The hotel location is good - fairly close to everything, especially 3rd Street. the cost of the hotel and what we got I thought was a little much. The room was very basic studio - bathroom reasonably clean but older style - same as the room. We were located just off the lobby although fairly quiet. Clean, comfortable, friendly, bags of character and ideal location. Loved our stay here. Not like your typical chain hotel. Only issue is parking. If you don't have to have a view of the ocean this is ideally situated close to the action in a quiet area within easy walking distance of the action. Hotel has wonderful architecture from 1920's and ambience reminiscent of the mediterranean/Spanish Paradours. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, andthe surrounding gardens are delightful. […] The rooms are clean and fresh but as it retains a lot of original features don't expect modern 5 star blandness. we stayed two days ,the apartment was beautiful very large with a kitchen,very central to shops and transport will stay there again

Very good value, good room, attentive and responsive staff, well located. The only things to be aware of are the lack of dedicated parking - we had a rental car with us, and we had to park on the streets, with a temporary permit for overnight that the hotel provided - and the lack of a restaurant. The hotel looks like it was pulled right out of an old Hollywood film. Big rooms, high ceilings and updated appliances. Note, they don't have a parking garage but do provide a pass to park on the streets, which can be a bit tricky depending on time of day and number of guests.

Loved this 1920's place decorated in the old Spanish style with tiles on the floor, beautiful planting outside both in back and front.. WE had a large bedroom, comfortable queen bed plus a couch , desk, a couple of chairs as well as a kitchen and a sweet little table to eat at. Nice people run it. Great place to stay. Got a bus from LAX for only $1. Nice walk thru the 3rd St Promenade open shopping mall to the hotel 2 blocks away. Passed by lots of lovely street entertainment and the shops were open til 10pm on a Sunday. Beautiful spacious room with a lovely view and doors that opened to the fresh air. Only downfall for me was that being in USA […] there's only coffee available in the room(no Tea). Lots of eating places nearby. I'm going back to stay again soon. Läs mer

Surprised to see our studio had a kitchen! Large, bright and comfy. Can't wait to return.

We had a group of us staying at the hotel while gathering for a baby shower. We were all very happy with the great location which was walking distance to the beach, many fun shops and restaurants and the shower. Has the charm of older Santa Monica. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Also reasonably priced.

Loved the Embassy Stayed 3 nights. It's not fancy and doesn't have all the usual hotel mod cons but my studio was huge with a proper functional kitchen diner including a huge fridge and freezer which made life so easy combined with the great local supermarket and other food outlets. Really quiet neighborhood but close to beach and shops. Friendly and […] extra helpful staff who loaned me an adaptor plug to charge my iPad when mine wouldn't work. Only minus is no wifi in rooms but it is available in the lovely grand but welcoming reception area. I can't wait to go back with my family next time as is perfect for a family. Läs mer

Excellent Boutique Hotel close to everything we needed.

This was a lovely, quaint hotel. it would be perfect for a family vacation, but definitely NOT for a work trip. The hotel staff was very friendly, but check-in and -out went very slow. Also, the location was wonderful, walking distance to the Santa Monica pier and Third Street Promenade. The door to the hotel locks in the early evening. There was a […] kitchenette, so you can bring food and cook in your room. Parking was free, but you had to search for a spot on the street. The Embassy Hotel (a colonial style spanish building) in Santa Monica is ideally situated in a residential area wihin walking distance of all shops/restaurants and the 22 mile wonderful beach. We recently stayed at The Embassy apartments and were impressed by the location and facilities which were excellent. Big rooms, great ambience and so close to whats happening and yet the location is very quiet.The manageress was very heplfull, thanks, we will definately stay at the Embassy when next in Santa Monica.

Well maintained, pretty hotel close to Santa Monica shops. Highlight was the front garden which had resident hummingbirds.

