This hotel is perfect for skiing and with a 1 bedroom unit has all the amenities that one would need. It is a GREAT VALUE, and easy access to the slopes and ski back a breeze. There was NOT a washer and dryer in the resort or room as stated in description. The locker had room for 2 ski's(snowboard) we had 4. The front desk said they could charge us for an extra one, but didn't follow up if we needed it or not. There were 4 in our party so we just brought the 2 boards up to the room which they didn't mind ud doing. There also […] was a fire alarm going off, when we got to the lobby, I expected someone there directing people to saftey or letting us know it was a mistake. We asked the front desk girl what was happening?? We could barely here cause the sirens were so loud, then another guest told us it was a false alarm. This place was perfect! We don't even ski, but wanted to get away to the mountains in the winter. Breckenridge was beautiful, and this hotel was incredible. We had the one-bedroom lodge (it was in a "hotel" but felt like you were in your own separate condo). It had high quality full kitchen, great balcony, separate bedroom, huge bathroom, fireplace, […] great TVs with DVD player, etc. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The heated parking was great as well, and you could take the elevator right up to your room. The location was great, about a block from the gondola that takes you to the slopes, and about 4 blocks from main street. The hot tubs and pool were amazing. Loved being able to swim outdoors when it was 10deg outside. Must cost a fortune to keep it heated. I tend to be a hotel snob and am not normally thrilled with hotels, but this is one that I absolutely loved. Läs mer

Great hotel, great location! would definitely stay here again. The gondola is across the street - you can use the underground tunnel. You can ski to within 50 yards of the hotel. Very nice!

This hotel is is very well maintained and the staff are so friendly and helpful. They offer shuttle service to virtually anywhere in Breckenridge and you never have to wait more than a few minutes for someone to pick you up. The well heated pool and 2 hot tubs are alway stocked with towels and there are heated restroom/changing rooms poolside so you […] don't have to walk back to your building freezing. The location is not great for ski mountian access but it works, you can ski into lodge area, but you have a pretty long walk (or get a shuttle ride) to get to the gondola area, which will take you to chairlifts. If you have small children learning or new at skiing, Keystone is really the best place for skiing because they have lots of condos right in River Run village (right next to Gondola) and that GONDOLA goes to the top of the mountian, not chairlifts. But, Breckenridge has a lot more activities outside of skiing for the children...They are a short drive (10-15 min) from each other. We will stay in Mountain Thunder Lodge again when our daughter is a little older. Läs mer

Had an amazing time! Great place to stay and they have a shuttle that take you anywhere in Breckenridge. Room was very comfortable!

The one bedroom suite was a good size, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The shuttle service was a real boon. The lodge strives to exceed expectations and they certainly succeeded for our visit in December 2011.

My stay at Mountain Thunder Lodge was really fantastic. People are really very professional. The hotel is ideally located if you want to take the Breckenridge gondolas (5 minutes on foot). This was our fourth time to stay at Mountain Thunder Lodge in Breckenridge. Just a really great place to stay and convenient to slopes and shopping! The shuttle service was always available quickly and the staff was helpful and nice! We will definiety stay at Mountain Thunder Lodge on our next ski vacation.

I would highly recommend this lodge to everyone. My husband took me here for my birthday weekend and it was fabulous. The room was so cozy and comfortable, the location of the lodge is the best. It definately gets 5 stars from me.

Pros: It is very close to town near all the shops and restaurants and Gondola lift. Great shuttle service, Friendly helpful staff, nice garage If they had more room amenities, such as wide screen TV, DVD, an inhouse restaurant, and a few more modern ammenities or decor, I would rate this place a 5 star hotel. Great accommodations! Friendly staff, very helpful! The condo was very comfortable, so convenient to the gondola for skiing! We would definitely go back!

We really enjoyed the convenience of the location and privacy of the resort. Nicely furnished, great floorplan. Free shuttle service works like a well-oiled machine and makes the entire town accessible.

Stayed in a two bedroom Condo in August. Tremendous value for money at this time of the year. The condo is spacious, serviced daily. Gym, pool and hot tub very convenient. Mountain Thunder Lodge run a courtesy shuttle into Breckenridge. In any event its easy to walk into town but we did use the shuttle. My 2 Besties (from WA) and I wanted a mountain getaway so we could relax and enjoy each other's company. MTL didn't disappoint!! Our room was BEAUTIFUL and CLEAN, had a great view and was very quiet (4th floor, back side). I'm hoping to go there with my family later this Fall I loved it so much! It had an ideal location and the shuttle to and from restaurants […] and shops was FABULOUS!! We simply call for a ride and within 5-10 minutes we were picked up from wherever we were at! AWESOME!! The hotel is warm and beautifully decorated and the staff was so friendly!! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about MTL! There is no AC in the hotel, although our room came with a huge fan to help circulate air, and when it's cool in the evenings, simply pop open a window...Having no AC was an initial concern before arriving there, but it simply wasn't an issue since it was so cool in the evenings. I would, and will recommend MTL to anyone headed to Breckenridge! It was the perfect weekend getaway for me and my two best friends who just needed some R&R. My wife and I had a great time on a weekend getaway to Breckenridge. We booked a one bedroom condo, and it came complete with king bed (plus the sofa bed). Coffee and water were provided and the kitchen was fully outfitted. The condo was attractively furnished and had a small balcony where we enjoyed mountain views and wine. The shuttle service was […] prompt and friendly in delivering us to/from restaurants. The fire alarm went off the following morning, disabling the elevator for a while. The staff were most helpful with luggage while the elevator was being repaired. I don't expect the fire alarm to be a regular issue, so I would be pleased to book there again. Läs mer

The staff here is exceptionally friendly and helpful! We stay here every year because it is comfortable, very convenient to walk to restaurants and shops, and there is great hiking nearby. Only minus is no restaurant on the property.

