Fina rum och god frukostbuffe

Mycket bra service. Hotellet hjälpte oss att boka in en sightseeing med svensk tolk, som var mycket lyckad. Vi använde oss av deras konferenslokal som det ordnade till efter våra behov med allt material vi behövde. Hotellet låg lite avsides, men det tog endast 10 min att gå till gamla stan, som var lite av Rigas centrum. Dessutom låg en jättestor marknad […] mellan hotellet och gamla stan vilken var rolig att besöka. Den bestod utav grönsakstorg, 5 stora saluhallar med allt möjligt kött, hantverksbodar, blommor i mängder och andra prylar. Nattetid ville man inte gå igenom detta område själv men det gick att gå runt detta område på en stor väg där man kände sig lugn. Läs mer

Har besökt detta hotell två gånger, både med och utan barn. Båda gångerna trivdes jag alldeles förträffligt. Det enda som möjligtvis inte var på topp var den något tråkiga frukosten.

A nice hotel located in quiet surroundings in the Moskva-district. While many tourists tend to stay in hotels in the Old Town, Hanza Hotel lies in the Moskva Districts which gives the visitor a good opportunity to see more of the more "less-visited" areas of Riga (something we really enjoyed). Bra och trevligt hotell. Lite utanför turist stråken men bara någon minuts promenad till gamla stan, central stationen och marknaden. Rent och fint saknar dok kyl på rummet.

Bra läge relativt nära gamla staden. Stora rejäla rum. Få avlastningsytor, endast ett sängbord och litet skrivbord. Sköna sängar. Bra toalettrum. Bra frukost och mat i resturangen, men lite trångt på morgonen.

Hotellet är över förväntan när det gäller prisklassen. Frukosten kunde dock varit bättre men håller ändå tillräcklig standard sett ur prisläge.

Tillbringade 4 nätter på Hanza hotell i juli 2010. Överlag är det ett fint hotell som känns mycket prisvärt. Rummet och hotellet i stort är rent och snyggt. Det finns en trevlig terrass utanför som har god och billig mat. Hanza ligger i lite tuffa kvarter och den korta promenaden mellan Old Town och hotellet kanske skulle kunna kännas olustig av vissa. […] Hotellet ligger nära tåg och busstation vilket är plus. Bra hotel till rimligt pris, liten promead till centrum. Mycke prisvärt hotel. Personalen mycke trevliga och servicevänliga.

Ett fint hotell nära staden men ändå lite avsides. Vi bodde längst upp och hade en underbar utsikt. Hotellrummet var fräsch och rent. Service för rummet fungerade bra. Vi kunde även låsa in våra väskor i väntan på hemfärden. Frukosten var god och utbudet översiktligt. Om man vill äta middag i den tillhörande puben ska man ha tid. Ett prisvärt alternativ för en weekend-resa. Fräscht och resturangen var riktigt vacker och också populär! Den enda nackdelen var endast lokationen, 500 meter utanför gamla stan. En sträcka som tyvärr inte kändes helt säker att gå på natten.

Det känndes otryggt att gå till hotellet på kvällen genom öde marknadsområde och på mörka och lite kusllga gator.

Jag och min sambo trivdes bra i vårt rum på 6:e våningen som höll fin standard. I rummet fanns en dubbelsäng och en enkelsäng. Badrummet var stort och rent med fint handfat och ett badkarl som även gick att använda som dusch. Tyvärr fanns inget duschdrapperi men eftersom rummet var så stort så skvätte man inte ner hela i alla fall. Receptionen var stilren […] och ganska enkel, med trevlig personal som hjälpte till med allt man ville. Vi upplevde hotellet som relativt nybyggt eller nyrenoverat. I källaren fanns bar och där serverades även frukost som innehöll de saker man gärna vill ha på en hotellfrukost. Ägg, olika pålägg, yoghurt, juicer, frukt flingor, stekt korv, kaffe och the m.m. Utsikten från rummet var över staden och den gamla träkyrkan som låg strax brevid. Våra kompisar hade ett rum på 3:e våningen och det låg mot innergården vilket naturligtvis inte var samma sak. Promenaden från centrum till hotellet tog ca 15 min. På natten rekommenderas dock att vara flera eller ta en taxi då man annars går genom en del "skumma" kvarter. Läs mer

