Jag och vän bodde nyligen där och personligen tycker jag att det är en perfekt promenad för att ta sig till stan, tog kanske 10-15 minuter och det är verkligen en sådan stad man vill promenera omkring i så det är perfekt! annars fräscht och prisvärt!

For location including free wi-fi and parking this is excellent, but do not expect anything special from this hotel as you'll get what you pay for. The receptionist was excellent at answering questions and I was very impressed when she came up to my room to sort out my wi-fi and then offered to move me to another room closer to the front of the hotel […] as the signal is weak at the back. Having already unpacked she said I could connect to the wired service and I wouldn't be billed for it which was great. The car park is a very tight squeeze even for a medium sized car but as few hotels in York have car parks you cannot complain about that. The building itself feels tired with creaking floorboards but the rooms are fine, just what you'd get in any UK Ibis. I stayed for two nights and early on I reported two broken lights in my room that were not fixed by the time I left. There was also a leak in the bathroom where mould had damaged the shower seal, so the place clearly needs a big maintenance check. At half the price you'd pay for most hotels near the centre of York with wi-fi and parking I'd stay here again. Läs mer

Friendly receptionist, clean room with a comfy bed, ideal for walking into town which took about 10mins. Carparking is limited but got a space with no problems.

Stayed here as too many guests coming to stay at family home. Decent hotel. Reception and bar very friendly. However, next morning I asked for breakfast but was told it wasn't available and I could have some toast. Granted I asked at 6 am as needed to catch a 7 am train but the night before I was told that there was an early morning breakfast??

Lobby was nice and staff was helpful with bags. Parking was tricky but doable. Staff accommodating to guest with limited mobility. Breakfast was great!! Best on our trip and a bargain at 5£ if you book the night before.

The only issue is when I booked through you web at the botton of the choice said 21% discount on a Citisighting Tour (like many others Hotels) and in the Hotel did not know nothing about it.

Stayed here with my other half as we were attending a concert. We were looked after superbly by the receptionist. She changed our room from a twin to a double without any fuss and was very helpful generally. The bar staff was also very pleasant and the hotel is close enough to walk into the centre.

Very small room, 119, but clean and modern, no spare space for anything. Quite cold too but was near freezing weather. Reception area modern but communal corridors and stair wells don't appear to have been modernised since the 1970's! Wood chip wall paper, come on, that needs some attention! Hotel actually fine, the floors are a bit squeaky (first floor) and you can hear others moving in rooms. Staff were absolutly lovely, pleasent and felt like they really cared. Would stay there again defiantly.

The room was clean,big and very well decorated. The bathroom was nice and included a Lux soap dispenser in the shower. Its close to the center of york being only a few minutes walk from both the town and train station. Only quirk was that the room we were given took a short while to find as we used the stairs to get to the 2nd floor and the signs didnt […] point us to the room (They do from the lift) so we had to walk around a bit and there is a couple of little staircases on that floor, dont know about other floors. On arriving at the hotel I parked in the side street as the hotel car park was full-except one disabled space. On checking in I was told by an exceptionally friendly and helpful member of staff that they had checked, and as they had no disabled guests booked-I could use the last space available. The hotel itself is only 5 minutes walk to the city walls, […] it was clean and tidy, and all the staff were very helpful. The only let down was the lack of parking, the car park only has about 20 spaces which obviously fill up quick. There is a public car park about 10 minutes walk away and costs about £7.00 for 24hrs. Had a good stay for a budget hotel. Room was reasonably comfortable but cold. Breakfast was plentiful and communal areas were attractive. Staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the convenience of free on sight parking.

Nice hotel, just a short walk from the City Walls and the museums etc. Quite a few nice pubs and bars etc nearby too. The room was nice and clean with fresh towels every day. The price was very good compared to other hotels nearby. The only minor issue we had was that there is very limited parking in th every small and tight car park at the hotel and […] the nearby streets are residents only permit holders so if you miss out on a spot in the car park, you could end up parking in a public car park some way away. The location is good, and it's easy to find. The car park is small and was full, and overflow round the corner was also full - street parking required. The room was in a poor state, with flaking paint, the heating was broken, the shower controls fell apart in our hands, and the shower markings were back to front -must have caused all sorts of problems […] for guests as this seemed widespread! Overall a pretty average hotel - which is disappointing for an Ibis. Usually the continental Ibis hotels are really good, but this is not up to that standard. Indifferent reception staff, tiny room, and poor heating [each room has a separate fan heater, which tells a story]. However the hotel is modern, clean and attractive. It is also really well located […] for York. A short walk to Micklegate/station/racecourse, and buses past the door. In addition although the hotel carpark is tiny and not free, there is free roadside parking in residential areas only 300 metres up the road. - if you don't know York, this is unusual - parking restrictions and car park charges are stiff. Had a weekend away with friends and arrived very happy and the receptionist had a laugh and a joke as she checked the groups in, in what seemed like no time at all. The room had everything we needed even able to play our iPhones through the TV. Quite basic but with every thing you need and very comfy beds (extra pillows already in the wardrobe) and […] although being on the main road the room was very quiet. A small walk away from the train station & the shops/pubs. The receptionist also called us a local cheap taxi to get us to where we needed to be. Staff pleasant and very helpful. The Hotel is within walking distance of the Town Center. The rooms were clean, the bathroom a bit on the small side but the shower was very powerful, but the floorboards made such a awful noise, would stay here again, great value for money.

Can't fault the hotel for the price we paid. Room was spotless and staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside was the busy road but other than that we can't fault it for a budget hotel. Would definitely stay again.

I was warned that the hotel is being updated but saw no evidence of that. The room was a littel cramped with an extra bed in it but the beds themselves were very comfortable. Good shower as well. For the price great value Just out of the city walls so convenient

The staff were friendly and we were able to leave our bags to save us from carrying them everywhere, even after we checked out which was a great help. The bar area looked nice and the location was great for a weekend away in York, only 10 minutes from the centre and 5 minutes from the train station. Good value, centre of York hotel, room felt a little spartan. Heater tripped power circuit in room at around 10pm. Front desk receptionist/manager dealt with it quickly and efficiently considering managing bar and reception too.

There were 16 of us walked into the hotel about an hour and a half early. The staff could not have been more helpful and cheerful, and managed to give us a room to leave our bags in so we could go back later to check in. Rooms were very clean and more than adequate for what we needed. After 7 hrs of traveling, I was put in a disability room, telling me I was the last to check in and there isn't any room available. I have no issue with that but I was tired and wanting a room that is similar to any basic travellers room but not a hospital ward. Which looks exactly like it. Esp,. the bathroom. After much fuss, I was given a replacement […] which I was happy with. But the attitude of the staff needs to be improved. Though, not everyone of them (in my 3 days there!). Maybe I requested a room change, maybe I asked why wasn't the internet not working in my room (which they took out the charge later) at £5/24 hrs, maybe I called the reception to inquire how then to use the broadband hat is available via the television but is also not working, they hung up the phone on me by pressing disconnect (can only assume!!), they sounded impatient with me. So, that left a bad taste in my mouth. Again, its not every staff but only a couple can make it look really bad. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Rooms on the small side banged my leg on the side of the bed a couple of time and our room was next to the refridgeration unit so a bit noisy. Close enough to town centre to walk in about 15 minutes. Overall a nice hotel for a couple of nights or so.
