It was very pleasant. The breakfast was outstanding and everyone was so cordial and helpful when we needed info about locations of places we wanted to go to. It was also a good exercise for us. (walking)

The Best Western Sunset Suites Riverwalk in San Antonio is an easy 5 minute walk to the Riverwalk and Alamo. This hotel is just lovely and our room was outstanding. The breakfast was excellent with an attendant who anticipated our every need.

Only negative was the lack of overhead lighting in the room. All the table lamps were too dim. Room was large and spacious.

Good hotel, large clean room. No complaints apart from terrible internet access, had to stand out in hall to get wifi reception. Breakfast ok, fake powdered scrambled eggs ? Nearby Dennys was good for food if needed.

Absolutely one of the finest hotels we have stayed at. Staff was wonderful, close to walk to everything including the Alamo and Riverwalk but 1 block away for a peaceful rest when needed. We just loved this hotel, so clean.

The Best Western hotel was a pretty nice stay for four nights. It was situated near all the sights like the Alamo, the Riverwalk, the four other missions, fogo de chao, and the zoo (I mention fogo because it was my first time and it was just awesome). The breakfast is nothing to rave about, but it was a good start to the day. I would stay here again […] if I was passing through, but if you can get the marriot or another one of the 10 or so hotels directly on the Riverwalk I would recommend that if the price only goes up around $20. If you pay more than $20 for another hotel it's a waste because the best western is only a 7-10 minute walk from the Riverwalk and the Alamo and a 15 minute walk to San Fernando church (oldest church in America). We like the hotel alot, the breakfast was great but get it early before it gets busy. Rooms were very cool, more like apartments. Even though it is a bit far from the riverwalk to walk back and forth, you will be stumbling distance from three or four bars on Commerce St. Parking was free and easy.

This Hotel is very nice. I enjoy my stay every time I come.

Great place to stay!!! Just minutes from Riverwalk!! Great free breakfast, really, really nice rooms, nice people!! We were very impressed based on the price we paid. I will stay there again next time I visit San Antonio!

We stayed at this hotel so we could attend the Alamobowl. It's just a short walk (maybe 8-10 minutes) from the hotel to the stadium, and it's through retail area that is well lighted and secure. The hotel was nice and the rooms were clean. The room was very nice. Within walking distance to River Walk, Alamo, Alamadome. Hotel staff very nice and go out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast not worth the price. However, I would certainly recommend this hotel. Just walk to Denny's for your breakfast.

Nice suite. We had relatives in area and it was so nice to have sofa and chairs for them to sit on rather on a bed. Location was short walk to the Riverwalk. Nice breakfast with lots of hot choices.

This hotel was good for the price. It was close to the riverwalk and took less than 10 minutes to walk there. The room we received was great, but our check-in experience was not. We were told before we arrived that we would have a wheelchair-accessible room, but when we got there they put us in a non-accessible room at first. I figured it would be no […] big deal to just change it, but they basically gave us the "Sorry, not my problem" response because the two nights were already prepaid through the website. We sat in the lobby and tried to get in touch with someone who could help us and they finally agreed to move us to an accessible room. Not sure how one miraculously appeared after 30 minutes, but I didn't ask. After that, we had no problems with the hotel or the employees, but if you are in a wheelchair or travel with someone who is, you understand how important it is to have an accessible room especially when you've been told you will. I'm not sure we will stay here again, only because we almost didn't get the room we were promised during booking. Läs mer

This Hotel was clean, refreshing and the staff is excellent! Our only 'down' experience was the shower head - - it was stinging! mentioned it to the staff and it was duly noted! Close to Riverwalk and area was nice and friendly. We would stay here again! Maybe next month!!

The task of booking a room for 3 of my in-laws was stressful. Initially from the outside everyone thought it wasn't going to be a pleasant stay...well Surprise! The room was very clean, our service was Great, & the breakfast was actually tasty. Good breakfast helper waited on our table for refills even. We enjoy this motel very much. We pass through San Antonio twice a year and spend a few nights seeing the sights. This hotel is very close to the Riverwalk, the Tower of the Americas, and many restaurants. We highly recommend this motel for it's amenities, staff and comfort.

1970s decor compliments this ill lit dungeon, along with a rock hard mattress and coffee that tastes somewhat like household cleaning products...or perhaps that was the aftertaste of the mug.....

VERY NICE, VERY CLEAN. EXCELLENT STAFF VERY HELPFULL.. I HAVE STAYED HERE TWICE AND I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN NEXT TIME I GO TO SAN ANTONIO.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. No complaints except walls were pretty thin, could hear what sounded like normal conversation in next room. Convenient to Riverwalk, just a couple of blocks.