Lugnt läge nära Centralmarknaden, köpcentren Stockmann och Origo och buss/tågstationen. Fint hotell i ett annars slitet område. Enkelt rum, fräscht badrum med duschkabin. Ingen utsikt att tala om även om vi bodde högst upp. Lite lyhört från korridoren. Trevlig personal i receptionen som gärna svarade på frågor om väder, bussar m.m. Skickade några mail […] från dator vid receptionen utan kostnad. God frukost med mycket frukt, dock lite få brödsorter. Åt middag i hotellets pub en kväll (där man även äter frukost), fick vänta länge på maten trots få gäster, ingen smakupplevelse precis heller. Good location, friendly staff, low prices, but no fridge the room

clean and refurbished hotel, ntg much surrounding, but about 5min walk to market, and next to market is the bus station. further walking about 5min u will reach shopping malls StockMann, and love walking there around.

Our room was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was much more than we expected! We spent four nights this trip and we would stay again.

Nice modern rooms, good breakfast and clean. Location is ok everything within walking distance. Only minus points are that the rooms are not very sound proof and you can hear people in the passage way.

Personnel in hotel very friendly, makes you feel like home. Information easily on hand. Breakfast buffet exellent, very good service, personnel friendly. Location not the best possible, but at this price its ok. To get to old town, you must walk through hazy environment. As always everywhere, bus station and railway station contain not so wanted experiment. […] And they are between hotel and old town. Not so long walk though, you can handle it. We stayed 3 nights and the rooms cost less than half the rooms we had in Jurmala for 2 nights. We didn't expect a lot and, to be fair, there was no air con (but we did know about this) and the location wasn't very salubrious, but it was safe. Parking was free and easy. Since one of our party was poorly before we arrived, unusually we found ourselves […] eating in the hotel 3 times/day. The food was excellent and service was friendly. Hotel is highly recommended. Really nice hotel for not a lot of money. Room was nice and large facing onto the street but the windows kept noise to a minimum. The hotel uses a taxi service to run shuttles from the hotel to the airport. We decided to go back this way because its a bit of a walk when you get off the number 22 bus from the airport at the Stockman Centre - especially […] when you haven't got your bearings. Price for the taxi shuttle from hotel at present is 3 Lats per person but minimum of 9 Lats per journey. Well worth it we thought. Loved the hotel bar for a drink or cappuchino before bed. (No kettle in room). Takes about ten minutes to walk to the edge of the old town or you can get a number 7 or 9 tram to the Opera house which is much nearer. Hotel staff were extremely helpful. You would think that a hotel, not located in the old city would be an issue. Not this hotel! Very close to VecRiga and you don't hear the noise you would expect at 3am from revellers coming home. Helpful reception, great buffet breakfast, the dining in the pub was of highest standard without the tourist price. Will definitely recommend to family and […] friends. Läs mer

I stayed at the hotel with 4 friends and we all enjoyed our stay very much. The location is great, close to the central station (10 minute walk) and next door to the incredible academy of science and zeppelin market. The Hanza hotel represented very good value for money. Rooms are clean and relatively large. The staff is friendly and fluent in English. The location is the only disadvantage of this hotel, its surrounding neighborhood is in a slight state of decay. The hotel is very pleasant and well maintained. Our room was lovely and warm- with temperatures outside at -22 degrees it needed to be! The room itself was decorated well and included all we needed as standard. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was very welcome too! Breakfast was good with a choice of continental or cooked and even if you arrived […] 5 mins. before the end of service there was always a good choice. We used the restaurant on a couple of occasions and although there wasn't a huge choice the meals were very good and reasonably priced for a hotel. The hotel is situated within 10 mins. walk of the old town and all the sights. We were amazed at how beautiful the city was and how much has gone in to make the tourist feel welcome. I would come back some day, I like that the hotel was located in the middle of the city and that I for ones didn´t have to pay for parkling... Which I always has to do in Riga. The hotel is a bit old, but still quit romantic in the style. I have recommend it to my colleguase who also travels to Riga ones in a while...

