Hotell Sands Ocean Club Resort - Myrtle Beach

Had food, fun, and entertainment in spite of the bad weather. This had a nice location but could never leave and have a great time. A band on the deck outside, the warm pool inside, hot tub, and little convenience store gives you all you need.

The negative first: The rate was pretty cheap, and we got what we paid for. The man at the front desk was unfriendly. The beds are HORRIBLE. So, SO uncomfortable. The pillows were terrible, and we asked for more, which we never got. This is an older property and it shows. With some pride of ownership and a little money, it could be a great place. The […] positive: The breakfast buffet, River City Cafe, and the bar were great. Ocean Annie's had some fun cover bands playing. The beach area was nice, and the view from our balcony was beautiful. The majority of the staff, especially in food service were very friendly and helpful. Bottom line: If you're on a budget and not picky, you'll be fine. Hotel was dated and in desperate need of an overhaul. When I first walked into the lobby to check in all I could smell was the cigarette smoke from the lounge. The room was dated, old comforters with a tear, the visible carpet was vacuumed but stained alot. A juice pouch was found under the bed as well as another on the patio. The mattresses felt like […] we were sleeping on stone. We had to have the desk send someone up to put the patio door back on track and the pation door had a big smudge on ot too that the cleaning people ignored. The room was cheap and did the trick for 2 nights but deserately needs to be moderized. We will not be returningand will just find a place on our own and pay full rate, we've been burned twice now by these "discounted rooms". Läs mer

My wife and I went for a little get away. We were greeted and everything appeared to be fine but when we got to the front desk our room wasn't ready. They switch us to a different room after 30 minutes of waiting and as we approached the room we immediately saw the reason for the delay. The room that we were suppose to have door was wide open and there […] were 2 maids in there. One of the maids was cleaning and the other was laying around talking on the phone load, using profanity, bad mouthing the hotel. The room was supposed to be a non smoking room however, there were cigarette burns on the bedspread and ashes on the table that was on the patio. The view was amazing but the hotel was very old and all of the appliances were dated. The price was great but we definitely got what we paid for! Not sure if we will stay there again. Läs mer

This hotel was decent. Our oceanfront room was on the smaller side with some needed repairs and updating, old tv, hole in the carpet, crack in the bathroom vanity. Other complaint was that they allowed high school spring breakers stay without adult supervision. Our first night someone pulled the fire alarm while our 4mo old was trying to sleep. This hotel was a nice place. We did not have them come in and clean our room as we were only there for 2 days. The indoor pool was nice but they need better ventalation. The room was nicely decotated and clean. The balcony had a crumpling on the edges and being 14 floors up it can be quite scary.

My 9 yr old son and I did a quick Spring Break getaway stayed at the Sands Ocean Club. The hotel is older but our room was remodeled with granite tops on everything including the dressers. The bathroom was remolded as well. The linens on the bed could have been cleaner and the tub. There were hairs on my pillow and in the shower. This hotel is in a good area, It rain both days of our stay. Having an indoor pool was the main reason for our stay here. The pool water was grey in color but looked clean and safe to swim in, It looked like the filters were not working or turned off. Our room looked as if it was just remodeled and had a great view of the ocean. It was also located right off the elevator. Very clean and we had no problem with the room keys working. That's a plus! Love the location but I doubt very seriously I will stay at the hotel again. After numerous visits I have decided that noone is taking interest in updating the hotel. Nasty is the only word I can think of. Hotel needs carpet to be cleaned or better yet, replaced. Paint job would do wonders. Bathtub doesnt drain well at all. Everything is old and needs […] to be updated. Girls at counter are unfriendly although I Love the bartender and the bell hops. Very disappointed and embarrased because I brought friends with me that this was their first visit....Spend some money and make it a nice place otherwise I would not reccomend this hotel and neither would my friends.... IT STARTED OUT BAD DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE FIRST TIME MY WIFE FLUSHED THE TOILET, IT OVERFLOWED. MAINTENANCE FIXED IT AND IT WAS OK AFTER THAT. IT WAS A NICE QUIET ROOM..

This was my 11th year in a row of staying 5 days at the Sands. The staff is excellent, the room was cleaned daily and the overall stay was wonderful. The units are starting to show their age and are in need of updating.

our room was very clean, not well stocked, we had to buy a frying pan to cook breakfast, there was not one in room. the staff helpful and friendly. the location was great. the only negative thing was the ad on the resort was misleading, we thought there was a water park for our grandson, it was not at our resort, it was at another one. The hotel is a fun environment and we loved our room for two. Our room was a condo and it was very nice. The kitchen area and the bathroom were very nice and spacious just for two. It was decorated very well and we would recommend it to anyone.

The first room we were given, on the fifth floor was unacceptable. It seemed like the whole floor smelled of cigarette smoke. We were then redirected to the third floor and our room was great. Keep in mind that this hotel is probably at least 20 years old but it did seem to be fairly well maintained. There were several chips in the tile flooring which […] looked like debris at first. The beds were very comfortable however, the pillows were rather flat. It was our second stay at this hotel. We stayed back in 2010 as well. I enjoyed having the convenient access to the ocean and hearing the sound of it at night. I hope that if the rooms get to be fully renovated someday and not just the new appliances. Seems the walls had a lot of mold build up and there was a hole in the wall in the bathroom that I thank God my husband plugged with a cloth. WE FOUND OUR STAY TO BE VERY PLEASANT. MY 10 YEAR GRAND=DAUGHTER MADE EVERY MINUTE COUNT AND SMILED THE WHOLE WEEK-END. AS FOR THE GRAND-FATHER, I ALSO WAS ABLE TO RELAX AT OCEAN ANNIES DURING THE DAY, AND ENJOYED THE LOUNGE ENTERTAINMENT AT NIGHT. I PLAN TO RETURN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Upon arrival was advised by the front desk lady that she would not stay at said hotel and would go elsewhere (Last minute booking, only hotel with 2-bedroom). We had a wonderful stay at the Sands Ocean Culb Resort. It is located close to Restaurants & Shopping. The hotel is older but the rooms are very well maintained. We were treated very well and the staff members were extremely nice and very polite. The prices of the rooms were reasonable and affordable and the fact that the hotel is right on the beach, […] made it that much more enjoyable. It has the 2 pools (1 inside & 1 outside). The outside one was much better maintained, 2 Hot tubs and a lazy river, which our daughter enjoyed greatly. This is a great location that has been terribly neglected. Great beach views, nice bar on the beach. Room was NASTY. Stains on the carpet, furniture falling apart. The positives were the A/C worked well and the sheets were clean.

It was a very nice hotel, would loved to have had a full size fridge but other then that it was overall a very nice hotel, close to things and easy access to food and drink and that made it so much more enjoyable, easy parking and that was good. Loved being there hated to come home hopefully we can come back next year or the next.
