made a reservation 8 weeks […] prior, was closed for 6 weeks and did not bother to let us know (and this was in the Westin, not a pizza place). I recently spent 6 nights and five wonderful days on Grand Cayman Island. The staff at Sunshine Suites were very friendly and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed and also made sure we knew that on Sundays everything is closed so that we were prepared ahead of time to make other plans-so we went to the beach! […] The beach was a very short walk across the street and they gave us towels and beach chairs to take with us to use. The bus stop was also very close and convienent. Everyone on the Island was so nice and friendly, we felt very welcome and comfortable wherever we went expecially for 2 women traveling alone. What a great surprise! We stayed at Sunshine Suites the first days of our honeymoon and were going to move to the Ritz, but cancelled our reservation after the warm welcome, service, and fantastic food we found at Sunshine Suites. The perfect non-assuming boutique hotel, with a little bit more than enough comfort, but not overdone, simple, super clean, […] very personable staff at a great price. It's not too big, either, which means breakfast and the pool don't get overcrowded. Oh, and did I mention the Sunshine Grill? Best fish tacos on the island, and the Pain Killers aren't too bad either. If you are not looking to drop $300-$500 dollars a night, but still want the comfort, cleanliness, service and location, Sunshine Suites is perfect! They were extremely helpful, the beds were wonderful and the food at Sunshine Grill is some of the best on the island! I will be staying there next time!

All the staff at this hotel was extremely friendly and accomodating. We were in town for a company function at the Ritz and stayed at Sunshine as a personal component to that trip since it was very close to the Ritz Carlton. When we checked out the lady on the registration desk offered to drive us to the Ritz in her personal auto. The sunshine "suites" may get good reviews by others, but this is barely an average MOTEL. What they offer… The basic Studio Suite is just one SMALL room, no partial wall, mini divider, etc to make it a “suite”. The Deluxe Suite gets two beds. To get a king bed, and an actual suite, get the 1 Bedroom Suite. The Room Overview… Bathroom is small with […] the door just missing the toilet. The “Full” kitchen has a mini-microwave, fridge, two burners for the stove and “bar” sink. There is a tiny table and two chairs. There is a small chair next to bed as the "living area". My Experience… Traveling for business, it becomes necessary to do work in the hotel. I was not able to sit at the table for any length of time. The table is so small, a laptop and a piece of paper cover enought of it there is no room left for a mouse! The chairs are uncomfortable and after a few minutes, the front bar of the chair caused my legs to start to go numb. Why did I stay here? I have been to the island before, staying at a different hotel recommended by the client. This time my wife was to travel with me as a special getaway, so I checked the ratings in different web sites to see if there was something better, while trying to stay on a work expense budget. This was listed as one of the best for business travelers and one of the top locations on the 7 mile beach strip. I figured it would be perfect. Luckily my wife could not make it! She would have been completely disappointed. I don’t know why it is ranked so high and wonder if the hotel is padding their reviews. The other hotel I have stayed at has their base studio with one bed in same amount of space as the Sunshine Suites has for their two bed “deluxe”. My opinion, that hotel gives more for the same price and has more “Comfort with their Suites”. I should have stuck with the client recommendation. Who am I to rate this hotel? Sunshine Suites and its bar/grill met and exceeded our expectations. While not located directly on the Seven Mile Beach, beach access near the Westin Hotel was a short walk away. The resort provided free beach chairs and towels and access. The hotel is a tremendous value. The staff was very good and accommodating. This hotel is where you want to stay. great place. if you want a good deal, this is it.

