We only stayed here one night but wish it was more! Upon our arrival the concierge was so incredibly nice and welcoming. They answered all of my questions, knowledgable, helpful, and very courteous! When we got to our room we couldn't believe how amazing it was to be in a room LITERALLY on the water! The waves were crashing right below our patio. The […] sound of the ocean was so relaxing we kept our patio door open to hear the waves & smell the ocean air. The whole experience was absolutely incredible! The best thing about the Hotel was the staff; in particular, Drew in Valet Parking, and Kim at the front desk. Kim guided us to three wonderful restaurants (one of which was right on the Hotel property), and she was very pleasant and cheerful during check-in. Drew was helpful, and charming to us two older women. I was not enamored of the layout of the […] hotel. There are two buildings, one behind the other, and to get from one to the other involved a lot of stairs both down and up. The elevator was out of order in our building, so luggage had to be carried down the stairs to the luggage cart to be then wheeled to our car. Thank Heavens for Drew, who cheerfully played beast of burden to lug all our stuff down those stairs. Our room was in a building being refitted and upgraded. The room was fine, clean and comfortable; but we could have used another wastebasket aside from the tiny one in the bathroom. Also, there were no chairs in the room...even one would have been appreciated. But the beds were comfortable, and we had lots of pillows; and the towels were lovely and thick and luxurious. It was pretty good, it is a must to get the newly renovated rooms, lots of places to eat within walking distances, and I would remind everyone it is a hotel that is 40+ years old so space is limited!!

The price did not match the room. The rooms are very beach-comber style. The bathroom floor was filthy - like it hadn't been cleaned in a while - and also had paint drippings and large scratches. I did not feel secure in the room; the doors were somewhat flimsy with little weather stripping to secure the door shut. Too expensive for what you get. Location, on the other hand, is great. Walking distance to great restaurants and night life. Valet is the only parking option and that is an additional charge. Budget beach! You cannot beat the price for the amenities. Staff was extremely nice. The room was great with the exception of the small sink area. The shower was one of the best. The bed and tv were excellent. The view was a 400 dollar a night view. We will stay there again. Only downside is the exterior maintainance. The "lobby " of this motel is on the South Coast Highway......and I say motel because this is essentially a motel. After you check in you can drive down towards the beach, valet park and your bags will be carried to your room. There are several buildings in the property, and they are all literally on the beach. Some of the beach facing rooms have been […] re done, the rest are dated and not very big. Our older room had a power outage twice due to over use in the building! The location is Excellent and the beach right on your doorstep.....umbrellas and chairs free, and the beach guys very willing to help. All the shops and restaurants walkable. We paid for a beach facing room, I asked if ours would be one of the re done ones and we were told by the time we arrive all the beach facing rooms would be re done.....not so! My brother paid less than we did for his room and was upgraded to a suite....spacious, but also in a dated older room. All that being said, the location right on the beach , the good service and comfortable room ( bed and coffee machine) I would stay there again......as long as you don't think you are staying in some swishy hotel. There are air con units in the wall....noisy, but you dont really need it at night.The balconies are not private....your neighbor can shake hands with you, but we loved sitting out there practically on the beach, and opening the curtains while in bed and seeing the ocean and smelling the sea air. Staff was more than helpful. Overall our stay was pleasant. I wouldn't give a perfect review because I was expecting a balcony even if it was street view. I was also shocked when I got to the hotel and found out it's $25/night to park. Not just park but it's all done by vallets. The first time we tried to get out car we called down ahead of time. 8 […] minutes later we head to the front and wait an additional 15 minutes. my son got hurt while waiting so I had to go back to the room and clean him up. still no car when I returned. I walked to the back to find my car in the original parking spot so my husband and I finally went down and got the car from the vallet. The rest of the trip I decided to park on the street. Be prepared to move your car every four hours though. Free parking at night and only $1/hr. Läs mer

Your room won't look like the pictures and you won't get an ocean view through hotels.com. The security system to enter our room didn't work, so instead of fixing it or moving our room, they had someone with a master key fiddle with it every time we wanted back in the room. My view of the ocean was phenomenonal! I didn't want to leave! The room was a little run down due to being on the beach and had a problem with the dresser as the door handles broke and the TV was having serious problems. But the staff was 5 star and my wedding was beautiful there! A little lack in communication on they're end for my how my wedding was […] to go but everything else was so lovely. One downfall however is they dont have in room dining.. which was A huge bummer! So we had to keep leaving the hotel to find food.. but other then that Id definitely come back for the view of the ocean with your own private patio :) Läs mer

