Hotell West County Hotel - Dublin

The place was really nice and was very comfortable. Rooms were clean and really nice staff. Beds and pillows were perfect. Closte to the park and local transportation. A bit to small tv, but we didnt stay that much in the room. Great breakfast and the food in the pub was excellent.

I used to stay in this hotel when I did Slalom Kayaking 25 years ago and the hotel hasn't changed. Cannot complain about anything, food, service and room was exceptionally good. The hotel facade does really need a facelift though. Very happy with my stay, especially when it is only 10 minutes from the zoo which was our destination.

The hotel is well positioned for access to the city centre and other areas of Ireland.. Good bus service. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They responded immediately to a particular issue I had. Breakfast offered a good choice of food and would suit all tastes.Bar food was quite good.

This hotel was just average at that. The customer service was good and the breakfast was also average. The hotel is in need of repairs. I would recommend for those with a car and don't mind the commute into the city or who are leaving the next day and want to be close to the airport.

West County has the two things I value most in a hotel room: a comfortable bed and a good shower. It's basic -- don't expect ANY luxuries -- but a good value. And breakfast is very good. The hotel is about a 15-minute bus ride to downtown Dublin, and the bus stops right outside the hotel.

I stayed from Friday to Sunday. Reception dealt quickly and efficiently with issuing my room key and pointed out the facilities. They were also most helpful with information about buses. When I came down again they helped me by providing menus for the restaurant and for the bar (I decided on the bar and chose a seafood chowder, which was most enjoyable). […] I did not have a main meal during my stay, but did have breakfasts, which were excellent. Cereals, juices and grapefruit segments were available on a buffet table but the breakfast was freshly cooked to order from a wide range of options and a pot of tea or coffee was also brought to the table. My room, which was on the first floor, was most acceptable, with kettle, coffee etc. and also an ironing table and iron. The only fly in the ointment was that the room was not far enough away from the ballroom, where dances were held on both the Friday and Saturday nights (Friday until 1:05 and Saturday until 12:40). On the Friday night the vocal mike amplifier was particularly loud. It might be worth requesting a room on the second floor or at the end of the hotel furthest from the ballroom. Hotel is about a 15minute taxi ride from the city center. There's a bus stop across the road as well which is convenient for getting into the city center. The room was basic but clean. The hotel decor is dated but for the price of the stay represented good value.

My mom and I just got back from travels in London, Dublin, and Paris. Out of the three hotels we stayed at, the West County Hotel was by far the best. Upon our arrival, the receptionist gave us a warm welcome, and the manager insisted that we let him bring our bags to the room for us. The room was very spacious and clean, and our view was wonderful […] (the Irish hills, and an old convent in the distance). The breakfast was delicious, and I highly recommend anyone try their Irish Breakfast. Also, a four course dinner is offered for prices from 20-25 Euros, cheap by Dublin standards, and tasty beyond belief. The only setback about the West County is the distance from the City Center. We were able to figure out the public bus system, which has a stop right in front of the hotel, and costs much less than a taxi. In reality, it's nicer being far from the loud and gregarious City Center, and the bus ride is no more than 20-30 minutes. If you plan on visiting Dublin and don't want a hotel that's loud and near tons of crowded bars, the West County is the place for you! Läs mer

This hotel has a friendly and cosy atmosphere which makes you feel very comfortable. It has a lovely outlook-looking across towards the Pheonix Park.It is close to the main road and near to public transport. A pleasant and helpful staff make your stay a good experience.

Für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie war es im großen und ganzen befriedigend. Hauptsächlich waren wir nur zum schlafen da. Das große Manko war, dass das Hotel über keinen deutschsprachigen Mitarbeiter verfügte. Wir hatten große sprachliche Probleme, da uns die Ausweispapiere in Dublin abhanden gekommen sind. Das West County ist keine Schönheit, und um ins Zentrum von Dublin zu kommen, muss man eine längere Busfahrt in Kauf nehmen. Wer sich daran nicht stört, ist in diesem einfachen aber ordentlichen Hotel mit gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und freundlichem Personal bestens aufgehoben.

Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfreich. Die Zimmer waren großzügig ausgestattet, die Betten bequem. Das Frühstück war super lecker. Das Hotel-Restaurant ist auch empfehlenswert (Bangers and Mash!). Die Busanbindung ist sehr gut (Bus 66 & 67).

Sehr ruhige Lage aber direkt an der Zufahrtsstraße nach Dublin gelegen. Ein großer Parkplatz ist direkt vor dem Hotel wo man sein Fahrzeug auch stehen lassen sollte. Linienbusse halten direkt vor dem Hotel und fahren ca. alle10 Minuten in die Stadt. Fahrdauer je nach Tageszeit zwischen 10 und 30 Minuten bis zur Innenstadt. Die Ausstattung des gesamten […] Hotels entspricht dem Standard der 80ger Jahre. Unser Zimmer war sauber und geräumig nur das Bad war etwas klein. Die Nebengeräusche im Zimmer waren Hotel üblich. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück war sehr gut und reichhaltig. Preis Leistung stimmt und wir würden wieder buchen. Läs mer

Dejligt ophold på roligt hotel. Vi rejste 4 voksne, hvis forventninger af storbyen var seværdigheder, shopping og afslapningen. Det passede os perfekt, at bo lidt ude fra centrum, og det tog desuden kun 10 minutter med bussen, der stopper lige ude foran hotellet. God og gratis morgenmad, billigt inkluderet i opholdet.

Obwohl das Hotel äußerlich schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist, haben wir uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Zimmer war geräumig und ruhig und die Betten bequem. Vor allen Dingen der große Parkplatz vor dem Hotel und die Bushaltestelle direkt gegenüber dem Hotel, sodass man das eigene Auto stehen lassen konnte, empfanden wir für einen Besuch in Dublin […] sehr praktisch. Das Hotel liegt abseits vom Zentrum, aber für 2 Sterne ist es ok. Es hat einen 70er Jahre leichten DDR-Charme. Es gab frische Säfte, und Müsli, Butter, Marmelade für alle. Beim Frühstück konnte man wählen was man will, zwischen kalter Platte(Käse, Schinken und Tomaten) oder typisch irischem (Porrigde-Haferbrei, Würstchen mit Bohnen). Dazu gab es Golden […] oder Vollkorntoast.Haben nur die kalte Platte probiert, das andere sah recht fettig aus. Negativ waren die unsauberen Gläser.Zum Einstellen der Temperatur der Dusche benötigt man etwas mehr Zeit, da es 2 Wasserhähne für Kalt und Heiß gibt. Das Wasser war etwas chlorhaltig. Die Betten waren sehr weich. Es gibt nur englischsprachige Fernsehsender. Einmal haben wir auch in der Liffeybar zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war ok. Eine Fahrt vom Hotel bis zum Trinity College kostete 2,15 €, bis Heuston-Station 1,90 €. Personal und Einheimische sind super nett. Läs mer

das hotelteam ist genial (freundlich, "natürlich", hilfsbereit), frühstück etwas ungewöhnlich, aber das ist typisch irisch; haben uns auch in der nacht in der umgebung wohl gefühlt; dem zentrum nahe, busse vor dem hotel sehr angenehm, tee und kaffee im zimmer war super (inkl wasserkocher), waschbecken mit zwei wasserhähnen für kalt und heiß umständlich, […] es gibt kein lauwarmes wasser -> pflege mit kaltem wasser (zimmer 110, viell ist es in anderen zimmern eh mit einem wasserhahn). ich würde jederzeit nochmal dort bleiben, so ein warmes, herzliches personal habe ich noch nie gesehen, man fühlt sich von anfang an wohl dort. nur bei der wegbeschreibung würde ich nicht der rezeption trauen, lieber draußen wen anderen fragen =) Läs mer