Stay was great. A very pleasant older hotel that has been refurbished. Nice little restaurant. Staff was very pleasant. Went out of their way to be courteous and helpful. If a mid-priced hotel is what you're looking for, then the Hanza is for you. I experienced no problems at all. The hotel is very good value for money and if i go back to Riga i will stay at the Hanza again.My only problem is the drink prices in the hotel are too expensive and double the price of most of the bars and restaraunts in Riga.The hotel bar was empty most nights and also closes at 11 p.m.,if the drink prices were lowered i am sure the bar would be more […] successful. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. OK, it's a little bit out of the centre, but it was only about a 10 minute walk and there were things to see in the vicinity of the hotel. This was our second stay at the Hanza and we were just as pleased with the hotel the second time around. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are simple but comfortable. Our rooms were ready for us when we arrived before the official check-in time, check-in was speedy and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful . Breakfasts are perfectly […] adequate and the hotel has a restaurant that serves tasty and reasonably priced meals throughout the day. Do not be put off by the hotel's location. While it's slightly outside the centre of the city, the old town is only a ten minute walk and the train and bus stations are even closer. The amazing market halls are only five minutes away and are not to be missed. At night a tram will take you to within a couple of blocks of the hotel avoiding having to walk through the quiet market area. Alternatively, taxis are very reasonably priced, though heed the warnings about using only reputable taxi companies. Riga is a lovely city and well worth a visit - you can see most of the major sights in a day or two (don't miss the incredible art nouveau area) but leave a day for a trip outside the city to see some more of the Latvian countryside. In spite of it's reputation, we always felt completely safe in Riga and found the people very obliging. We would recommend the Hanza as a convenient and very good value base for a visit to the city. The room had been newly rennovated to a good standard, but the furnishings were austere, and the bed consisted of two narrow beds almost shoved together. The bath room was great unless one also wanted a tub, but the hairdryer was good quality. There were no bars of soap provided, liquid soap only for shower, no shampoo. With a little more effort the […] room could have been great, better furnishings, wine refrigerator. It was bit cheeky for the bottled water in the room to be priced about $5,00 per bottle, when larege bottles were about 50 cents a short walk away. The hotel is not in the city center. It is about a ten minute walk to the market and then another five minutes to old town. It is a convenient location, but there isn't much around it in the way of restaurants. It is about 20 minutes from the airport and there is a bus from the airport for a nominal fee, and the taxi cost is about US$15.00. Aprivate courtesy van is available from the hotel for the same price. The driver was on time, spoke perfect Enlish. The breakfast was so basic that I only gave it one try, and the service was nothing to write home about and I don't recommend it if there is an option, items that should have been hot, scrambled eggs for example were cold. All in all, not satisfactory. Based on this one experience in Riga, if you are looking for the same friendly customer service that you get in Italy, Poland, UK and some other European countries you will not find it here. It is a beautiful city, and I plan to return and also plan to stay in a different hotel, one located in old town for convenience. If you are visiting Riga for the first time, two or three nights might be a good place to start, and then see if you want to spend more time there. I flew Air Baltic and recommend the airline, new planes (737-300) and great service. The business lounge at RIX is very nice. Läs mer

Smart looking hotel with modern clean rooms. Stayed for 2 separate nights. Quiet location so no drunken stag parties plying the streets. First night corridors smelt smoky (5th floor) but second night was better (1st floor). Not particularly well located for the old town but a pleasant short walk through the market. Worried when taxi driver from airport […] told us not to go out at night in the neighbourhood but none of our party had any problems. Breakfast was basic, continental. My boyfriend and I were here for three days in August. We were very pleased with this hotel and would stay here again. Out the window, there is a lovely view of the church and the room had a nice, homey feel to it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm a vegan, so eating anywhere in the Baltics was pretty bleak; that said, I found enough at […] the breakfast buffet to tide me over. I could never get wireless from my room, but the connection in the pub was fine, and it was a comfortable place to sit and have a beer while checking e-mails. Only two relatively minor concerns: 1) the walk over to the bus station and Old Town was terrific during the day - it's a short walk, and you can pass right through the Central Market, which is a treat, but late at night, it felt just a little dark and isolated; and 2)our room was directly above the outdoor cafe, which was no problem except for when they closed up each night -- the sound of chairs and tables being moved around seemed to go on and on. Hanza Hotel was a fantastic place to stay in Riga. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the breakfast provided was great. Only 10min walk to old town so very convenient. And the staff at Hanza were very helpful with all our questions.
