Hotell The Beekman Tower Hotel - New York

Inte mycket trafik utanför hotellet för att vara på Manhattan. Trevlig, hjälpsam personal. Litet och rent rum, dock en unken lukt i rummet. Rummet har antagligen tidigare varit "Rökning tillåten". I korridoren utanför rummet stank av gammal cigarettrök.

The Beekman Tower Hotel. Superior svit - med 3 sovplatser. Vi var 3 stycken killar i 20-årsåldern som i början av september bodde 3 nätter på hotellet. Hade möjligtvis förväntat oss ett något mer "fräscht" hotel med tanke på bilder från hemsidan samt omdömen från tidigare gäster. Hotellets plats var helt OK med tanke till priset. Områdena precis […] runt hotellet kanske inte var dom finaste men en bit bort blev det bättre. Hyffsat behagligt att ta sig runt till fots, cirka 15 min att gå till Times Square för att ta ett exempel. Men för längre resor rekommenderar jag starkt att ta taxi då det tar längre än man tror att ta sig nåra "blocks" bort. Eftersom vi var 3 personer som delade boende så blev sovlösningen att det fanns en dubbelsäng, samt en bäddsoffa. Sovytan var ungefär lika stor på bägge. Att det fanns kylskåp i rummen var väldigt praktiskt och bra. Överlag så tycker jag att hotellet var helt OK med tanke på priset. Och eftersom att vi mest var där för upplevelsen och shoppingen så dög det bra för oss. Vill man ha lite högre standard på resan så bör man kanske välja ett annat hotell, annars fungerar det här bra som tillhåll under resan! Läs mer

Hotellet är lite bedagat, men trevligt och bra placerat i New York. En familj kan med fördel bo tillsammans i en av sviterna, det kostar inte mer än att hyra 2 rum på ett annat hotell. Vi hade fin utsikt åt både stan och East River. Restaurangen Top of the Tower har bra mat och bedårande utsikt. Vi hade bokat en superior suite då det inte skiljde mycket i pris samt vi var tre personer. Bilderna på hotellets beskrivning såg väldigt trevliga ut. På plats fick vi först ett rum på 2:a våningen med utsikt över en renoveringsplats utanför samt en vägg. Vi klagade och de fixade då ett rum direkt på 10nde våningen istället. Men det hade inget sovrum, […] som vi beställt. Enligt dem va de fullbokade. Vi fick sova två nätter i det mindre rummet innan vi tillslut blev flyttade till det rum vi skulle haft från början. Det var stort, fräscht med bra förvaring och ytor. Detta rum hade en annan ingång lite längre upp på gatan, det är de rum som redan blivit lite renoverade, hotellet håller på med resterande rum om vi förstod det hela rätt. Men personalen var väldigt mottagliga för den kritik vi hade och var väldigt hjälpsamma! Vi bokade hotellets transport till flygplatsen då det inte skiljde mycket i pris mot de andra vanliga transporterna där man dessutom måste åka runt och hämta andra resenärer. En trevlig överraskning blev att det var en stor vit limousine som vi fick åka med. Inget högre pris eller annat som tillägg. Mycket bra slut på vistelsen! Rooftoppen på hotellet är värt att ta ett glas vin i innan man ger sig ut på stan. Läs mer

Har bott på två andra hotell i N.Y. tidigare.Det här hotellet var bäst med sitt kök och många delishops mycket nära. Alla taxidrivers vet var F.N. ligger.

Om man vill hitta ett prisvärd svit med ett sovrum för familjen ,men be om en extra filtar på vintern.

Hotellet ligger ganska centralt med ca. 10 min. promenad till femte avenyn. Rummet hade pentry så vi kunde laga enklare mat själva, och en liten livsmedelaffär låg tvärs över garan. Tyvärr pågick reparationsarbe på hotellet som störde oss lite.

Vi var två vuxna och en tonåring som bodde sju nätter på Beekman Tower. Trots att det är mitt på Manhattan, så får man en lugn och rymlig lägenhet. För oss var det en oas att vila ut i. Vi hade sjöutsikt och god standard på rummet med bla dubbel A/C och även två TV-apparater. Möblerna är något slitna och lever inte upp till betyget. Städningen är frekvent, […] men ytlig ( exempelvis fanns föregående gästers skräp under sängen). Direkt något inte fungerade, som exempelvis en lampa, så kom "hotellingenjören" och fixade det. Vi spenderade fem nätter på hotellet och bodde på tionde våningen. Rummet var rymligt och ljust och mycket praktiskt med bra förvaringsmöjligheter och eget pentry inkl kyl/frys, micro, spis. Städpersonalen ställde varje dag iordning rummet väl inkl diskade och allt kändes bekvämt. Tyvärr verkar hotellet ej ha någon vidare miljöpolicy då alla våra handdukar […] byttes ut varje dag trots att vi hängde upp dem ordentligt. Hotellet låg på gångavstånd till flera trevliga restauranger och butiker och det var lätt att ta buss/subway/taxi i närheten till andra destinationer när vi så önskade. Läs mer