Everything about this lodge is first class. The lodge is conveniently located with walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the chair lift. The employees are friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We couldn't have been any happier with Mountain Thunder Lodge. The front desk was very helpful on multiple occasions, the location was perfect, the room was better than expected, the secure parking garage was awesome, the gas fireplace was beautiful. We will 100% stay there again next time we travel to Breckenridge.

The condo was beautiful. Topnotch. Granite, rock fireplace, seemless glass shower. Friendly staff. Only complaint was housekeeping was supposed to leave coffee in room each day and I had to go to front desk and ask for it everyday! Bed was comfortable, pillows were not. Plug in bathroom did not work and could not reset GFCI switch. I would stay again […] because it was gorgeous and a super location. Front desk was very attentive to needs when asked. Läs mer

After reading reviews and other information on this site and others, we were a bit disappointed with the actual experience. Service: The staff at check-in and throughout the stay were very friendly and helpful, but the service was spotty. The first day they didn't give us the key to ski storage, and when we went the second day to get the key, it didn't […] work. Maid service one day didn't come until after we returned from skiing in late afternoon, even though we had left the room at 8 a.m. And the shuttle service, while great most of the time, failed to show up after two calls on a busy Saturday night, so we gave up and walked (and froze). Facilities: The room (1 BR) was just ok. It was very hot throughout the stay (in February!) with the heat and fireplace never on, and we had to resort to opening a window and the patio door to cool it down. Unfortunately, the snow plows run all night and are very noisy with the window open. The TVs were both antique CRTs. The kitchen counter was NOT granite, but was granite tile with a pine border. Not a big deal for functionality, but "granite countertops" suggested a level of luxury that was not there. Also, although the bathroom was spacious, with a tub, separate shower, toilet and two sinks, it's all in one big room, so it's not practical for several people to get ready at once unless you don't mind brushing your teeth while someone is taking a shower or using the toilet right behind you. Location: Good location, but it is ski-in (4 O-Clock run off of Peak 8 ends right behind the main building) but not ski-out. The gondola is "across the street" but to get there you need to walk from your building to the back of the main building, go down about twenty steps to the tunnel under the busy road, then up about twenty steps. This puts you in the south parking lot, and the gondola is another 100 or 200 yards away. All this is at 9000 ft, wearing ski boots and carrying ski gear. After the first day, we took the shuttle. My husband and I just stayed here for four nights and we loved it. The location is great, right by the gondola with ski-in access and walking distance to town. Some nights it was too cold to walk so we took the free shuttle to dinner, which was so convenient. The room was really nice and we loved having all that space with a kitchen, living room, balcony, […] fireplace, etc. It also had nice little touches like a humidifier in the room for that dry mountain air, free ski locker downstairs and free underground parking. We parked our car when we checked in and didn't move it until we left, which was so nice. Our only small complaint was that the room was really warm, even with the heat set on 50. We slept with the window cracked most nights. Overall we had a really great experience there and would definitely recommend it to others. Läs mer

Had a great stay. The room was super comfortable- felt like a home rather than hotel. Love the view of the mountains and distance to resturants and shops in town. The front desk staff was very helpful also. Appreciated that parking was free since it seems many hotel now a days jack up the prices with parking fees.

Awesome place. But be prepared...they will slap on additional surprise fees at the end of your stay. Expect to pay about 10% more in "Environmental" fees not explicitly listed in the initial charge.

Excellent summer weekend cooling-off opportunity at off-season room rate made for a pleasant weekend. Near downtown restaurants and shops. Can walk to ski gondola for free scenic ride to mountain base. The private parking garage was a bonus.

The Mountain Thunder Lodge is an amazing place to stay. There was amazing views and the room was very comfortable and updated. The front desk staff was wonderful. They put us in the best room available, which was amazing. The lodge is at a perfect location as the walk to main street was less than 10 minutes. The walk to the Gondolas was around 5 minutes. […] It was enough to put in more into the mountains but close enough to the shops and restaurants. There is a shuttle available as well if you don't want to walk. We loved this place so much we are already trying to plan our next trip up. Läs mer

Remember there are no A/C's in Breckenridge, so with open windows you will have street noise and late night party people. Ask to stay in the back for that reason. Go 4 wheeling, Rafting, Mining and stop in Idaho Springs to eat at TommyKnockers

Our pre-Thanksgiving stay was a great value. The weather conditions were perfect due to an early snow. You could walk to the gondola that took you to Breckenridge skiing (i.e. GREAT LOCATION). You could also walk to the downtown and to the City Market grocery store. Ask for an outside facing room if you need space and a larger bathroom. The room was very nice, as was the staff. All though the ski-in wasn't open this early in the season, the free shuttle to and from the gondola base was almost as convenient. The free underground parking was also unexpected. Will definately stay here again.

We will definitely return to Mountain Thunder Lodge. The only negative was that the pool was not that warm because they had a pump go out and they had to order parts when we were there. My kids didn't mind too much, there were still the hot tubs they could sit in we had activities planned everyday anyway. Not a big deal for us.
