The Northfield Inn was perfect for our stay in Springfield Illinois. The hot breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The location was easy to find right off the interstate. The location was also convenient to all of the historical Lincoln sites we wanted to see. Our room was clean and pleasantly decorated.

Very nice, love the headboard with built in reading lights and extra outlets. Enjoyed the pool, though I agree with another review that the ladders make it harder to enter and exits than pools that have stairs built in. The bathroom door would not stay closed and latched. The toilet seat would not stay up all the time when lifted. The shower spicket whistled at times and we couldn't stop it. TV reception was fuzzy on certain channels. It would have been nice to have some limited glasses and plates in the cubords since the kitchenette was there. I got no coffee stirs […] from the maid on the second day of the stay, I had to use my toothbrush to stir my morning coffee. We did enjoy the large room, bigger than usual and the rates were reasonable for our convention. Folks at the front desk were very helpful and patient. This hotel was somewhat conveniently located, not far from the highway. The rooms were well-kept, clean, and the hotel was quiet and very comfortable. I also liked the fact that they utilize soft-water for the shower/faucet. The complimentary continental-style breakfast served in the dining area was of high quality; eggs, toast, fruit, cereals, coffee, […] tea, etc. It was all prepared well and the selection was very good. Overall, a decent place to stay. The room was reasonably clean, although had a slight odor. I think the odor was from the water and/or linens. The linens and towels definitly had an unpleasant odor - probably from the water they used to clean them. Otherwise, the room was decent. Parking was included. The continental breakfast was great, it even included […] scrambled eggs, sausage, and fresh waffles. The woman serving/maintaining the breakfast area was very kind and helpful. Hotel is within close proximity to shopping, retaurants, & downtown Springfield. Overall, I think it is a better deal than downtonwn hotels & for the same money. Although not perfect and the linens could be "freshened up" a bit with some dryer sheets, I would stay here again. Läs mer

Hotel was clean but the beds were just okay, not really the most comfortable sleep I've had. Stay would have been better had our neighbors not been smoking in an adjacent room with their smoke seeping through the walls and into our room. So much for a smoke free hotel! I have stayed at this hotel three times in the last 60 days. All three times the heating register in the rooms did not funciton well...in one instance it did not work. The hotel staff was very accomodating and switched rooms for us and/or sent maintenance staff to look at the heating device. I like the location of the hotel, the cleanliness and the […] staff. Quiet, comfortable, ample parking, close to the interstate without being right on it, clean, many restaurants close by. I stay in Springfield about once a month and will keep returning here.

I loved the staff. I called to upgrade my room after booking on line through a hot deal type site. I called the hotel and they did an even better deal when they upgraded my room to what I really wanted. My stay was to relax before a huge interview and I was able to do that with no problem. In the morning I was nervous and the breakfast staff was helping […] me pick foods that would help my stomach. I can not say enought about this hotel and their staff. The hotel is lovely and is in excellent condition. I was looking forward to a nice swim in the indoor pool but there was a busload of youth (I would guess to be middle-schoolers) who were headed to the pool in groups. However, the hotel is big enough that the crowd of kids and a tired professional coexisted quite well together! Northfield Inn & Suites […] is located close to shopping and all types of restaurants, many of which are within walking distance. I was in Springfield to visit someone in the hospital which was less than 15 minutes away. The evening staff were courteous and very helpful, although no one was at the desk when I checked out at 6 a.m. If I had one concern it would be to recommend rearranging the room so that both beds would have electric sockets to plug in our laptops. I also couldn't see the television from the table in the room. I would definitely come back here again. Läs mer

This is a lovely hotel!! The staff was fantastic, the rooms were nicely appointed, the bed comfortable (complete with fitted sheets!!). The breakfast that the hotel offered was really nice and tasty. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The time previous to this was a year ago. I noticed some new upgrades such as new carpeting. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. They provide a nice breakfast. My only disappointment was my room was located at the top of the stairs off the lobby and I was not feeling well on one of my […] days and tried to rest in my room but it was very noisy due to a wedding in one of the conference centers. it was a nice location for us as we were attending the state fair. Pool was small and no steps to enter had to use a ladder not easy for some people so it would be hard for some breakfast nice but cluttered and no real good flow

The hotel seems a bit old and out of date, especially the furniture in the room. The shower/tub was all new, which was nice. They store the room's coffee maker in the bathroom - ewww! The indoor swimming pool was nice and well maintained. The hot breakfast was pretty good (for hotel food) and had a great variety. The laundry facilities were lacking […] - there was no vending for laundry soap/fabric softener. I asked at the desk and they sold me soap (but had no fabric softener). That resulted in me taking a short trip down the road to Wal-Mart to buy some. The dryers had weird (or no?) venting. The room felt like it was 100 degrees after I was done and there was lint flying around everywhere. All in all, it met our needs for our short stay. Läs mer

I'm extremely fussy...I ck out all 4 corners of the room as well as the hotel itself. I was impressed. Our room came with a very nice breakfast. Overall I was very satisfied. The only complaint was that we asked the gal at the front desk for directions to the Lincoln Museum and she didn't know where it was at or how to get there.
