Good central location. Fresh, newly renovated and modern interiors. Service was polite but i hardly needed any help with anything so hard to judge. The continental breakfast was simple but high quality and the breakfastbroom has a pleasant atmosphere that feels more like a cafe than a hotel dining room. Wifi worked well but limited to 1 device. A nice touch that it was included in the rate (as was breakfast). I asked for a room on a higher floor and was put on 15, the top floor. Small windows, maybe because of the nature of the old building. Good modern tv, etc, with lots of channels. Spacious bathroom and decent shower (took a minute or 2 forbhotbwater to arrive). Comfortable bed and a practical desk with lots of power sockets. Have stayed in nine zero previously. I would rank them similarly with Ames posibly edging it though not everyone will like the minimalist style and approach.

The proxmity to the airport. We had a connecting flight early in the morning and the shuttle from the hotel to the airport left every 30 minutes. Qucik check in and nice rooms and also convinient for a family with two children

I am a bit of a hotel snob so I am usually pretty brutal in my reviews. However, I loved this hotel! The service was just outstanding. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Deepak, the porter, took time out to show us some of the hotel's history and gave my 6-year old a coloring book and a few chocolates to boot. The rooms are clean and stylish, […] coffee was hot and good in the morning, and the basement bar was a great place to hang out. This hotel is also just a few blocks from the best Back Bay neighborhood. We walked everywhere during our stay...even to Fenway! We really enjoyed our stay at Loews and would recommend it to anyone visiting Boston. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and helped us out with all our queries. The only thing really wasthere was no breakfast included in our deal, or didn't seem to be on any room rates. "Just the ticket"

"Exceptional Staff - Niki the Concierge"
I have stayed to The Back Bay Hotel 4 - 5 time over the past three years and have always found the staff to be exceptional. We are visiting Boston this time, to attend my daughters Commencement and ordered roses, via the Hotel Concierge Niki, to give to my daughter at dinner, but dinner was cancelled. I called Niki and asked if she would send the flowers […] to my daughter in a cab. Not only were the flowers delivered, but Niki took the initiative to delivery them personally!! Now THAT'S SERVICE. "Not bad.... But very loud."
All in all, a decent hotel, conveniently located between the South End and the Back Bay. Generally great service. However, the street and Mass Pike noise was incredible. Landed late so needed to rely on room service which was extremely limited. After placing the order and calling back an hour later we were told the order had never been received. Very odd. We enjoyed our stay at the Back Bay Hotel in Boston. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. "Very Good, but not at the top level"
My children tell me I am difficult to please. this may be true, but I try to judge a hotel on what it is trying to be. The Back Bay Hotel is trying to be a top class hotel. It is in fact a very good hotel in a great location, but it is not a great hotel. Upon checking in, I waited for a clerk to finish with someone ahead of me (we were the only guests […] there). Another clerk was doing something on his computer. Neither made eye contact and neither said "We'll be with you in a moment". After a few minutes the male clerk looked up and welcomed me. The only problem was that he was chewing gum, quite vigorously. Not good. The room was fine, if a bit small, but then that is what I booked - a basic room. Well equipped. When I went to use the toilet, there was something floating in the bowl. Not large, and likely not human, but one doesn't expect to see anything there. I later sat on the desk chair and upon moving around to see the tv, I noticed some garbage behind the night table, which had not been cleaned up - likely had not been seen. Overall, the rest of the stay was fine, but a clean room is important, as is a strong first impression at the front desk. I would stay at the Back Bay Hotel again. The location is great. "Back Bay Hotel - great service, slow Internet"
I just finished a 5-night stay at the Back Bay Hotel in Boston. First, the hotel is quite nice with a friendly staff. The bathroom was stocked with Kiehl's products which I also enjoyed. The only downside of my stay is that the Internet (both hard line and wireless) was very very slow with irregular access. Now, it is hard to complain when each guest […] is given free access to the Internet, but I would rather have paid the extra $20/day to have high speed. My iPad and laptop were essentially useless to access the internet, and the computers in their business center (first 15 minutes are free) were equally as slow.
