Trevligt, rent och väl fungerande hotell med både pool och minigolfbana på området. Bra för övernattning om man ska vidare till Marocko, då det ligger endast fem minuters gångväg från hamnen.

Perfekt läge om man skulle ta båten till Marocko,eller gå intill kajen.Har nog sett sina glansdagar,men väldig fin foalje och utefasad och stora fina rum,dock var dörren till rummet skev så man fick ta i för att den skulle slå igen ordentligt!

Oerhört prisvärt hotell som andas mer Afrika än Europa i sin arkitektur. Poolen är trevlig, personalen är mycket serviceminded och vi kan verkligen rekommendera detta boende om man vill vara nära Gibraltar och Afrika. Kockarna visade även prov på stor kreativitet och stort mod, då min fästmö fick en lilafärgad kikärtsallad.

Detta hotell låg på gångavstånd till Algeciras och var i fint skick. Inredningen och möblerna i rummen hade dock ett gammaldags utseende. Parkeringen var gratis och det fanns gratis tillgång till datorer med Internetuppkoppling och skrivare. Det fanns även en fin frukostbuffé. Hotellet rekommenderas för alla som planerar att övernatta i Algeciras.

Hotellet ligger i en stor vacker park nära centrum. Algeciras är en hamnstad men det är nära till Tarifa och Gibraltar samt naturligtvis Marocko. Frukost och buffémiddag var utmärkt. Hotellet är en upplevelse trots brister.

A lovely traditonal hotel in super gardens, the staff where great and very helpful. Good food, buffet breakfast better on the weekends when more people staying but always nice, the evening meals were exellent with great wines suggested. Enjoyed my stay of 8 nights. Convenient 10min walk to train and bus station for my excursions.

I booked this Hotel because of its historical Spanish values and its locality to visit Gibraltar. I visited it with my wife and we found it lovely. The receptionist was very welcoming. I stayed half board and found the buffet very lacking with poor quality and choice. There is an a la carte restaurant which I did not use so cannot comment. The front desk people were very very nice and helpful. The manager of the restaurant was not pleasant at all. The hotel had no one to assist with baggage but the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. However, I would not recommend this hotel in the future. it is very putdated.

I stayed there last week one night while visiting Gibralter and had an interesting experience. The hotel is in a weird area (very ghetto looking). The hotel itself is nice and historical looking and the room is decent. The one part of our stay that stood out was the people who worked there. We wanted to get a bottle of wine one night to bring back to […] the room. We went to the front desk to ask and were sent to the bar. People kept going up to the bar but nobody was working there.. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we were directed to the restaurant. They then directed us back to the bar and then we were once AGAIN directed back to the restaurant. During this 30 minute period, nobody acknowledged our existence. We finally got our bottle of wine and were all set to pay. We gave the guy 20 euro and 50 cents so that we could receive a 10 euro note back even. This confused him so much that he left us for about 15 minutes. I think he didn't know how to count! It surprises me how rude people can be when you are trying to spend money. I would not go back. I have actually never given a bad review to a hotel but this was a special one. Läs mer

Very nice hotel - old but has been kept up nicely and has all the amenities one would expect. Breakfast was outstanding. Lovely outdoor terrace. Only downside was the view of the port loading area, plus an accompanying smell that I assumed was the proximity to the port. We would definitely stay there again.

American Couple staying one night to take a ferry to Tangier for onward travel to Morocco. Algerciras especially on a Sunday (everything is closed) is a city only worth leaving but the Globales Reina Cristina Hotel was very nice. Our room 106 was clean, large with an entry foyer, the bedroom had 4 large windows that opened, plus french doors that opened […] onto a private balcony terrace with table & chairs. Free wifi in room, mini frig, desk & chair, upholstered chair & ottoman, large wardrobe with safe. The large bathroom with bidet is marble. Be very careful of slipping on the floor because it WILL get wet from the tipical european style half enclosed shower. I almost fell 3 times! The tub is also very slippery with no non skid & no hold handle. 2 computers & printer in lobby if you need. Lovely property & dining room. Breakfast was included but we had to leave early so didn't get to partake. We also had to go to bed early so didn't use dining room. Only complaints are minor. Old style spring coil mattress not as comfortable as foam. All exterior guest doors need to be oiled. They squeaked every time anyone entered or exited. Läs mer

Happened to come to this hotel on a rainy evening, and the hotel is beautiful located in a lush, tree-filled setting. The staff were friendly and helpful, with breakfast provided and comfortable rooms. The hotel is beautiful. Lots of Spanish/Moorish influence in the decorations and design. The grounds were well kept and the plants and flowers were wonderful.The room we had was nice but the bed was small. If you are over 5' 8' your legs will be hanging over the end. This was an over night stop before moving on to Malaga. A very impressive complex with quite a history attached. Not a bad stop if you are arriving by bus or train as you can walk. This is a resort in the middle of a poor area. Built in 1908, the hotel looks great and it is clear that they are catering to an established customers. The grounds are outstanding and the pool and great as well. I had two problems: the air conditioning did not work well at all and the dress code for meals.

