This hotel is centrally located, few minutes walk to main shopping street, etc. I stayed in a single room, with balcony, view was nice, however, I would say this is a better hotel for people who will stay a longer period of time as kitchen was well equiped including washing machine. Best parts, fresh and tasty breakfast, nice small bar with friendly […] staff and small sauna for refreshing yourself after a long workday. On the negative side, at arrival we were asked to stay1 night in same room, after a 35h flight you do not really want to spend time argue about such things, especially when you have booked 2 rooms well in advance. Frukosten som ingick i priset bestod av yoghurt med färska frukter och flingor av olika slag, samt kaffe/te och lite fikabröd. Ville man ha bröd, pålägg och ägg så kostade det extra. Internet ingick också i priset och funkade hyfsat på rummet (trådlöst). The hotel unlike too many hotels in Auckland does not chare a costly fee for in-room Internet access. Hoeever, like too many other Auckland hotels, if breakfast is not included in your room rate, it's very expensive. The hotel is located in the backyard of Auckland University. So, there are hundreds of students at your doorstep. There's no service elevator. […] You'll be inconvenienced a lot with staff constantly using the 3 guests elevators, especially in the mornings and afternoons when they are cleaning rooms. Expect to wait a while for an elevator. The lounge area is very small and not comfortable. The location to the downtown area is good but expect steep streets to get there. I asked for one electric fan for bedroom 2 so that I can use it as a transfer fan on the Airconditioning on bedroom 1. The exhaust fan is not working on the bathroom. Highly recommended as per price on a two bedroom hotel and fully furnished .

Found the Quadrant Small ,narrow and pokie certain items in the room where broken and i brought this to the attention of Reception but nothing was noted down so it will remain broken . Luch was good i we were accomedated with a special lunch request that we ask for but after much back and forth from the kitchen ( for an omellette) did we get it. cant […] say i bust my gut to stay here in Auckland again unless nescessary. The room was ok, nothing fancy, but did have great views. The bad is there wasn't a room safe, although the room was advertised as having one, the shower base had a crack in it and it bulged when in the shower - it filled with water and needless to say, probably mold, no hand towels were provided and the bathroom was really small and tight.

The Quadrant was great for our 2 night stay in Auckland. The room smelled a bit musty but we did have air conditioning in the room. The main area was about a 10 minute walk away and the staff was polite.

We stayed here for just two nights and had a very comfortable and well equipped room. There was free wi-fi. The hotel is in a fairly quiet spot with a pleasant park close by. Although it is only a few hundred meters from the harbour and city centre, there is a very steep street to negotiate. Unless you are very fit or need the excercise it is better […] to use a taxi for just a few dollars. We pre-booked a taxi when we were departing to Britomart station, and the driver asked for just $6.50! Our key card was a bit tempramental operating the lift (elevator) - you need to use it otherwise you can't select your floor. Even if you want to you can't walk up the stairs as the doors to the stairwell are for emergency only (security reasons). We used the small hotel restaurant for dinner one evening and had a good meal at a reasonable price. Läs mer

The reception area was badly organised and we waited to check in for quite a while. Was the only hotel in N.Z. that took our passports away to copy them. No aircon in the room only a very large fan. A balcony about 50cm wide at one end and looking out onto huge, noisy aircon unit. Not in a good location for shops and harbourfront.

A small but nice hotel that was the perfect remedy for a 18 hour flight. Reception staff not very helpful or informed, but service staff were great.

Stuff quite unhelpful with simple requests, could not provide two room keys to a 2 bedroom apartment, and when room not ready on time it took repeated requests to get access to facilities to freshen up. Room was very comfortable though.

The only complaint ; Arrived at normal check in time 3pm and to wait 30 mins because our room wasn't ready.

Good location, away from traffic. Clean, modern and fresh. Small rooms.

The first thing that was a little disappointing was having flown for past 21 hours and not having our room ready at 3pm when we arrived. The view our room had was nice certainly as it faced the harbor, but the air conditioning didn't do anything for the bedroom if you closed the door. If you left the door open, the blackout curtains didn't close the […] entire length of the windows in the livingroom, so you woke up when the sun did. The housekeeping was inconsistent. There was a different number of bath and hand towels each of the five days we were there. Finally, plan on living out of your suitcase. There wasnt a single drawer in the room (unless you used the ones in the kitchen) and the closet was tiny - almost enough for one person. Location is good, and the place has a few things going for it, but new management would help iron out these issues. Läs mer

Fantastic contemporary hotel in a lovely area of the city. Would loved to have stayed there longer!