I did not like the fact that we could not get a receipt at the hotel since we BOOKED WITH HOTEL.COM, NOR DID I LIKE THE FACT THAT WE COULD NOT PAY AT THE HOTEL WHEN WE ARRIVED AS WE HAD 2 ROOMS AND OTHERS GUESTS WANTED TO USE THEIR OWN METHODS OF PAYMENT. The staff and hotel were GREAT!!!!!!!

Great location for river walk and hemisfair area. The rooms were recently renovated and very pleasant and the front desk staff were very friendly with very helpful information about transportation, etc. Would definately stay there again.

Contrary to what one previous guest wrote, we couldn't even hear the freeway, or the train. The breakfast coupon for only $3.50 was a bargain. We enjoyed it every morning. Very convenient to Riverwalk and downtown attractions. Had a newly hired maid and she was terribly slow. Didn't usually get to ojur room until 3 pm. No pool!

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel in may 2012. We found the staff very nice. The rooms were clean, new and recently remodeled. The rooms were spacey with a large sitting working area. There is a full breakfast at a charge of 3.50. This is unusual as best western usually has a totally free breakfast. This is a full breakfast, eggs, meat, potatoes, pancakes, […] fruit etc. It was very good. The only problem with the hotel is it is a little walk to the beginning of the riverwalk, 10 minuts or so. The walk seemed safe enough but ti was deserted for half the walk. Walk to the alamo about 20 minutes. All in all good place for the price. Läs mer

THIS HOTEL IS 2-3 BLKS FROM THE RIVERWALK AND IN AN AREA THAT IS NOT VERY SAFE. YOU HAVE TO WALK UNDER THE HWY OVERPASS TO GET TO THE RIVERWALK AND THERE ARE MANY HOMELESS IN THAT REGION.

Did much research before booking hotel - this hotel lived up to its great reviews. It was approximately a 15 - 20 minute ride to the base, but well worth it. the lighting in the room was very dark. A little bit of road noise from freeway. Excellent breakfast. Nice easy walk to river walk with. Good food and shopping. Very good rate compared to other hotels. Worth staying in excellent value and nice staff. Very helpful.

We booked sight unseen over the phone and were pleasantly surprised with our accomodations. We did have difficulty finding it, even with a GPS only because it is a heritage building and they couldn't put up a high sign and one way streets involved. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were all very nice. The room was large and very affordable for the area, especially considering that the other hotels in that block were charging over $200/night. The walk to the Convention center and river walk is only 5 minutes, and while you do have to walk in the underpass, it is very well lit and there is a sidewalk. My hotel keys didn't work the first time but it was quickly fixed. The room was a very nice size and clean. Biggest complaint was that there was a family with kids staying above and they were running up and down the hallways and you can hear your neighbor's conversations if they were loud enough. Plus they charge for breakfast which I found strange

The staff wre very helpful and the Hotel was nice. The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast every morning was delicious and freshly prepraired. Even though we were not right on the riverwalk the public bus stopped right next to the hotel and took us to every thing we wanted to see in the downtown area.

Close to the Riverwalk. The room was bigger than I expected. The only complaint was not enough light. The lamps were all low wattage and did not give the room enough light at night. My room was on the first floor facing a busy street. If you are a light sleeper it could be an issue.

FREE PARKING! 3 - 5 minutes from AT&T Center, The Mall, Riverwalk, The Colosseum and The Alamo are all walking distance away. Very courteous management and the BREAKFAST STAFF WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING! We paid $3.45/pp for breakfast but well worth it. Hot breakfast and they even fixed the waffles for everyone! Overall the stay was nice. I was located on the first floor, so there was a lot of street noise. After reading previous reviews, I had prepared for this by packing a small household fan to plug in my room. It drowned out street noise and worked like a charm. Bed was fairly comfortable and room was very spaceous.

Clean rooms, awesome hotel staff. I recommend the breakfast. Within walking distance to the riverwalk.

My stay was great it was the 1st day of the year day after News Years Eve... Checked in around 3 p.m. and my room was ready went up to the room and was very neat and comfortable cant wait to stay again maybe an extra couple of days

The hotel was exactly as advertised...even better. It was close to the Riverwalk, within 2 blocks. We walked to dinner and then enjoyed a boat ride on the river. Very special with all the Christmas lights. Our room was huge, comfortable and clean. The bed was great! We will definitely stay here next time we are in San Antonio.