This is my second stay the Beekman. I like the location for mid town appointments. The rooms are a suite with kitchen, living room and bedroom. Sure each room is small but having been in a few friends apt's in NY made me feel like this was my own place. The service was fast and simple they had my reservation and check in only took a minute. The room […] was clean and service was good. Ate at the nations Cafe across the street for breakfast and stopped at the Starbucks 2 blocks away on 2nd ave which got my morning started off great. If you want feel like you live in NY for week or so this is great little hotel. Läs mer

Thid place hasn't been updated ever. Good location but thsts about it. Room was big but super outdated

We were iIn pet room. Capet was very poor and had small area of separation,visible concrete. Also had some exposed carpet tacos(ouch). Room smelled like smoke The configuration of room was good with sm kitchen. Area was quiet for the city. However adjoining room doors slammed easily and loudly. Hotel lobby was beautiful. Had quite enjoyed my stay at the Beekman hotel until towards thye last two days of my over two weeks stay. My kitchen sink had a leaking problem, to which the hotel plumber promptly responded to and came to fix, however some of my food that had been in the kitchen cupbopard had been spoilt by the dirty water from the sink. I contacted the hotel manager […] on duty, who was apparently very impolite and uncooperative. He told me there was nothing they could do about my 'spoilt' groceries and ehcne I must not expect anything. The least i expected was coutersy out of an un-anticipated incovenvenience. The Manager was very rude and almost the banged the phone down on me, promised to call back but never did. I had intended to take the matter up further on the next day but decided otherwise as i thought it unnnecessary to drain the energy out of me. A sincere and genuine apology from the hotel would have been appropriate. i was extremely disappinted after what had been a fairly above average stay for me and my coallegues. the staff tried to put me in two rooms that looked at a concrete wall or scaffolding. Then they took me to the next door "dormitory building". I finally accepted a generous sized room that looked directly at an apartment building next door. The building is old, outdated with an unpleasant lobby. very nice,quiet and clean hotel. We stayed at a suite room which was so comfortable and with relax. We wanna come back there soon again, and would like to recommend to my friends.

We returned to the Beekman after staying there years ago and were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and attentive. While the overall condition needs a bit of attention, the restaurant view at at the top was awesome! We would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. Our room was a suite with a pull out sofa and kitchenette. The most noticeable improvement that could be made would be replacing the old green carpet that had seen many years of service. However, the room was very clean and everything worked. You can't go wrong for the price. The best thing is the 26th […] floor Top of the Tower restaurant and bar which has great views in all directions. Great hotel, and superior convenience - love the suite layout and the kitchenette is ideal! Second visit, and the first stay vs. second, regarding room anemities, was day and night! Luck of the draw is not unique to this hotel, I'm sure. Enjoy!!

I can definitely see where this hotel was once quite nice and the retro theme could be lovely BUT this hotel is ready for a major overhaul. I had to call the desk several times to get needed items: towels, blowdryer, bed made up. Plugs were non-functional; bathroom taps were leaky; curtain rods were old fashioned and did not curve outward so you had […] to fight with the shower curtain while showering. Despite requesting a non-smoking room we were given a smoking room. I was told requests are never guaranteed. My asthma and I had a hard time accepting this response. They did change us to a non-smoking room but not without my insistance...cough, cough, wheeze, wheeze...not a great way to begin a holiday weekend in New York. we made the best of it and while it was not uninhabitable, I would not recommend this hotel nor would I stay there again. Stayed in this hotel during the President's day long weekend. The hotel is doing construction on the second floor, and it happens to be the floor we are staying. No other rooms are available since its busy weekend. The windows are blocked by scafolddings so there aren't any view. The water is yellowish but it eventually cleared out. There is no hair […] dryer so make sure bring your own. Its a studio so it comes with a kitchenette with a mini gas burner. Burner doesn't work (it doesn't lit), and there are no pots and pans, rendering the kitchen almost useless with the exception of a small microwave we use to heat water for tea. Therefore, not sure why they have kitchenette in the first place... The room is fairly good size, but not much furnishing, just lots of useless empty space. I wish they will consider to upgrade their bed to at least king size, since space not seem to be an issue. The bed is pretty aged. We can actually feel the springs poking out on strategic places. We didn't mind as much since with our full schedule during the day, we pretty much passed out directly when returned to the hotel. We did check out the restaurant at the top level of the hotel "Top of the Tower" for breakfast. The view is excellent and the omelete is delicious. Monday morning, the construction starts, and you can feel the room shaking. I guess its the hotel's way of reminding you its time to checkout. The serving staff in hotel generally have good attitude, however I wish the hotel is more "equipped" and letting the customer know they are in the middle of the construction, and perhaps close the construction floor instead of renting it out to customers. Since this is a mid-price range hotel, I expect a little bit more of quality. I have stayed in much cheaper hotel in Manhattan with much better room quality (and yes, they have hair dryer). In summary - the experience is not what you paid for. I would recommed people to stay away unless there are no other choice. Läs mer