We have traveled all over the Caribbean. Grand Cayman, by far has the best, most welcoming culture. Sunshine Suites is definitely the place to stay! Great food, great service and half the price of the Westin across the street. We ate at the Sunshine Grill almost everyday, it has great food at a reasonable price. I could now say enough good things about the resort and staff. When we got there, I was running a fever, and very much out of it. We arrived early, around 1 pm, and checkin is at 3 pm. The room of course was not yet ready, so the desk manager: 1- Prioritized our room to be made ready, 2- let us into a conference room to sit while waiting for the room […] to be ready, 3- Took care of our luggage and got me a blanket to stay warm. 4- When the room was ready, he came back to the conference room, took us to the room, let us in and brought all the checkin paperwork to the room to take care off right there. He then brought our luggage (4 bags including dive gear) over from storage personally, brought me extra blankets and checked in on us several more time. All the above without even being asked. Great service and kindness. When I got worse, he arranged for a doctor to come in on a Saturday and personally drove us over to see him. The on-site restaurant has several excellent dishes, especially recommend the fish tacos. When checking out, they let us stay in the room several hours extra, since our flight was in the evening, and I was still running a fever. Bottom line, there are more expensive hotels that are more plush right across the street, but I would go back to that hotel again, because of the quality of the staff. Läs mer

Great,cheerful, hard-working staff, good location (cross the street carefully but most drivers slow for you, some stop), clean quarters, comfortable beds, super beach, and a good restaurant with reasonably priced food equals a wonderful vacation.

Sunshine Suites was great. Stayed there for a wedding happening at the Westin. Just a quick jump across the street to the beach (be sure to look both ways!) Room was a good size, with a kitchenette. I suggest stopping at Fosters Food Fair up the road and picking up some general groceries if you plan on staying more than a couple of days. Eating out […] on Grand Cayman gets pretty pricey. Restaurant was very good, pool area is quaint, but nice. No hot tub though which was my only gripe. Otherwise, great choice, much more reasonably priced then anything located nearby. Sunshine Suites is situated midway along Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman Island. It is not directly on the beach, but across the road in easy walking distance via a public access path. There is also public bus stops right near the hotel, allowing you to get to other parts of the island for a nominal fee. The hotel itself is very well maintained with […] a laid back atmosphere. The rooms themself come with cooking fascilities which come in very useful be it for that cup of coffee, or if you just want to eat in. There is also the convenience of a large supermarket within walking distance, as well as other places serving food. My boyfriend and I decided to visit the Cayman Islands on a whim and chose to stay at the Sunshine Suites after comparing the rates of various lodging options on the web. We went in with mediocre expectations which were far exceeded. The location, across from the beach, away from the street, was perfect. If it were up to me, we probably would've eaten […] at the Sunshine Grill for every meal since the food was outstanding and reasonable, not to mention the very appropriate island atmosphere (next to the pool surrounded by palm trees dressed in golden lights) and laid-back friendly staff. The complimentary breakfast was key since most of the other hotels charged a pretty penny for a continental breakfast. The hotel provides complimentary beach chairs and towels for you to take on your 5 minute walk to the beach. Staff was always extremely helpful and happily offered to make any and all reservations for our chosen activities. I highly recommend Diver's Down and Captain Dexter's tour of Stingray City. All in all, we wouldn't have changed a thing about our trip including our 5 night stay at the Sunshine Suites on 7 Mile Beach. Läs mer

If you are going to the Cayman Islands,a stay at the Sunshine Resorts is really a great idea. The rooms and service are fantastic. We saw many other locations near the beach that weren't nearly as nice. The restaurant and facilities were great. I didn't expect to have beach chairs and towels available to use every day. We have made several trips to Grand Cayman over the past 2 years and came away wondering why we never stayed here before. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff attentive to your needs. The on-site restaurant is first-rate and the free breakfast offers something for everyone. This hotel is a bargain and as anyone who has been to the Caymans […] will attest, that is a welcome change. I very much like the Sunshine Suites. Clean rooms and new furnishings along with the cable TV. I enjoy the restaurant both for breakfast and for dinner. The location, although not on the beach, cannot be better. We are in Cayman for business so the hotel offers us everything that we need.

Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. They provided free cell phones for use during our stay. On site restaurant had delicious food at reasonable prices. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