We arrived by taxi from Gibraltar and first immpessions of the area were not good! But what an oasis of comfort the hotel was. Greeted by friendly staff we were very impressed by the room and, although only there overnight, had a most enjoyable stay.

Hotel is has very nice gardens and swimming pool. But, the rooms have old furniture and carpet. The doors to the rooms are very old and flimsy and the bathrooms are outdated. They also charge 6 euro a day for use of the room safe, didn't care for that much. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The hotel has a fascinating history, the building is beautiful, and the grounds and surrounding flower gardens are lovely for a romantic stroll in the evening. The sight of the building as you come up the drive really is quite striking. It's a beautiful place in well-kempt grounds, a touch of colonial style that really set the tone for our stay. The interior is elegant, cool and hushed, with a beautiful, airy atrium that's a perfect place to escape the heat of the day or sit quietly with a drink in the evening. The […] rooms aren't opulent, the decor is a little dated, carpets a little worn but the facilities are all in top-notch shape and everything is spotlessly clean. Overall the hotel combines a sense of slightly-faded grandeur with genteel elegance. Best of all is the service. The staff were helpful, polite, friendly and incredibly discreet. Top tip - make the effort to speak just a little bit of Spanish; it's really appreciated and earned us a few lovely gestures. The facilities are generally good; we played tennis each day and had there been more people at the hotel we could have played five aside football. The gym is tiny, basic and barely deserving of the title but the outdoor pool is a luxurious place to lounge in the sun and there is table tennis, crazy golf or boules to help you work off the calories from the ample buffet style breakfast and dinner. The food was all delicious, well-prepared and there was sufficient variation in the menu to prevent it from becoming boring. The hotel stocks some good wines at surprisingly low prices. Great location for our trips to Gibraltar and to Morocco. Unfortunately, our room was stuck away from the main Hotel grounds in a bungalow which sounds really nice but lacked two critical items. First was WiFi service which was advertised by the hotel. We unfortunately were out of range and secondly thicker walls. We heard the people next door coughing, […] slamming closet doors etc. I believe if we would have been able to stay on the main hotel property non of this would have been an issue. This hotel was superb. It would be outstanding but for a few small details namely; none of the equipment in the fitness suite worked and the indoor pool was too small to swim in. We were staying at Mijas and wanted an overnight stay to give us a longer day in Gibraltar(five miles away). We remembered this hotel from a visit six years ago. It is full of charm, very close to the centre of Algeciras but an oasis set in acres of its own, well groomed, grounds. Next to Reception is a brass plate with autographs of famous guests of […] the hotel superimposed on it. There must be well over fifty, including Frederico Garcia Lorca (the Spanish poet and writer butchered by the Falange), Orson Welles, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Becall, Ernest Hemingway and many, many, more including royalty. There are also photos of the hotel and grounds through various times in its history. There is an elegant salon with fountain and grand piano and a comfortable bar with patio overlooking the grounds. Orange trees (in full fruit) adorned the patio. Both the Reception and the Dining room have log fires and there is a separate breakfast room. All in all this hotel has an excellent ambience. Absolutely horrible first night with no parking due to an offroad sahara event. Waited over an hour to check in and was given a tiny room overlooking the parking lot which would have loud engines and noises at 3:30 a.m. Dining room was fully booked and we were afraid to leave the property once we had a parking space. Lovely hotel and staff. Dining room is disorganised-the food isnt all ready at the same time so the food on your plate gets cold waiting for potatoes or veg. Not enough is prepared at one time. Hotel - easy to find. Ignore all the views of the petrochecemical industry as you approach Algeciras - once you are up in the hotel grounds it is an oasis. Staff without exception could not have been more helpful. Good business centre for catching up on e-mails and access to internet. This was billed as a four star hotel. My hotel room was literally like a crummy dorm room in college. Cheap banged up furniture, tiny size, just awful. I should have paid attention to the fact that when they bragged about all the famous people who had stayed there, most have them have been dead for probably 40 years. This was a HUGE disappointment.
