Hotell Nancy Greene's Cahilty Lodge - Sun Peaks

I wasn't sure about the hotel from previous reviews I had read, but found out that the reviews were badly out of date as previous issues mentioned had all corrected. The hotel was clean and in excellent shape, no old carpets as one reviewer had noted and all facilities were in tip top shape. Flat screen tv's in the rooms, hot tubs were fully functional, […] staff were very pleasant and helpful. Great ski out right from hotel. Ski mountain was great family mountain, lots of intermediate runs, perhaps a little light on the very challenging runs but caters to 80% of the skiers. It was great. The restaurant staff was fabulous, thelocation was great, the checkout fellow was pleasant, but the checking staff just seemed bored. I would go back again despite the checking service.

Dirty bathroom.....staff had to come up and clean it....The staff were awesome...No hot water in the morning unless you were up by 0600 am...sorry we are on holidays..No pressure from shower head...it was changed with minimal difference..

We were woken up at 3:00 AM by new guests who were loud, banging doors talking etc. The hot tub was not hot; luke warm bathwater was warmer. In the morning check out was at 10:00 and there was no hot water for showers. When we spoke to the front desk we were told oh-well I guess everyone will have cool showers this morning. The room with tax was $150.00. […] I expect a hot shower. Also the customer service staff was not very happy that we booked through Expedia. Parking was very limited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' Hallway doors banged until 1.30 each night and kept us from having a good sleep.

Was attending a conference at a neighbouring property, but the room rates were almost half of that hotel. Nice rooms, quiet and comfortable.

Fabulous Hotel, right in the heart of the Village. We were disappointed that everything was shut for the season so the place was like a ghost town. Would have been useful information to have known before booking. Don't recommend that you visit in mid-late September but I am sure it is fabulous in season.

Our sat nav took us the long way and we arrived quite late. The night manager was very helpful. it was off season so the lodge didn't have many guests. The rooms were spacious and we had security parking. Sun Peaks is a ski resort and the quality of the lodges is very high. The cost was below our other stays on this holiday. Only a one-night stop, but just what we needed: an efficiency well-equipped for self-catering, and well-furnished. There was a murphy bed, but we knew that in advance, and it was perfectly comfortable.

we were in room 117, and apparently my girlfriend saw something 'unusual' 'supernatural', a ghostly figure wearing a white robe, of course i asked, if she was dreaming, or just 'seeing things'....i did ask the front desk if anything like this was ever reported, he flat out denied any reportings, fair enough...so....take what u will from this.... other […] than that, found the place very pleasant, helpful kitchenette, and an amazing 2-in-1 microwave/convection oven.... The room was nice over all and the front desk service was excellent, we had an amazing view of a zoom boom out of our window and the whole hotel went into lock down and we couldn't leave after a certain time. We ate at their restaurant and the food was mediocre what made me angry was that 2 beers and a plate of spinach dip was 29 dollars which is fine […] but I gave the waitress 50 dollars and only got 10 back in change our waitress seemed to be preoccupied with the only other guest in the restaurant so the service was lack luster. For the amount paid here and the other hotels around the area I could have stayed somewhere else and most likely will. Läs mer

Noisy - the rooms were not at all sound proof we were woke several times by guests passing through the hall. While they were probably not speaking very loudly, it sounded like they were right in our room. The room was adequate and all the essential amenties were provided. I was satisfied with the cleanliness and the staff was really helpful.

Very helpful staff. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Room was not air conditioned, so it was a little too warm in July, but afterall it is a ski lodge.

We enjoyed our stay very much except for the very poor quality of sleep. beds in our room were very uncomfortable and we both slept very little. our 3 older girls were in another room and said the beds were much better . I would also like to comment on the lack of air conditioning in the rooms which makes it very difficult to sleep in hot summer months. […] While these are negative comments, I would like to also say we were treated very well by all staff and very much liked the hotel in general. This hotel provided a great escape for the weekend. The staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The only minor negagitves I have against the place was the quality of the wifi service. Even the optional paid service as terrible. As business owners we had to check our emails for a couple hours and it was not possible due to the […] slow service. Also, parking is very crowded and not very organized. We had to walk 2km after checking in so its best to arrive early in the day. But overall this hotel was great value and we had a very nice time. Läs mer

The staff was great, especially the housekeeping lady. The rooms worked good and location was great. The toaster didn't work and they did not provide proper coffee filters and coffee. If you are at the end of the hall it is very noisy when people go up and down the stairs in there ski boots. Overall a good place and value.

Overall, we had a good stay of 3 nights here. Staff was unavailable over the holiday to replenish and change the room however. Our room backed onto the ski hill which was great as we could watch the action, but my sister's suite was on the front of the hotel and faced the parking lot, and even though she booked months in advance, her bill was heftier. […] The combo microwave convection oven in the kitchenette didn't warm food efficiently, let alone cook our casserole. Everything is easy to get to and we had Christmas dinner at the Delta Ballroom which was excellent. Having snow was a bonus as no one else had it in the province really. Loading and unloading baggage was tedious as the halls are long and the carts limited, as well as staff to help non existent. The local spa was a disappointment as well with no RMTs though they said they would provide one. Good place for families. Läs mer

Stayed at Nancy Greene's Cahilty Lodge in September which is the quiet season. Sun Peaks was certainly quiet. Check in was smooth and very helpful. The lodge itself has a lot of character and all the facilities you would expect. The room was a good size and well presented. We ate at the restaurant and the food and service were good. Rooms designed for long stay w/ kitchen facilities. Very clean, good staff. Interior room lighting is poorly designed and low level. No gasoline available in town. Gas up at Hefley Creek when leave main hiway.

This place was the worst place we stayed in our month long tour of Canada/Alaska.It is OLD and has a slightly CREEPY feel to it.The room had chairs jammed up against the bed and a dodgy little tv wedged in the corner and of course NO FRIDGE which is the first time I have ever been in paid accommodation without one.A sign said that the inhouse restaurant […] was open til 8:30pm but after walking forever down long corridors to get there they were closed! at 7pm. The elevator didn't inspire much confidence either being slow and noisy and of course there's no 24hr reception desk so when we wanted to check out we drove out of the car park to the front entrance which was locked meaning we now had to go back into the carpark and up the elevator again to leave the room key etc.Not far down the road-about a 5min walk were several great looking hotels with very nice restaurants/bars,we kicked ourselves for making the mistake of staying in this run down old place. Beds comfortable, room big enough for 3 with heaps of luggage. Easy access to carpark. Great position with views of the mountains. Friendly & helpful staff, felt quite at home. Breakfast in restaurant reasonable and very good.

The room s kitchen was very complete and you could make all your meals. The room was clean and nice. We were there in May and there was nothing to do and the stores were very limited. Take your own food. We stayed there and went back and forth to Kamloops which is only 25 minutes away. If you were there during ski season the hill is right there . Excellent […] bang for your buck. Het hotel is goed, jammer dat er geen airco op de kamer is. Toch wel een gemis bij 28gr. Ontbijt is ook inbegrepen. Verder is er weinig te doen 's zomers in Sun Peaks. Het is een mooi resort, maar niet te vergelijken met Whistler. Te weinig restaurants en winkels. De omgeving is mooi voor mountainbiking, wandelingen en rust. en 's winters uiteraard […] voor skieën.
