It was a pretty good hotel. Nice and clean rooms. Nice quality for the price per room I paid. The neighboorhood wasn't the best, didn't have a lot of places to eat or shop. But not that far away from downtown with either car or bus. I would recommend this place to a friend if they wanted a nice and clean hotel on the cheap.

I booked the most cheap room on a special deal. Probably got the most poor room they have for this price. This hotel is average but has good value for the location. Other hotel on walking distance from center are more expensive. The staff working are friendly and the rooms are big with fairly good beds, big kitchen area, really big refrigerator. It is very easy to get to the hotel with the car. First night I got a room with an air condition with high noise vibration sound. The hotel was full so there was no possibility to change room. Not a big disaster - I could sleep OK and next day I got a new room. The hotel started to work on fixing the AC directly so I believe this was just bad luck. The new room was silent and good but there was ants in the bathroom and also some other big insect when I got home at night. Nothing in the room itself though. Last night and I did not want to mess and change room again. No problem from this. The hotel is just on the other side of the bridge from city center. The "bat bridge" is less than 5 minutes walking away. Easy to have a look at 10 thousands of bats flying out in the evening and then go out. If you like the music scene it is 20-30 minutes to walk (or 5 minutes with cab for ~$5) across the bridge up to 6th street and surrounding areas with lots of music bars. I would consider this hotel again if I couldn't find a really good deal with the hotels on the other side of the river. I would however try to get a room not on the bottom floor and maybe pay a few extra dollar to get away from the cheapest rooms.

"Great Location"
They were very accommodating for us since my husband was running the marathon. They allowed us a late check out to allow him time to shower after the race. The location and service at this hotel is excellent. They also opened the breakfast service early the day of the race to allow runners an opportunity to eat prior to the race. "Totally recommend for short or long stays"
I chose this hotel for my first ever visit to Austin. The check-in process was quick and easy, I stayed in a King Suite which was a very good sized room, with a very comfortable bed. The location of this hotel was perfect, only a short walk to restaurants, cafes,entertainment and public transport. They serve a good selection with their complimentary […] breakfast, so good that I set my alarm each morning to make sure I did not miss out, and they changed it up each day too, so I got to discover a different breakfast each morning. They also have a happy hour mon-thur with free beer or wine, I only took advantage of this 2 nights, however it was a friendly atmosphere, where each time I was greeted a I exited the lift. Their wifi only went down once over my stay, however the rest of the time it had good connection and speeds. Housekeeping were also great, they were quiet in the halls, and did a great job each day in my room. I was facing a street from the 9th floor and was amazed by how quiet it was in the room, even with construction next door, it did not effect me at all. The only cons I have are: They only offer valet parking at a cost of $23/night (at the time of my stay), there are other places around the road where you can get cheaper options however this was not too convenient. At this time (in winter when they were not fully booked) I was only able to obtain an extra 30 minutes late check out, and was only able to do this on the day of departure. This was not convenient for me as I had to book airport shuttles and had a late departure, however that is not the hotel's fault, I knew the check out times before booking. The room service is from 2 local restaurants across the road, not the best menus in my opinion, and it made it impossible to order food throughout the night after their closing hours. "Great location, slightly worn room"
This hotel is right in the middle of downtown. An easy walk from bars and restaurants on Congress and 6th streets. I didn't use my car at all while I was there. The lobby of the hotel looked nice and the staff were friendly, but my room looked a little more worn than I expect from a Hampton Inn. Everything was clean, but there were stains, scratches, […] etc. Also, the only hotel parking is valet. I believe you can park overnight in the public garage a block away. Läs mer
"Great Hotel, Great location"
The hotel was located walking distance to 6th Street which is where the night life is. There are lots of restaurants located within walking distance as well. The lobby is nice, the rooms are comfy. The breakfast was delicious but don't be late, they put everything away right at 10:00.

"Great Price, Great Location"
You can’t beat the price and the location of this hotel. The staff is always nice and friendly. Two complaints, the bed only had these small like decorative pillows, so I would suggest bringing your own, and the elevator was so slow. We had to wait 10 to 15 minutes if we used the elevator. Other than that the place was great.

Excellent location close to convention center, 6th street, restaurants, and the walking/jogging trails along the lake. Very friendly staff, good breakfast, etc. Only negative to me was the $23/night valet only parking.

My wife and I booked this location and were beyond satisfied. Location was perfect. Beautiful hotel. We had a suite and loved it. Valet service was great! Very friendly and convenient. Worth the $. The location is so good that we parked the truck with valet and didn't drive again until it was time to go home. Very central location. Walking distance […] to everything. "Great family stay at the Austin Hampton Inn"
Our entire stay was very comfortable and the hotel provided everything we needed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the many unique restaurants within walking distance. The morning breakfast got us started each day and was more than we expected. Upon request, the hotel management happily accommodated a small group of hotel guests to watch […] the Super Bowl in the common area so we got to know some fellow guests a bit, too. "Hampton Inn Austin Tx. Downtown"
We came in for the weekend.Our stay was great. The staff was very great . We were charged for two nights of valet parking , when we only used it for one. I noticed it on the bill the next day. I callled and they immediatly credited my account. Well worth the money and more.
The staff are very nice and friendly. Great location -- only 3 blocks from the infamous 6th street!

The only negative about this hotel is the lack of seating for all guest during the breakfast buffet. It's really not enough of an issue to discourage another stay at this hotel considering it's included in your hotel rate. Great location!

We've stayed at this location twice. Great value for the price. This hotel is in a great location. Just a couple blocks walking distance from 6th Street and other downtown fun. The staff is very nice and accomodating. Our room and bathroom were very clean and updated. Have stayed at other hotels in Austin, but we prefer to stay here when there is availability. Great hotel & very helpful staff. Breakfast was great and the hotel location is perfect. with 3 restaurants within 100 yds and the entertainment is easily walkable.

