Great hotel within walking dist of all major gadget markets. The restaurant staff on the ground floor have a little to be desired but I will deffinetly stay there again.

Everything is great. Just have to beware while booking, King standard means "twin beds". so a little ambiguous. Breakfast buffet (optional) does not replenish often after 9am. So Have to be early for breakfast.

This is a conveniently located (Huaqing Bei, subway, boarder) hotel, usually with good rates. This hotel is famous as it was one of the first government dorms when Shenzhen was just a fishing village. It has been updated, of course, but does not compare to the many 5 star hotels Shenzhen has to offer.

The Shanghai is a clean, comfortable no-frills hotel in an excellent location. A two minute walk from the Huaqiang Bei electronics market (huge) and metro station make it a 5-star location. There was some traffic noise from busy Shennan Road during rush hour but at night it was not that bad. A decent western breakfast buffet was available as well. Across […] the street to the west is a huge park with an excellent running trail. A colleague and I stayed here for 10 days and found everything we needed close by. There's a small business center off the lobby with a PC, scanner and printer which came in handy. Would have liked to have seen a lobby bar but the staff served drinks in the "library" sitting area that consisted of a few 2-top and 4-top tables and one large "conference" table. Overall a pleasant experience and excellent value. Normally a Marco Polo or Crown guest but I would return to the Shanghai for the location and value. Läs mer

There were more pros than cons at the Shanghai. Just a two minute walk to Huaqiang Bei electronics district and the metro station (which just three stops to Shopping Park and Western civilization with excellent restaurants). Beautiful park across the street with composition running trail which I used every morning. Clean and simple -- a great value […] for a seasoned traveler. We were in this hotel for 6 days - the rooms are really nice. The I telnet is free and good, the restorant in the hotel is high price and not so good food. So prefers to eat outside.

I first stayed at the Shanghai Hotel last year and based on that experience I stayed again this year. I will be back again in a couple of months time. It is now my preferred hotel in Shenzhen. I am sure there are better hotels in Shenzhen -- but inevitably costing a lot more. In this price range, you are unlikely to get better than this in central Shenzhen. […] The food and drink in the two hotel restaurants tend to be more expensive than outside. Try them once by all means; then eat outside. Across the road there is a good range of varied styles of eating places. Make sure you have plenty of holiday money, you'll lose 2000 yuan as a deposit for the minibar whether you use it or not. I recommend you not use it. It is too expensive, a can of coke for example is priced at 12 yuan. Local supermarkets in the area sell them for 2.30 yuan and larger supermarkets a six-pack of coke can be bought for 12.9 yuan. The feeling and architecture is luxurious, it's only 2 minutes walk from the Huaqiangbei electronics market street, which is perfect for me. Very interesting round shaped room.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. Some reviewers had commented on how old it is (built in 1984), but I would never have noticed. I found the hotel friendly and clean, as well as a great bargain. When I come back to Shenzhen, I'll stay here again.

Like many hotels in China, the hotel staff are getting better. Staff members frequently greet the guests. The hotel locates near the main subway station, about 1 hr from the airport. Only trouble is the carpet that is very OLD and looks dirty. Bath room is great and clean, nice water pressure.

Good central hotel for shopping in the electronics area of Shenzhen. Room clean, chinese style 4 Star. Good place for just a clean room. Hotel doesn't have other facilities. Cheap single room is good.

Best to book before travel. It is well located and makes travelling easy to all places of Interest & shopping in Shenzhen. Surprisingly, it is so much convenience to take the train instead of the taxi to the local airport from there - no traffic and right to the airport without any connection - it's a blast.

Staff was always very helpful and the room was comfortable. For the price, I expected less, but was happily surprised. I had planned only two days at this hotel, then move on to another one, but wanted to stay there for two more days after being there, which they gladly accomodated. I will stay there again. For the price, its hard to beat.

My and my girlfriend spent two nights here and were very impressed with the staff and quality of the hotel, considering the cost. One bellboy was very helpful to us in finding a restaurant that satisfied our tastes. The room was very elegant and classey as was the beautiful view of a Shenzhen park outside. This was my second time in this hotel. I booked a Superior King Bed Room this time. Supergood service. I had some problem with the WiFi-signal. Reported it to the reception and 5 min later i got a WiFi-router installed on my room, and this at 3 AM. Amazingly good service.

There is one girl who speaks perfect english, and the others try to speak, and are ok. My standard room was kind of small, but was neat, clean and good enough, although I got something of a prison view! But I was happy all in all. It was 10 minutes walk to the electronics plaza in Huaqiangbei, where my main business would be, so location was ideal for me, though there are hotels even nearer than mine. 初めて利用しましたが、リーズナブルで、ホテル周辺に飲食店が多数あり、便利かとおもいます。 日本語は通じません。 朝食は別途44元でバイキングスタイルです。 一泊当たり200元のデポジットを現金で要求されます。クレジットは不可でした。わたしの語学力のせいかもしれませんが。 ビジネスユースであればまったく問題ないと思います。

Был в этом отеле в марте 2013. Номера в отеле очень прокурены, если кто не курит будет очень тяжело, надо выбирать номер для не курящих. Шумоизоляция очень плохая, всегда слышно соседей и звуки вытяжек на улице. Номера убирали но не совсем качественно ковры всегда были грязные. 夜12時近くの到着の上、予約が入っていないというトラブルになりました。しかし、フロントの方は電話確認を、ボーイさんは私をソファーに座らせてお湯を出してくれました。結局、予約は確認できませんでしたが、PCの予約画面を見せて、なんとかチャックインできました。部屋へ案内してもらうとき、近くにレストランはありますがと聞いたので、部屋へ着いてからフロントの人がわざわざ夜食を頼むか電話してきてくれました。 特別料金だったので利用しましたが、部屋は広くて清潔でした。ホテルの建物自体が少々古いようで、そこは仕方がありませんが、気なるほど古くないと思います。シングルルームでしたが、ベットもセミダブルくらいで、仕事ができるくらいの大きい机と、ベット以外の空間もかなり広かったです。シャワーのお湯もすぐ出て、水圧も […] 十分でした。 地下鉄華強路駅から徒歩5分ほどで、華強北路駅の電気街も徒歩10分くらいです。交通は便利でしたが、食事できるところが少ないのが唯一の欠点です。でも、ビジネス目的で安い宿を探している人などには特にお勧めです。 Läs mer
