Hotell Commodores Inn - Stowe

Vi trivdes mycket bra på hotellet. Ett plus var att gratis wifi ingick i rumspriset. Frukostbuffen var mycket prisvärd, 8 usd per person inkl dricks. Rummen var helt ok, men i behov av en uppfräschning. Lugnt läge med vackra omgivningar.

The pool was so cloudy and dirty that we dared not swim. The hot tub had scum circling the edges. We complained, but the hotel didn't want to clean the pool because they had a group of kids staying for the weekend. The walls are thin so we couldn't sleep with all the noise. Plus we didn't get towels - even after we called twice. The food is overpriced […] and look horrid. We ate at local restaurants. Large rooms, comfortable beds, on site restaurant and bar, and 3 hot tubs. Key qualities for a bunch of skiers. 8 min drive from Stowe. Definitely would stay there again.

Came here with 2 of my friends to go skiing. We are all 18 so we had a small budget and this place fit the bill while also having saunas and hot tubs. Convenient location, close to shops and restaurants, and having a free shuttle to the ski resort avery 15 or 30 minutes. Warm ambiance. Nice pool and jacuzzi. Bar and restaurant. Clean and comfortable rooms, with bathroms in need of refurbishment. Free internet, not very fast.

pros: Hotel was quaint and the staff was very nice. They also allowed us to bring our dog. They were just on the out skirts of town. The first stop on the shuttle to the slopes, so there was always seats (typically got full and turned away people at other stops). Afternoon cookies and lemonade. Although we did not have a chance to use them, there was […] a pool, hot tub and restaurant on property. Staff was very kind to print out my daughter's school assignments. Cons: No shoveled side walks to walk dog or walk to town; had to drive everywhere; had to make 3 requests to finally get our room vacuumed the first day of our stay; check in was at 4, but our room was not available until 4:45; wallpaper in room was starting to peel; wifi would not work in our room (it would only work in the lobby); went down to lobby to get extra towels, only to have housekeeping take them away before we had a chance to use them. Although we got seats on the shuttle to the slopes, being the first stop made the ride rather long (10 to 15 minute drive became a 45 minute shuttle ride); one of the beds had a sag in the middle of the mattress. My two biggest complaints are easily fixed, but the management needs to step up to the plate and take responsibility. The first is that they do the daily cleaning, but they have stopped fixing things that are broken. This is evident everywhere, you don't have to look that far. The second is that they allow dogs in the hotel. Not only in the rooms, but […] in the lobby, on the furnature, in the breakfast eating area, etc. I watched an excited Yellow Lab dust the contents of the 'Continental Breakfast' with his/her tail, kind of nasty. The hallways seemed damp and musky. The beds were very hard and felt like cardboard. We were directed around the back to park, but it was not well lighted and we didn't feel safe. When we went to carry our bags inside the outside door to the hotel was locked to the public. We got in without having to use our room key.

The rugs need to be replaced. The bathrooms need updating. The beds are squeeking and are not comfortable. The bedding is old and needs to be replaced. The breakfast food was awful. The breakfast was buffet style. The sausage smelled bad and the eggs were over cooked.

The hotel is full service but a bit outdated. It is clean and the folks are very helpful. The hotel caters to buses so if you aren't' on a bus you are not high on thr priority. Nice location a little bit out of the main village area.

Staff friendly and efficient. Liked the pool. Bed too hard. Room OK, everything worked. Restaurant food tasted good, but one of us had intestinal problem in early AM & remembered lack of a "sneeze guard" on salad bar. (one who ate nothing from salad bar was fine) While in restaurant heard another diner complain about undercooked meat from buffet...Staff […] very apologetic & immediately took plate & told diner to get new plate & check meat for color/doneness; he also told them something about having talked to kitchen staff. Wonderful place to stay. Cider and cookies in the lobby along with a tv and beautiful fireplace. Room is large and well appointed. Evening buffet in the restaurant was outstanding.

Our room was next to the pool and had a hum through the wall, enough to give both my husband and myself headaches. The wi-fi was not working the first night and too slow the second night to download a magazine in less than a half hour. Privacy for the bathroom was a slow, heavy, noisy sliding pocket door- just loud enough to alert anyone sleeping that […] you needed the restroom. I must say when we got off the highway to go there I was wondering what type of place we were going to get but when I got there it was such a surprise. Very nice place in beautiful surrundings It has a pool inside and outside and a pond in the back which you can kayak. Friendly hosts, even the owner is there.

Hotel very inviting and nothing too much trouble . Our room was spacious and although we did not have coffee machine in the room, coffee, juice and biscuits were always available in the lobby. Meals were also available in the dining room at a reasonable price.

First impression was disappointing, The odor from the rug and the near by spa were very strong and adding heavily to our disppointment. The roof was under construction, so maybe this was an indication why the musty smell existed. bed was not comfortable.... ok, enough.

Hotel was nice, great large screen TV in the lobby/lounge area with fireplace for relaxing out of your room. Lake is really a pond but they have model boat races a couple nights a week if you are there. No breakfast included but buffet for $6 per at the restaurant was adequate and tasty. Would stay here again if in the area.

Older style hotel but with a somewhat charming ambiance. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms, large foyer with fireplace, good-sized dining room with buffet. Reasonably close to town centre.

The Commodores Inn is well located but when compared to other hotels at the same price in the area and current standards it is a bit behind. The hotel itself was clean, but basic amenities such as an ironing board, hair dryer etc. were on request from the desk. The rooms and decorating in the building itself are circa 1980's.

This hotel looks lovely from the outside. Once inside, you see how dated it is. Front desk staff were friendly. The hallway to our room had a strange odor, thankfully it didn't creep into the room. The hallways were lined with plastic floor plants and plastic vines in hanging baskets, all loaded with dust. The king bed was close to the floor, as if […] it weren't on a frame. Hard as a rock too, our backs ached the entire time of our stay. Old dated bed linens graced the bed. There was a fridge, but no microwave or coffeemaker, nor hairdryer or ironing board. (the last two items can be requested at the desk tho) The restaurant is dismal - again dated with about 42 hanging swag type hanging lights, with wicker dust catcher shades, and their long chains holding the ceiling in bondage. When we asked the gal at the desk about the dinner buffet, she gave a shrug and said "It's ok if you like that kind of stuff," unenthusiastically. The bathroom remains dark for the first several minutes of your shower until the pigtail light bulb warms up. Not a good choice of bulb for a bathroom.Furniture was old and scratched up. Old style big TVs, no flat screens and funky lighting in the room. I would not rate this hotel as 'excellent' as others have, unless you like staying in a time capsule stuck in the 70s. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find. The staff is very good - friendly,helpful & knowledgeable of the area. The room was certainly clean, properly prepared for us and a good size for 2 people. A good breakfast was presented in the morning and well looked after by staff.

interesting place with wifi available everywhere. cute little bar, great common area with an interesting outdoors area with a pool and a small pond. I saw some people have a regatta with remote controlled sailboats on the pond and couldn't walk away. Something you don't see everyday. good parking. cute pools indoors and out. I will stay again.

Rooms are very modest and older, but overall the hotel is a great place for a family. Our kids loved canoing and kayaking on the lake and watching the model sailboat races. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Food was good.
