Litet och intimt hotell perfekt för par eller vänner 25+. Rent och fint. Rummen var lagom stora. Något lyhört, men är man inte känslig så väger allt annat upp för det. Hade blivit varnad för hotel inklusive frukost i USA, men helt klart godkänt. Presskaffe, färsk juice, bagel, yoghurt, musli och färsk frukt. På eftermiddagen bjöds på fritt vin och drink. Lugnt och litet hotell perfekt för par och vänner. Lätt att träffa andra då området kring poolen ligger i direkt anslutning till rummen. Poolen och jacuzzin öppen 24-timmar vilket är trevligt både en varm och en kyligare kväll. Man får ha med sig egen dricka och mat till rummen och kring poolen. Trevlig personal. När man kliver ut från hotellet ser man Palm Springs bästa restaurang Trio en gata bort. Gångavstånd till huvudgatan med affärer och restauranger. Generösa med sen utcheckning om rummet inte är bokat.

Mycket serviceinriktad personal och en mycket bra frukost ingick i priset. Dessutom fanns tillgång till tvättmaskin och torktumlare.

The hotel almost seemed deserted, but there were actually a few other guests, but the service worked flawlessly except some initial problem with the parking receipt. The room was spacious with a desk, sofa and chair and a large HDTV. Best of all; it is walking distance (shorter than a par 4) to one of the nicest kept golf courses I've played. I will definitely stay here next time I go to this area.

Hotellet har 2 pooler en lite större uppvärmd och en bubbel pool lite varmare. Frukost utrymmet var litet men vi åt vid poolen.Man kan bo här om man vill åka till dessert hot springs eller joshua tree.
"Good central location. Great mid-week rate."
Its not a 4 star hotel. But, it's clean convenient and for the rate I paid for a mid-week stay, I couldn't be more happy. A Saturday or Sunday stay and the rate is almost twice as much, so I did a Tuesday thru Thursday (3 nights) for which was a real bargain.
I was surprised at how clean and comfortable the room was. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was big. The shower temperature changed often, but that did not bother us too much. Free breakfast is good and the pool was decent. We stayed here for coachella festival which was a bit of a drive. We would definitely stay here again.

"Most uncomfortable hotel."
The positives of the hotel were the staff (very friendly and helpful), great location, and the cleanliness. On the negative side: horribly uncomfortable bed - it was so hard it hurt my back every morning I woke up. The pillows were hard also; gave me a neck ache. The walls were really thin. Didn't have a chance to get their continental breakfast because […] it ended too early. The towels were really rough and had a funny smell; I suggest you bring your own. Don't bother trying to adjust the dial on your shower - you get spurts of freezing and hot no matter what you do. There is no in between. It changes without you touching the dial. "This hotel was great for the price"
The Royal Sun was a bit outside of downtown area (1.5 miles) but still a great deal for the price. Breakfast was included in the stay and consisted of a bit more than just a continental breakfast of pastries and coffee... there was a waffle iron to make fresh waffles, fresh fruit, juice, milk, coffee, pastries of sorts (of course!) and someone there […] to help out with the self service stations. We have stayed here several times over the years. It is always dependable, and well priced. It's not fancy, but it is a good value. The rooms have refrigerators and microwaves, and there is a pool and a hot tub, which some of the rooms open up to. Overall, a great stay. My partner and I left happy, which is most important. The rooms were clean, the staff members were friendly, and the other clientele were pleasant. Continental breakfast included some fruit (pears, bananas, apples), fruit cocktail, belgian waffles, cereal, juice, and pastries/danishes. We arrived a little early, so we were pleased that the hotel let us in anyway. Our room was basic - no frills. We were aware of this ahead of time and were not expecting a luxury resort. Front Desk person waited until I arrived at Hotel at 11:10pm. ( called first to let them know i would be late) Everything was good except for the last day, when I returned to my room at about 9:30pm and found my room door open an inch. Left open by mistake by cleaning staff.

As long as you aren't in town during any big event, the price is reasonable. The rooms are nice for the price, its great to have a balcony with a mountain view. Cons: the breakfast set up is AWFUL, and my bathroom smelled moldy.

We have stayed here before and they have put in newer carpet and new bedding (except the blanket was old). It is very clean but not a fancy hotel. It is across the street from a great lounge bar/resturant Lyons. The walls are thin so you do here others coming and going. It is great for the price and location. We will be staying again.

"Great Vacation in Palm Springs"
Older property, but well maintained. Lots of repeat guests there who get to know you at the pool and at breakfast. Staff are attentive and friendly. Will definitely stay there next time we're in town.

Balconies in all rooms, waffles for breakfast, two palm springs classic restaurants within a block. Great place to stay! Also has huge pool area for sunning.

After reading other reviews, we brought our own towels. Also the neighboring room could have been noisy but we chatted out by the balcony. Brought up that issue and all was good. Did not visit the continental breakfast. Nice 3rd floor view of Morten's Garden. Did a geocache in the area also. Loved the area. Would stay again.

"yearly stay"
Every year we have friends that live within walking distance to this hotel. They have an annual party and this location is perfect for us. Of course this is not a 5 star hotel, but a clean,, safe, well run older place to stay while in Palm Springs
"You get what you pay for"
The hotel is convenient to downtown Palm Springs. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for with the Royal Sun. Do bring your own towels, but make sure they are not white or off white, otherwise you will lose them (as I did). Not a place to sleep in at. Front desk clerks are very rude, we all most changed reservation. Wished we did. -- Shower wasn't clean, mold. -- Room small, old, not the cleanest. -- Breakfast not the best, severing room only room for 4 tables, you will be lucky to get more than coffee & toast. -- Location is nice, not worth the price of room. -- Read all review for the truth.

Hotel was quiet and close to downtown Palm Springs, although it took me twice around the corner before I found it. Wish they would do away with the deposit that is charged and then returned once you leave.

Our particular bed was uncomfortable. Overall, we loved our stay and the great free breakfast they serve by friendly attendants. "Old School"
There's old cool and just plain old... unfortunately this place is in the latter. Time for a lot of these old motels to be razed and new places to be built. Beds were old and hard. Entire room shook when you walk around. Old tube TV's. Shower got really hot and cold at random along with shower-head that was too low for adults. Incredible value. Room was well appointed with refrigerator, micro, coffee maker, safe, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. Pool area very nice, and complimentary breakfast was quite good. Common corridors and elevator could use updating, but all in all it was much more than we expected. Would definitely stay again.
Some of the people working at the front desk are nice, some are downright rude with "an attitude". We could hear people in rooms next to us, especially when they were on their balcony. A very basic motel. There is a nice pool area, nice balconies on each room, and a very basic breakfast is included. The room was clean but the plumbing was awful - shower would go from warm to suddenly scalding and then cold. And the faucet on the sink was just terrible - sometimes nothing but hot water and sometimes the "on" and "off" positions would […] reverse. Weird. We had a great time staying at the Royal Sun Inn. The hotel staff was great, the room was nice and the pool and spa was very clean. I also enjoyed the free continental breakfast. We plan on staying here again in future Palm Springs visits.

This hotel is very out dated. The furniture is old and not appealing and the towels were very hard and scratchy.