The hotel was located centrally and is walking distance to the CBD, Wharf and other points of interest. Room was okay except the room I was given (711) does not have any aircond controls and found it stuffy. There was a fan provided in the cupboard and they must know that the room can get stuffy. The hotel itself was very impressive, and well located. The only gripe I had was that they insisted that they wanted to photocopy and then hold on to my credit card and passport details for 2 months (from memory) after I left the hotel. When I said I wasn't comfortable with that, they insisted it was hotel policy. When I reinforced that I wasn't up […] for that, they asked me for a NZ$250 bond, which I also refused. I then finally spoke to the manager who agreed I could have my card and passport photocopies back when I left. My room was fantastic with a great view across the harbour and equipped with a clothes washing machine, dishwasher and basic kitchen. Room was very comfortable but wifi was very slow and constantly dropping out. People without a car need to be aware that the hotel is located at the top of one of many of Auckland steep hills so consider this when booking. […] I thought the hotel bar and restaurant were overpriced and the lighting in the eating area was poor. The hotel is very busy which means its popular but getting service at the desk proved to be a real chore on several occasions. The hotel is close enought to the downtown queens street, has a style and well equipped studio rooms with microwave oven, cooker and DVD player that was rare in normal hotels. However our room was on the floor above the the main road, which faces a blanks wall within the arm length... The house keeping was slightly poor with little attentive to details. […] No shampoo was provided on our 1st but bottles of used ones appeared on our 2nd night of stay. Our experience wasn't the best. When we came into the room we noticed the toilet bowl had brown stains in it which wasn't appealing. We requested three times to have the brown removed but nevertheless we still had the brown toilet bowl. The room smelt like old smoke so we had to constantly had the balcony door open to be able to stand the smell in the […] room. Furthermore there was no air confronting so the balcony door also had to remain open to allow for a decent room temperature. It felt like we were constantly needed to contact the concierge regarding something: our keys not working; the remote not working; our bed not being made; etc. It was definitely more like a two star hotel. No complaints about this place. It was a great find and a reasonable price. The only thing that may deter some people from selecting this hotel is that it is at the top of a hill so walking up may be a challenge for some but it is great daily exercise! Clean and payable hotel on walking distance from the city center and all the restaurants / bars / shops / bus station etc. I haven't seen a better place to stay in the city center for the same price.

Had a wonderful time there because the staff accommodated to our requests regarding our son's medical condition way beyond our expectations! Perhaps the down side was the wifi was not available throughtout the hotel only at certain spots.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 2 weeks at The Quadrant Hotel Auckland. The hotel was clean and modern and we were really pleased with it. I had too looked at the reviews prior to booking it and they were all quite positive so took this into account. The room and balcony was quite small, but as big as a holiday apartment needs to be. We struggled […] with the wireless internet to get it working for the first few days, but then a staff member helped us and went out of their way to make sure that it was working, which was really nice. I was really very pleased with this hotel. I didn't expect much from it, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well appointed the room was. The kitchen was fully equiped with a fridge and a deep-freeze compartment, a range, a microwave oven, a dishwasher and a washer and dryer. This allowed us to have some meals in our room and also to refresh our wardrobe […] at the end of a long vacation. Though our room was next to the elevators, we couldn't hear them at all. The bathroom was small, but perfectly adequate, and the bed was comfortable. The little balcony is also a plus, though we did not use it, as the weather was rainy. The hotel was also conveniently located next to the University campus and Albert Park (great for a morning jog), a couple of blocks away from Queen Street. All in all, a great deal for the price! Nice modern & chic hotel near CBD with shopping & restaurant within walking distance. I know there's a bar & a restaurant in the hotel but didn't really try it out. There's an exercise room in the hotel with an elliptical trainer, treatmil and weight machine. Room was spacious enough with tons of space for huge suitcase. The only is the hotel is on […] top of a hill so if you ever walk down to Queen Street it'll be a steep hill to climb up also slow wi-fi. Overall enjoyed our 4 days in Auckland at The Quadrant. I enjoyed my stay, however, try to get a room above say the 10th floor as the view is not that good below that. In saying that, I asked to be moved to a higher floor and the staff were really lovely and moved me to the 18th floor. One of the best hotels I have come across. Clean,very accessible to city. The toilet should have a water hose attached to the WC. One of my strong recommendations.

I was disappointed with the overall service standard and the condition of the room. Although I specified 3 persons in my party, we arrived to find that the extra bed was not set up. We stayed 3 days and I don't think the room was ever cleaned during that time, even after I had hung the sign to ask for the room to be cleaned. I had to call housekeeping […] to request for refills of the complimentary beverages. Our trash that was left outside the room was not cleared until the staff came with our beverage refills. Other reviews had already mentioned the tight space; but we were in a 1-bedroom suite and did not find this to be a big problem, except maybe for the bathroom, which also lacked basic conveniences such as hooks for hanging stuff. Maintenance was not up to scratch as evidenced by our shower door which had come off its rails. The lighting in the entire suite was also inadequate, particularly in the kitchen where the lighting was so dim as to be practically useless. Our final grouse had to do with the washer-dryer. Our unit was fitted with an Indesit machine which was totally unintuitive to use - the shortest cycle was 40 mins and there appeared to be no way to do a drying cycle without going through a wash cycle!
