Beds were clean and comfy and I loved that you could set a wake up call from your TV! We were also traveling with a toddler and they were very accomodating to his needs. We were there on a Sunday so the resturant was closed, but they have a big bar area that served until 9pm which was perfect (and includes a kids menu). Less than 10 minutes to the […] airport. "Convenient to Shannon"
Spent the night at the hotel before catching an early morning flight out of Shannon. The hotel was very conveniently located for easy access to Shannon. The walk to the room was a bit long and there were no lifts to get to the second floor. This might be a problem with large, heavy bags for some. "Only good thing - close to airport"
The hotel was very busy with events it seemed with many young families there. They seem to think it was OK to let their children run wild not only through the rooms upstairs but also through all the halls and in the restaurants. My daughter and I had to change tables 3 times in hopes to get service at pub and finally had to ask at bar. The children […] were tripping up waitstaff and no one did anything to control? Upon checking into hotel I let the reception desk know we were there to catch a 7am flight and that hopefully we would not be disturbed. She assured that she had put us in very private area of hotel. Well, the banging upstairs was crazy when we stepped into room and did not stop well beyond 11pm. I had to call twice into front desk after being awakened abruptly at 11:30 and then again at 1am. I would not recommend for those who need a good night sleep before making long flight back to States. "Great hotel for early morning flights"
I chose this hotel based solely on its proximity to the airport. Hotel staff is very friendly. Their bar serves a tasty seafood chowder. Would stay here for one or two nights. Rooms are spacious. "Comfortable 1 night stay"
Classic wood interior. Tile work, grout in the bathroom a bit shabby, poor workmanship. Otherwise a comfortable overnight stay for Shannon Airport the next day. Within walking distance from the only mall in town, about 10 minutes. Immediately adjacent to a McDonald and a gas (filling) station. About 2 miles or 3 roundabouts from the airport, and about […] 15 - 20 consecutive closely space roundabouts (seemed like a million) from the Cliffs of Mohr to the hotel. "Great value for money"
Hotel was very nice, particularly nice was the pub and restaurant. You could just stay there your entire stay and enjoy yourself. My only complaint was the shower - complained three straight days about it not working for each day had a different problem -unable to turn off water, shower head not working and not being able to turn shower on. We spent one evening in this very comfortable and clean hotel. The room was well appointed, comfortable and clean. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who advised us of the dining and breakfast arrangements for the next day. The rates were superb. "Great for an overnight in Shannon"
It was a very pleasant place to stay for an overnight between flights. The rooms are spacious and had all the amenities we wanted (hot pot for tea, internet connect in the room, comfy beds, etc.) and the staff was helpful in getting us connected with local transportation. Hotel was beautiful but... I picked this hotel for proximity to airport (6 min) for our last night in Ireland. We had to be up for 5:30 am and there was a wedding reception going til 1:00 am. There were drunks sleeping in the hallways and walking around all hours of the night, not to mention the blaring music til 1:00 am. We got NO SLEEP. Earlier in […] the evening we went to the hotel restaurant for dinner. We were told to take a menu and wait for ten minutes until we could be seated. The restaurant was empty!! We ended up leaving and eating in the pub which was slightly better . I had paid for breakfast when I booked the room and thinking since it was near an airport that breakfast would be available at 6 am. I was told there was a continental breakfast at this time and regular breakfast wasn't until 7am (too late). At 6 am we went for are breakfast and found toast, and some cereal. There was only one person working in the entire hotel. The desk clerk had to go into the kitchen to make coffee for us. This was the strangest hotel I have ever stayed in. "Great value in convenient location"
We stayed one night in the Oak Wood Arms prior to an early flight from Shannon. The service was great and we checked in, dumped our bags and headed off for an afternoon at Bunratty just down the road. Such a convenient location. The Hotel was very busy with many fellow travellers and a Wedding too but I can honestly say that the numbers were well catered […] for as there were plenty of seats in the bar and in the restaurant for an evening meal .... which was delicious. What a pleasant surprise- expecting an impersonal pre-airport motel - Lavishly furnished in beautiful wood and royal colors. Not a chain. Built by a local builder obviously as a labor of love. "Old but adequate."

"Good location"
The Oak Wood Arms is a very convenient overnighter for flights out of Shannon. We did have an issue with the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is convenient but the restaurant opens very late, 7 o'clock. If you have a flight before, say, 10 o'clock, a bun-on-the-run at the airport may be a better option. The check-in procedure at Shannon is time-consuming […] because you have to go through security screening twice, once European (shoes on) and again for the TSA (shoes off). "Easy to find when you know where to look"

The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They set up our cab ride and had coffee for us in the morning. The hotel is a bit dated and the walls a bit thin.