We had a lovely weekend staying at the Beekman. It was like having out own apartment in the city. There was plenty of room, a beautiful location and was very convenient. We will definitely stay there again when we go back to NYC.

We ended up with a room in the adjacent building which did not have a hotel feel at all. Narrow noisy entry, furnishings tired and worn, old small tv. Staff were very helpful and for the price it wasn't a bad deal, though the shower never got hot for us. It fit the bill for our one night but I wouldn't go back. PROs The hotel is a charming '30s tower by the East River, facing the UN HQ. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is in a safe and quiet neighborhood, within a few blocks from good restaurants, even if it takes at least 20 min to the main attractions of Midtown. Room have amazing views and are huge. Beds are very comfortable, linen are clean. Restaurant […] is great: food and view. CONs Furniture (except from mattress) is outdated Wifi is available but incredibly overpriced We spotted a well-grown beetle happily walking on the carpet (but I guess it's pretty normal in such an old building...I guess...I hope!) We have stayed at the Beekman about 6 times. and we always enjoy are are stay. the Beekman is a nice hotel and the view from the Restaurant on the 29 floor is vary nice

I was upgraded to a suite and it was pretty big - more like an old-fashioned one bedroom apartment than a traditional hotel suite. That was nice since I had a lot of work to do and could spread out. The whole place had more of a pre-war bldg feel than a hotel feel, incl the old (but charming) furniture and the (worn) carpet. I did not like that there […] was no inside lock or bold on the door (only the card-key lock). But the staff is friendly and the price was right. Pros: Hotel staff was all incredibly helpful, from front desk to the bellhops. Location was great- Walking distance to Times Square or just hop on the bus for a few minutes. Cons: Nearly impossible to get an early check-in but were willing to hold our bags for us. Room was clean but sofa sleeper was stained all over. Great location and huge rooms for NYC with good beds. Love the Top of the Tower on the 26th floor for fantastic views of the City. Could not get good wireless reception in the east wing and the hotel furnishings are dated but fine. Good to have a little kitchen if you like being able to stop at the Deli.

All was great, just a little disappointed by the fact that there was nothing to cook a little in the small kitchen. only one frying pan ! I had to ask for a kettle to boil water for my tea ! it would have been nice to have a simple pot and other accessories to be able to cook pasta or rice !

Excellant location and convenient crosstown bus nearby to connect to all subways & major shopping area in midtown NYC -- Staff very courteous and rooftop breakfast & dinner available with majestic views of NY skyline.

We had never stayed on this side of Manhattan before and found the neighborhood to be charming. Its more residential than we're used to, and its a very nice residential. Our room was a suite and very spacious. It had a small kitchen, which we didn't use. Having separate rooms to sleep was perfect for our family of four. The staff was more courteous […] and kind than other NYC hotels. A trip to the top floor for the views is a must while staying here. This hotel is older and it shows. It doesn't compete with the fancy newer or remodeled hotels; however, the price is the same. It was comfortable, though. There is a parking garage in the same block if you don't want to use the hotel valet; however, its overpriced. We found out after the fact that we could have gotten validation from the hotel for a few dollars off, which doesn't make much difference. There are less expensive garages a few blocks away. Its a 15-20-min walk to Rockefeller Center, and practically next door to the United Nations. What would have made our stay better is a less expensive parking options made known to us. There are many nice places to eat in the area that are much less expensive than those in Times Square. We would stay here again if we could get a better rate. Läs mer

If you are looking for space in the city, this is it! Huge space with a full kitchen. A trifle dated and worn in most areas but for the price/space you can overlook the flaws. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was quiet and a number of food offerings in the immediate walkable area. Definatly plan to make a return trip to the Beekman Tower.

Overall a good experience and loved the 26th floor views! Would suggest updating carpeting and couch, they are old and worn. I would stay again on business for location and good price point.

The Beekman is a bit worn around the edges but that makes it all the more classic in my view. My room was spacious for a mid-town hotel in this price range. the staff was nice and the restaurant on the top floor, with its terrific view of the East River and surrounds is a bonus.