Very satisfied with our stay. Although when we first arrived it was Mother's Day and traffic was terrible. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. We started out the first two days with a village view room which is really just a plain hotel room BUT very close to the beach, you don't have to cross any streets. We upgraded to a top floor beach front […] room and it was gorgeous. We were very happy to be there during the week when things were rather slow and quiet but near the weekend there was a large party below us who were rather noisy even over the sound of the surf. It is a busy area and if you want quiet this is not the place in season. If you close your balcony door and block out the sound of the surf you may also block out the sound of the noisy people. We really wanted to hear the surf and leave our door open. The ocean breeze was perfect. We came in from Indiana to visit family,and I wanted to stay close to the ocean. The first room we got was one of the older beach front rooms. The view was spectacular second too none the balcony was right over the sand and serf you could hear the role of the ocean all night long. However the rooms walls were very dirty and the bathroom was tiny and […] we couldn't turn on the shower Without a fight or make the tub work they were all corroded the room was very old and had not been updated. Linens were all clean it wasn't that bad but we decided to upgrade to the new building that had just been renovated. The view was good it wasn't quite as good as the old building a little bit further set back, but it was still wonderful we had a great stay . It was quite a bit more money to upgrade the room for me I felt it was worth it. We only get to see the beach every few years. It was a wonderful stay. The front desk people were all friendly courteous and very helpful .Location was fabulous walking distance to everything had a wonderful stay. When they remodel all the buildings it will be perfect On The downside valet parking was a must at $24 a day and We stayed six days, and every time you picked up your car you felt like you had to tip the guys. Since I've stayed at Pacific Edge before, I had high hopes that they'd upgraded the hotel rooms to match the increase in room rates, but not with the room I stayed (Beachfront King, Reef building) WHen booking, be sure exactly what room you're getting, if it's in a renovated section of the hotel, and if possible, on a corner, if you value privacy.

Great location. Balcony doors not great - rattled at night as poor fit. Didn't use the hotel restaurants - one was closed. Laguna is a lovely town. Plenty of restaurants around. Valet parking expensive. Would stay again.

great location to downtown area of shops and restaurants, easy to walk to just about anywhere you would want to go. A pleasant surprise to find this hotel, will make it a do-again.

While the staff was accomodating and the location is great, the rooms are terribly out dated and the hallways were creepy. The carpeting is old and everything about the look of this place says that this is a "has been" hotel. It was probably great in the 60's but nothing has changed since. The Village room looks out upon a parking lot, although there is a sliver of an ocean view. The walls were so thin I could hear every word said by the guests in the adjoining rooms. The hotel seemed fairly empty mid-week, and yet I was out in a room between a family with a toddler and a couple having a loud fight. In the morning I could hear the maid […] cleaning the room next door at 7 am. The bed was comfortable and the room is made to look updated with cute furnishings and paint. But this is a very no frills hotel that doesn't merit the price. There isn't even one premium cable tv channel offered for free. No bellman, no room service. $24 per day parking charge. I highly reccomend that you stay here. Very nice rooms and well equipped.Right on the beach with great access. The Deck Bar was awesome to hang out at. Very friendly Hotel personell. The only thing that caught me by surprise was that the parking at the Hotel it is all Valet parking. Seemed to be a little expensive. Easy walk to down town Laguna.

Ocean front room fantastic. Clean, but many areas need new paint and mouldings. One other problem for us (over 80), too many steps to room. Location perfect and service great-compliments to the staff. But, anyway, we would go back.

We did not have a renovated room, but it was very decent and nice and clean. The ocean view was outstanding. Service was above and beyond throughout our stay. If you're looking for comfort and a great view, this is a great place to stay. Definitely not a 5 star hotel - is older, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was out first time to this hotel. The staff was very nice and to our surprise a crib was supplied for our baby plus they left him a little stuffed animal. Very nice room and steps from the beach. The only thing is we were not in a beachfront room so we wanted to go sit on a deck and they had no deck. There are fancier places where you could spend a lot more money, but if you're looking for a clean place with friendly service you couldn't do much better than this. This place is very high end on pricing, but that's where high end ends. This place seemed like they bought up decrepit motels as they went out of business, reprinted them and branded them all the same facility. You have to schlep your stuff from crummy building to crummy building to get to your room. Which costs $159, is older than I am (btw, I'm 46) […] and smells of mold.
