Beautiful old building with large rooms, staff very nice and tries to speak english when possible. Take the time to look around the hotel and the architecture. Arrive at breakfast at off-peak times to avoid sitting under the bird cages.

Assigned us to a different type of room than what was booked. We were placed on the street, and on a Saturday night is an all night noise fest. Horrible experience.

We highly recommend this hotel. The location is perfect in the middle of Zona Rosa. Close to restaurants, shops, transit. Walking distance or a short cab ride to major locations. Good Hotel in a nice location. Our room wasn't on the street and therefore we heard no noise. The staff was great. Overall a really nice experience. Neighborhood was really active, but also felt very safe

The hotel lobby is beautiful and in general the rooms are ok, although the furniture and carpet are a bit outdated. The washroom was modern and clean. The internet service was not so good. I couldn't keep a normal conversation on skype and the calls kept droping all of the time.

I had a major dispute when the hotel refused to honor a hotel taxi charge to my room after they assured me there would be no problem. They claimed a $ 150.00 MXP additional fee for doing so. I contacted the concierge and he fed me a line of baloney. The manager, Sr. Barrera refused to see me or answer my emails. I should note that Sr. Barrera is quick […] to respond to any semi positive review on Trip Advisor. They reneged on a promise and then insisted on cash only. They cannot be trusted. Very nice and charming historic hotel in Zona Rosa. Surrounded by bars and night places. Central location near Reforma and more upscale hotels, and office buildings. Good service by staff.

The location offers many conveniences although the Zona Rosa is going to seed. The furniture in the room was a bit old and the carpet needed cleaning. The wifi was unreliable and sending emails was at times frustrating.

The Hotel Geneve is a great hotel to stay in Mexico City. I found it was in a great location – close to a metro station – “Insurgents” and in a vibrant district. Ok not quite the charm of the Condesa or historic districts but close to restaurant, and cafes. I didn’t actually notice the strip clubs!. I like walking and it was not too far too walk to […] the Anthropological museum or up to the Historic District. Rooms are big, clean, with very comfortable beds, linen and pillows. I do agree with some of the comments that you do need to ask for a quiet room at the back. Originally I did have a room to the side where I could hear the nightclub and I asked to move and they were able to move me to a quieter room with no problem. The lounge is interesting and it is obvious the Hotel Geneve has had an interesting past- there is a book and displays on the walls but it is a shame that everything is in Spanish and there isn’t some English translations. I had room service one night and food was very tasty and service was quick. Reception spoke very good English and were very helpful. You can get Taxis from the lobby although they are expensive at least you know they are safe – although I mostly travelled around using the metro which is 4 pesos a ticket and extremely easy to navigate around, and safe (as long as you take all the normal precautions in any big city) (Taxi to airport is 240 pesos). Worth staying if you want a hotel with a bit of character rather than some usual business hotel. Läs mer

The location is good. The lobby is really amazing. But that's all. Room is simple, with dirty carpet. We stay there 4 nights. At the last night, there was no hot water in the bathroom. When I got to my room I was very dissapointed, the room was nothing like the pictures were and the room description said. I was taken to a room with a view of trash cans and at night the noise was horrible. I could hear the clubs near by at 4:00am. Very dissapointed with this hotel. This was supposed to be a 4 star hotel - I would rate it a 2.5.

This is an old hotel, built in 1907, that has been maintained beautifully. Everything about it speaks of style. The service is extraordinary and staff anticipate your needs. It's smack in the center of the Zona Rosa with many restaurants around. The concierge is an excellent source of information and can meet your every need.

winderful European style hotel, built in 1907, like a museum or a mansion inside. Staffs speak good English and are very helpful. Inside restaurant looks like a tropical forest, very soothing, price is fair too, a little over 200 pesos for main dish. There are authentic mexican restaurants in within two mins walk, metro and bus station atmre close.

An iconic mexico city hotel in excellant condition. Service was the best and all of the staff always friendly. Hotel restaurant was reasonable and great and there were many more within walking distance. Drinks at the bar were pricey. Beds are very comfortable and if we had a complaint it would be that the bathroom was too small. Taxis always out front […] and most things you want to see in DF are very close. Subway two blocks away to go anywhere in the city. We were surprised at the number of gay men in the neighborhood but no one ever bothered us. we have stayed at, and loved geneve for many years. it is still beautiful---but the neighborhood has failed so badly that the hotel is barely viable any longer, and the service is now far less responsive than a good hotel should be. the neighborhood is now mixed s & m shops, street sleepers, flamingly . marginal to walk around at night. the area restaurants […] are primarily chains---chilis, mcdonalds, etc. pity --it was once a geat place to stay. Beautiful hotel with some great historical artifacts. Also great location. However beds and rooms can be very small. Amazing restaurant. Be careful about getting taxi or tours as they are quite expensive.

We arrived at the hotel at 13 but no doublebed rooms were available for check in. When we got back after some sighgseeing there was only one room with a doublebed left. This was next to the icemashine which was very load! Had to request a change to a room with a twin bed and ended up next to the hotel air con which was equally bad. Next day our saftey […] box turned out to be locked by the previous guest. Reception notified us that someone would come to the room to help. This turned out to be a handy man who needed to replace the safe with another one and screwing it out of the closet took 30 min. This delyed us for our bus so we did not have time to take the tube. Asked for a taxi and were given a guy with no meter and a totam rip off. Not serious for a hotel of this price! Do not recommend! Läs mer

clean, friendly, helpful hotel. close to wonderful restaurant. beautiful lobby that can really be used. we stayed on the fourth floor and our room was very quiet from outside noise. however ours was a connecting room and we could hear voices thru the double doors. but no big deal. great hotel great value. room service was timely and good

last room retrofitting/decoration should be more than 10 years... small bedroom and bathroom. rooms facing the street are a bit dark, but those facing the opposite side are right open the window towards the roof of the podium... no plug adaptor can borrow... mini bar fridge was locked. only one tiny chair in the room..

The Hotel Geneve was a nice place to stay, all things considered. It's old, and a little ragged around the corners, but the service was excellent and friendly, and we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately I caught Montezuma's Revenge on day 2 of our 9 day holiday, so I spent 6 days in our hotel room. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were outstanding. […] Cleaning staff was fast and unobtrusive. The room service menu is a little disappointing. The air conditioning is good. Decoration is fine. Some additional attention needs to be paid to dusting and vacuuming the room. We requested a non-smoking junior suite and we were put in a smoking suite on night 1. This is a grand hotel with a great lobby. I really like the ambiance of the hotel, the bar and lobby. Room was clean and staff helpful. However, the hotel is in the zona rosa and on Friday and Saturday nights noise (or music!) from the neighboring bar/club could be heard into the wee hours of the night. But, during the week it was quiet.

The hotel is just beautiful. Room is big and clean. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful (they speak English). Locates at Zona Rosa which is quieter then Zocalo yet still very convenient. Lots of restaurants near by and a mall cross the street. Close by Angel de la Indepencia and Museum of Anthropology.