Great boutique hotel with lots of character. Really lovely helpful people who run it - they went out of their way and it felt like a very personalised experience. Very well located - loved the Third Street Promenade shopping and the local Santa Monica Ambassadors that were everywhere were very helpful. Dont forget it is impossible to get a taxi in LA […] so get to know the local bus routes which was very easy and also - get Embassy to book a taxi for you to the airport. John, the driver they use is very courteous and efficient and took me the fastest and most scenic route rather than those ghastly freeways. I will definitely be back. Läs mer

Staying at the Embassy is like staying at a good friends house while you are away. It is not a Ritz Carlton but a unique experience on a very intimate level. It is not for the prissy or the overindulgent. It is for travelers that want to feel a part of the community they are visiting.

marketed as quaint apartment living within a period building disguised the fact that the room was really quite small and dingy. At this price I expected the usual American luxury experience.

A beautiful building inside and out, set in a gorgeous garden. Rooms very comfortable but we also had a one-bedroom suite on one stay which was huge and had a kitchenette with full cooking. Staff were friendly and helpful and the neighbourhood was safe, quiet and attractive - a mix of low-rise hotels, apartment blocks and houses. Locals and tourists […] mixed - very relaxed by the sea, but also only two blocks from all the restaurants and shops on Third Street Promende. Disadvantages may include - no on-site parking though they give you parking permits and you have to keep moving car when time is up; no restaurant on site so no room service or breakfast at the hotel; no pool for summer but 5-10 mins walk from the beach; about half an hour on the bus from downtown and therefore to galleries and other sites - but we didn't mind this as had time. Lots of shopping in Santa Monica itself. None of these issues really bothered us - just felt lucky to have chose such a fabulous place. Highly recommended. Läs mer

The hotel is beautiful and has all sorts of period-style amenities. We loved the old elevator and the creaky stairs. The kitchen was very well-appointed. Parking is on the street and very tight. The beds were comfortable and the service was lovely. Now if only they could have fixed the weather!

Staying at this 1927 gem of a hotel was a wonderful experience. The service was great, the room was large and quiet and even the other guests were very friendly. My choice for The Embassy Hotel was based on location. I was in town for work and needed to be in walking distance to the office. The hotel has tremendous character. It is in a quiet area and the garden on the hotel grounds is a nice retreat as well as a buffer to neighbors. I had windows that I could open for fresh air! I went to sleep hearing an […] owl hooting, and woke to birds chirping. It was very relaxing. I did not want a standard hotel with the usual well worn amenities. Es una lastima que un hotel con tantas posibilidades no este modernizado. En la habitacion no tiene ni caja fuerte ni frigorífico ni aire acondicionado. La moqueta del suelo esta vieja y sucia.

The Hotel don't have it's own parking, so the guest must park on the street or on a nearby paid parking (14,00/night). Sometimes it's very hard to find parking space nearby the hotel. This hotel has little amenities in the room, but has free wi-fi in the lobby. It's all about the location, witch is excellent, for a nice price.

Het hotel is dichtbij `waar het te doen is`. dit is natuurlijk erg prettig. Je kunt gratis parkeren. Dat is ook positief. Maar er hangt een erg vieze geur in het hotel. Niet alleen in onze kamer, maar echt overal. Je wilt het liefste dus naar buiten. Bij navraag aan de erg vriendelijke mensen daar, vertelden ze ons dat de geur in het gebouw zit en dat […] ze er niets aan kunnen doen. Heel erg jammer. Embassy Hotel hadde en utrolig bra beliggenhet. Det var en 5- 10 min tur til stranden og til 3th street promenade. Det eneste som var litt dumt var at vi trodde vi kom til å få et rom kjøleskap og et lite kjøkken, men det gjorde vi ikke. selvom det sto i reservasjonen at vi skulle få et rom med det. eller var det kjempe bra service av de ansatte på […] hotellet. tommelen opp:D Läs mer

L'hotel è posizionato perfettamente in un quartiere residenziale ma a 5 minuti a piedi dal centro dove si trovano bar, ristoranti e negozi. La spiaggia è più distante ma si raggiunge anche a piedi. Fantastisk beliggenhed! Meget venlig og imødekommende personale, især Brigitta der er øverste chef. Gratis parkeringstilladelse så man kan parkere lige ved hotellet. Perfekt afstand til Third Street Promenade. Dejligt, roligt område.