Parking is $23.00 per day, but other than that everything is included. There was free high speed internet, coffee maker, refrigerator and ironing board. This hotel is in the heart of the city and within walking distance of most of the night life. I had a King suite which was a very large room and very comfortable. There was a “wet” smell to the room […] when I first checked in, but that faded as I was there or I just got use to it. The breakfast was nice with hot and cold selections and the happy hour was OK too. There was a lot of street noise, so if you are a light sleeper this may not be the hotel for you. Läs mer

"One-nighter"
Very cool hotel with good breakfast. Very clean and professional. Has old-school hotel feel to it. Every kind of food you want within two-three blocks. Some construction going on downtown across the street, so kind of noisy during day.
"Perfect Location"
Close enough to walk everywhere, especially my favorite restaurant PF Changs:) The only downfall is the required $23 per night parking. It's convenient but wish it costed a little less

For a first time in Austin, the location of this hotel was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere and there were plenty of nearby restaurants, bars, and clubs. We stayed in a suite, which was large and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay downtown, and will stay here again the next time I visit!
"Close to venue"
We were in Austin 2 nights & were pleased with Hampton Inn's distance to Austin City Limits at the Moody Theatre. Breakfast included & free happy hour. We would stay here again. Lots of great sights & restaurants within walking distance.
"Decent Hotel Friendly staff"
Decent Hampton Inn, Staff was overly friendly. Free happy hour had Draft Miller Lite, wine and chips and nacho cheese. Great little snack before going out to dinner. Valet was little pricey but thats downtown Austin. Overall nice hotel
"Gave me keys to someone else's room"
I checked into this hotel and they gave me the room key to a room that was occupied. Thought it was funny for a bit but when I thought about what of it was my room that they gave someone else the keys to, I realized a lot of bad scenarios could have been played out. Then they have me a key to a room that wasn't as nice.

"Hampton Inn- Great downtown Austin location"
Great location in downtown Austin. Walking distance to many sites. Only a five minute walk to 6 St and all of the restaurants and bars. Reasonably priced for the fantastic location. Parking fee of $25 a day was a little outrageous but that's what all the surrounding hotels were charging. Hotel was clean and quiet. Good mix of businessmen and families, […] but never heard any noise in the room from anyone. The rooms were nicely updated. Breakfast was of course great. Good variety and fresh waffles was the cherry on top. The breakfast attendant was great in the mornings. It was busy so she stood there making waffles for everyone so we didn't have to wait. Considering the breakfast is normally self serve, that was great customer service in my opinion. Läs mer

Beautiful, decorated for the holidays, friendly staff at all hours of the day and night, great valet service. Loved my comfy room although I did find the bed a little tall. That's the only bad thing I can say- everything was perfect. I would stay here every time I visit Austin.

Used the vallet parking and next moring when trying to leave they could not get vehicke out. Simeone from the night before lost the key card to enter the garage. Waited 45 min to get vehicle.

"Perfect place to stay."
I go to Austin a few times a year, and this was my first time staying at the Hampton. I think it was by far my favorite place to stay. The location was perfect considering what I paid. Every staff member that I interacted with was friendly, and they would always help me with directions or streets. Valet service is reasonable. The breakfast is perfect, […] there's a little bit of everything and it was a little bit different everyday (Who doesn't love free breakfast?) This hotel is one of my favorites and I'll be going back to this one for all my future Austin visits. Läs mer
"Valet"
Great service, but I was disappointed with the valet service's attitude toward arriving guest. If a guest is checking in they should be more understanding of the process. One individual made the check in process very unpleasant. The valet service needs a little more training in this area.

"Hampton Inn Austin close to everything you need"
Great Location. 6th Street is a blast and it is a nice 3 block walk away to the heart of it. Also, walk distance to the warehouse district, probably a mile away. It has a great bar/restaraunt behind it in the Cedar Door.

"An above-average experience"
The Hampton at 200 San Jacinto, Austin was better than I was expecting for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is that there was construction going on next to the hotel which occasionally would make unwanted noise... but that is out of the control of the hotel. The best part was the continental breakfast, it had […] things from sausage links, mini-omelettes, cereal, fruit, coffee+tea. I was attending the American Astronomical Society conference, which was extremely convenient since the hotel was a 3 minute walk from the Convention Center... another plus. Läs mer

"Affordable for the location"
The hotel location is great: within a block of the convention center. The breakfast is quite good and the M-T afternoon manager's reception is also generous. The room was clean and well maintained.
"This hotel is a nice stay, and a great value"
This hotel is very posh, and much cheaper than the surrounding Radisson and Hilton. In addition to better room rates, you get much more - free full breakfast bar and free wifi, along with a pool and exercise room, and a fridge in your room. The bed was very soft and comfortable, and the pillows fluffy. My only complaint about my room was the height […] of the sink. I can't believe they made the sink so high, and put a huge counter space in front of it. I am 5'4" - the exact average height for a woman in the U.S. - and the counter was much too tall. To top it all off, I'm 7 months pregnant, and trying to bend over this huge counter lip they put in front of the sink was very uncomfortable. Bad call on the remodeling, Hampton Inn. Läs mer

Overall I had a pleasant stay: nice room with a comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff, and a good location near the convention center and downtown Austin. There were some odd problems with the TV system while I was there, and the fitness room was small and poorly ventilated (it got pretty steamy in there with a few people exercising, and it's not quite […] as described: there are some free weights but no weight machine), but really these are only minor niggles. Breakfast was decent and is included in the price; I do hate disposable plates, flatware, etc., and it's always disappointing to find out that's what you have to use, but I suppose it's standard at this price.
