I was at this hotel with my 12 year old son for a 4 day stay leading up to Orange Bowl 2013. The hotel is definitely a bit more family friendly. Check in was quick and easy and I was offered a free room upgrade upon arrival with a partial ocean view. The room was spacious, clean and everything was in working condition. The bathroom was the only area […] that was a bit small and there wasn't much counter space for toiletries. We made due with that. The closet space was generous and plenty to hold our belongings. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with our needs. They have a very small shop that has a few items so if you forget something there is a good chance you will have to go to a nearby store to find it. Food selection in the restaurant was good and the wait staff was friendly and attentive. The pool area was very clean and well kept. The pool was heated and pleasant to swim in. I was suprised that most of the chairs around the pool required a rental fee, even for guests. Access to the beach is directly off the back area of the pool and only a minute walk from the hotel. The beach area was small but quaint. Plenty of area to play frisbee and throw a football around without bothering other guests. Overall we enjoyed our stay quite a bit. Läs mer

Overall my stay was good. However, for a long lasting costumer (every year for the last 8 years) there were no provisions made for me when I requested a late checkout (I needed an extra hour).

This hotel is the worst I ever been, we stayed two weeks they never Hoover our room, if we want to use the hotel beds beside the hotel pool they charge you, they charge you to use the Gymn, etc... The pool looks like a dead place no music no waitress to serve nothing... Great place to stay for the price. It's not the newest hotel, but I found it as a very lovely place. Great private beach, not a lot of people. Staff was very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend it to families!

We booked this hotel for it,s location,right opposite bal harbour shops which was excellent. The hotel is old fashioned but comfortable. The bedrooms large and comfortable, however the bathrooms were tired and walk in shower and tiles would have benefitted from a good clean. Had to call for additional bathroom towels when it should have been provided for the amount of people that was reserved for. The coffe pot was not washed the last 2-3 nights. The pool had a couple of insects, seemed to have not been cleaned frequently. The towels provided for the pool/beach were very small. Nothing "fancy", but cllean and enjoyable. Felt like I was back in old Hollywood times - the little diner with Jose waiting on you, the cabana rental around the pool, the great valet service that ensured we got cabs "on time" when we needed them and the quaint everything else. Our rooms walk in closet was a nice treat and the turn down service without […] asking for it was a little special touch. Plenty of towels wherever you went. Great little Italian restaurant across the street and fabulous wine bar in the St. Regis Hotel next door. The beds were very comfortable - even took a two hour nap one day! The hotel is in an excellent location (a few minutes walk from Bal Harbour shops and an easy taxi ride to South Beach) and is on a lovely stretch of beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's one of the few deco-style buildings along that stretch of beach and has old-school charm.

Everything was great! But I would suggest a facelift for the exterior part of the building immediately! It gives a first bad (and wrong) impression. On the contrary, rooms were renovated an year ago and are cozy. The location is really good. Very clean hotel. Kind staff. Great value!

This hotel has long been the only place to stay in Bal Harbour. Well, no any longer, as there are quite a few new luxury hotels that opened up recently. Sea View dogs not keep up with the competition.. Sadly.

Our room was small but very clean, and fortunately we had a terrace -- nothing worse than having the windows sealed and only getting the air from the vent. The staff was very courteous and gracious, the service a little slow but we are from NYC so we are a bit uptight about service! My sister had a bigger room than us so I suggest you negotiate for […] the larger room, same price, and with luck you may get an ocean view! It is right on the beach so it was beautiful to walk by the water. Beware of the rip-tides though -- we did jump in the ocean, but it felt a little dangerous. The Bal Harbor Mall nearby is exquisite but as high end as they come. The restaurants are good, and down the street along the Surfside strip there are a lot of great places too. I read all the reviews on all the hotels within our price range and this was a fair hotel for the price we paid, good points, free breakfast - not great but saves you hunting for a place to eat other than the hotel and it was adequate - room very clean not very big but again adequate, fantastic bus service bottom of the drive, to aventura mall, massive […] shopping - and places to eat incl cheese cake factory give it a try - also went to south beach and each journey is only 2 dollars each- bargain - hotel staff ATi the pool and the beach were great - did not appreciate paying for loungers both poolside and on the beach, there was some free seating but in the busy months they would be taken - for the price we paid - we were very pleased wth our choice Läs mer

The staff is very helpful and friendly. After one day they knew are names. Very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Great view of the Biscayne Bay and Collins Ave. from our room on the 10th floor. Since we were there in the "off" season, the Gift Shop was not open, but the concierge was able to help us. There is a charge per day for valet or self […] park. We did self park. It cost the same. Also a charge for lounge chairs at the pool area and the beach. The complimentary breakfast was a surprise add on. Lots of breakfast items to choose from. Next time we will get an ocean view room! Läs mer

It was awful, even worse than 3 stars! I dont know why, considering the location of this hotel, no one buys this property and rebuilds a new one in its place!!! I left the place...the free breakfast is a joke....go to a Mac donads! Dont book this one...

Spacious and comfortable room although bathroom quite small with no shelf spacce for personal items. No separeate makeup or dressing area. Bed, linens and pillows quite nice. Huge walk-in closet. Very clean. Dining area small. Neeeded more wait staff. Continental breakfast was adequate for a woman but not a man - food fair. Ammenities nice.

The hotel offers adequate facilities, but not spectacular, and not worth the cost. The personnel is cold, inefficient, and at times rude. One of the most annoying aspects is that guests are made to pay for any non-basic service, pool towels, pool lounge chair, parking (even a 5 minute drop off). I would not recommend this hotel to others.

After an aweful day in traffic we finally got to our hotel and it was great, huge pool,private beach, reasonable prices on everything and the food was good to. Only thing to watch out for is that there is 18% Gratuity on all food and beverage so you don't need to add a tip which they don't mention but overall had a great time with friendly staff.

I had Front desk to me calling me at 9:45 PM to tell me that the TV in my room is to loud and my neighbors couldn’t sleep. I can assure that the TV was not loud. This is unacceptable.

The room we booked through Hotels.com was terrible. I was told the online room was deeply discounted and therefore the only type of room offered at that rate. After complaining to the manager, we moved to another room but only the following day at an additional cost of $30 per night, otherwise we had to stay where we were. In the new room we had to […] call housekeeping to spray the bathroom for ants! In addition to that, this was the only hotel I have ever stayed at that charged you $5 per day, per lounge chair around the pool area. They requested that my two children ages 2 and 6, not make noise in the pool area due to the echoing of sound off the adjacent buildings. Obviously the Sea View Bal Harbor resort is NOT children friendly! I will NEVER stay there again nor will I recommend it to any family or friends. Very disappointing experience! Läs mer

This hotel is excellent value for money. Third time we've visited and the hotel is always clean and comfortable, with friendly staff offering great service. The complimentary continental breakfast was an unexpected bonus, but a little more variety in the breakfast offering itself would be good.
