Decor was a bit dated, sited next to a busy road with some traffic noise, Beds were comfotable and room had good air con. Room service was a bit pexpensive. Breakfast was good.

Unfortunately with no air conditioning the room was hot and stuffy. There was no way of reducing the temperature in bathroom and no window to open to let air circulate.

Was given the run around on daily rate as far as booking an additional nights stay was concerned. Other than that all was well!

Room 130 had unsightly spattering of what looked like mud on ceiling above entrance door. Shower did not work either easily or correctly - shower head loose. Rust stains on radiator in bathroom. Room overly hot - unable to adjust heat. Unfortunate defects as otherwise we felt the hotel was a great find.

Used for overnight stay prior to early flight from Gatwick airport. Easy Check in and check out. Taxi booked and available at correct time. Mission accomplished.

This is a great hotel near Gatwick and a good base for exploring the surrounding countryside. The rooms are large, very clean and very comfortable. When I stayed I was suffering from a hip injury which meant that I booked a disabled access room and it was first class. It was also great value for money. The reception staff are very helpful. Make sure you ask for one of the refurbished rooms

Had to book hotel on the day as I had missed flight. They were not helpful in finding the location, I took a bus from the airport and was trying to walk it, but not easy to find as it doesn't have a house number. There is a tesco local nearby - very useful if one has already spent to much on the room. Long queue at check in with no apology about wait […] or any attempt at finding a second member of staff to help with checking in people. Once I got my room, it had already been used - water bottle open, sheets used. Had to queue at reception again to ask for a new room. Breakfast not included. Overall, if you have to find a last minute option it will do, but if you have time to research value is not good for money. Go elsewhere. Läs mer

Chequers was great value for our overnight stop for a comfortable room near gatwick. Very helpful reception with regards to booking cabs and other questions. Extras were however quite expensive - a rather average buffet breakfast and unexpected charge for overnight parking. Other points: barman seemed somewhat hungover and was verging rude about us […] (and another table) ordering coffees at 4pm to his inconvenience which was a shame to the otherwise helpful nature of others. This was an overall great hotell. It was very good value for money. We would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a hotel near Gatwck Airport for not so much money. They also offered a Taxi service for six pounds each way which was great.

We arrived at this overbooked hotel in daylight, and our prepaid room had been given to someone else. They had booked us into a different hotel much further afield and changed that hotel to yet another, different one. Finding the hotel in the dark was difficult. Surprised they have a 4 star from the AA, room was very average.ground floor and no blind on bathroom window. Husband thought he had bought room with breakfast but it wasn't on their system. Bathroom wasn't as clean as it could have been,toilet seat very worn and discoloured (don't like to think why). Teaspoons were far from clean. Beds were comfy however […] sleep was disturbed by next rooms alarm going off at 4am presumably to catch their flight, and then heard most of their conversation as walls appeared to be made from paper. The hotel is perfect if you just need a comfortable hotel near Gatwick for the evening before an early flight. The hotel rooms are fine and clean. Do check though about leaving your car there. We booked and then realised we had to make other arrangements for the car parking but the hotel did give us all the right phone numbers to sort this out. Our room for our one night stay was fine, though I thought we had booked a twin room, but the bed was a small double, with a rather soft mattress. Self service breakfast was enjoyable, the only thing missing was marmalade..'we've run out'. Our one cause for complaint was being woken at 07:15am, by a non-unformed lady, knocking on our door. The hotel served its purpose-a pick-up point on a coach tour of Kent and Sussex gardens and with parking for the period.

We had to book this one in a pinch but it was very nice. Good rooms, soft beds but it is 30pounds to get to and from London on the train which is hella expensive. However close to Gatwick and good quality. The 6pound taxi to the airport was good too.

This hotel was nice. The room was nice, a tad cramped but modern. The concierge staff are friendly. Remember to call their taxi contact for a cheaper taxi rate of 6 pounds sterling each way to/from Gatwick. We didn't have enough time to explore or see the neighbourhood. Liked the fact there was a restaurant and pub in the hotel. Very convenient. The […] menus could be updated... and there were about three items my husband tried to order, but were not available that night. That was disappointing. The hotel was great and so was the staff. However, the room was much too hot partly because the window in the bathroom did not open and the heat from the sun made it like a hothouse.

Very reasonable price, but don't expect a lot for it. The reception area has been refurbished and is very nice, but the rooms seem to be quite dated and during our stay VERY warm with no option to change temperature. After a long drive I was really looking forward to a nice quiet night at the hotel. The reception was well presented and the staff was friend. However, to my dismay the room was an absolute dump. There was a cloud of smoke throughout the whole floor including the room, despite the rooms being non-smoking. I Called the hotel requesting a double, and i informed then when checking in, went to my room and it was a twin room, when we did change room, the bed was soft and there was a pack of condom, at this time ni was unhappy, but to tried to complain .

It would be easy to dismiss this as yet another "before a flight" hotel - and you would be wrong. We found it to be newly refurbished to a very high standard and much better than we expected, especially for the price. Our breakfast inclusive deal was even better value for the 3 nights we stayed here on business. Car parking might be difficult - we always […] found a space but one night we had to park in the (unsecured) adjoining pub car park - at least that was not the £6 per day usually charged to hotel residents. Only downside was to find that the day we wanted an quick lunch in the hotel restaurant it was closed becasue they were hosting a wake for someone. Meals still available in the bar, although the restaurant staff did not tell us this and it was ony when I chuntered to the reception about the lack of meals that I was told. I've stayed at the Menzies-Chequers hotel five times now. That should speak for itself.

Hótelið er þægilega nálægt Gatwick-flugvelli ef fólk þarf næturstað til að bíða eftir tengiflugi. Hótelið er hreinlegt og snyrtilegt og móttakan lipur.Hef gist þarna áður og myndi velja þann kost aftur.

Hotel confortevole. Perfetto per una notte in arrivo o in partenza dall'aeroporto. Abbastanza pulito. Grande gentilezza e disponibilità. Bilancio positivo.
