Ett mycket bra hotell med London - mått mätt.Tyvärr ingick inte frukost i priset och var rätt dyr att lägga till. Fantastisk service av concierge-personalen som ordnade så att vi kunde lämna in vårt bagage hos ett syster-hotell avresedagen - på så sätt sparade vi värdefull tid och hann åka London Eye utan stress!

Den livligt trafikerade järnvägsstationen St Pancras ligger bara ett par minuters gångväg från Euston och King's Cross. Härifrån går Eurostar-tåg till Paris och Bryssel. Regional- och intercitytåg till norra London och resten av Storbritannien avgår från alla tre stationerna. Norrut ligger den moderna stadsdelen Islington. Gatorna runt Islington Green kantas av boutiquer, antikaffärer och barer. Här bor välbeställt mediafolk och politiker i stora villor i georgiansk och viktoriansk stil.
Visa alla hotell i LondonPersonalen var väldigt trevliga och hjälpsamma. Rummet var hyfsat rent och området var toppen. Det som var mindre bra, var att vi fick ett rum mitt över hostelets kareokebar/festlokal. Gick knappt att sova. Så be om ett rum långt därifrån. Toaletterna och duscharna var okej. Något smutsigt. Vissa toaletter gick inte att spola.

beskrivs som "party hostel" men man måste vara knäpptyst utanför och i rökrutan. annars var det helt okej
"shopping resa"
Vi åkte 4 tjejer för att shoppa i London. Det gick bra att gå hela vägen till shopping gatorna, och det var ett bra kvater vi bodde i. Det var trevlig personal, och vi var även ute för att kunna festa lite. Det gick kanon bra, och vi lämnade inte hotellet alls på kvällen. Baren var jätte bra. Hotellfruktosten var ett stort plus då det var buffe. Rekomenderar […] verkligen detta till andra människor, bra läge bra pris. dock inte så jätte sköna sängar, men det överlever man ;) Det blev den sjukaste resan någonsin, totalt flippad med helt underbart bra, vi älskar London :D Läs mer
"Bo i ett disco"
Billigt men INTE bra, luktar mögel, smutsiga toaletter/duschar. Disco hela nätterna, det är lyhört, så vi fick oss knappt en blund då det lät som om musiken spelades i vårat rum. Enda positiva var priset och att det ligger ganska centralt!

Toaletter och duschar väldigt äckliga! Brandlarmet gick stup i kvarten och det var otroligt kallt på rummet. Possitivt, bra service och säkerhet.

Bra service, trevlig och tillmötesgående personal. Man skulle kunna tro att det är störande att bo här, men vakter såg till att det var lugnt och tyst både inom och utanför byggnaden på kvällar och nätter. Vi bodde i ett eget dubbelrum så vi kan inte säga hur det är att dela boende i större sovsal. Mindre än 5 min gångväg från russel squere tunnelbanestation. "Prisvärt som få!"
Extremt prisvärt vandrarhem som ändå inte på något sätt är dåligt! Trots det underbara priset och det bra läget ingick frukost. Jag har inget dåligt att säga om vandrarhemmet, det är det ultimata för en backpacker i London med tight budget. Även saker som de kan ta bra betalt för, typ handdukar, väljer de att sälja till riktigt bra priser. I stayed at this hotel with my two teenage sons for three nights at the end of June, 2011. On the plus side are very clean bed linens, very clean toilets and showers, lots of warm water,good basic breakfast (open 7-11 a.m.!) including your choice of cereals with milk and bread with marmelade plus a fruit drink and tea or coffee, hotel security won't […] let anyone in without a card key after 9 p.m., great hotel reception, you can buy tickets to major attraction, free water dispenser, soda machine, wifi on the ground floor, i-pod charger for rent. Negative is very stained carpets and room doors that automatically slam shut, waking you when you're trying to sleep, even if you use earplugs. "Generator Hostel - fantastiskt backpackerhostel."
Trevlig personal som kan svara på alla frågor, kolla upp när tåg och bussar går, rekommendera sevärdheter och vad som är värt/inte värt att lägga pengarna på. Otroligt hjälpsamma. Generator Hostel kändes oerhört tryggt att bo på. Dels har dom en stor personalstyrka, men på kvällar och nätter har dom förstärkning av en "vaktstyrka" som håller koll utomhus, […] ser till att bara folk med rumskort kommer in på vandrarhemmet (detta kontrollerade dom även dagtid). Jag och min kompis sov i ett litet mixed dorm, dvs ett rum med 2 våningssängar, som vi då delade med 2 andra. På rummet fanns skåp som man kunde låsa in sina saker är om man hade ett hänglås (som går att köpa i receptionen om man inte har med sig). Inne på rummet fanns ett handfat och spegel. Simpelt, men bra. Duschrummen var fräscha, och det var toaletterna också. Dock ett minus - det var inte alltid det gick så bra att spola efter besök, men det lyckades ändå alltid vara städat och fräscht när vi gick. Det tog ett tag innan varmvattnet kom igång i duschen också, men vi bodde på våningen högst upp, så det fick kämpa sig upp i rören lite. Det finns datorer med internet, 1 pund för 30 min surf. Gratis trådlöst internet om man har med sin dator. En enkel frukost ingår, mjölk, flingor, rostat bröd med smör och marmelad. Inget fantastiskt, men dugligt. Det finns en cafeteria där du kan köpa lite godare saker om du vill, dessutom ganska billigt. Finns även biljardbord och bar. Jag rekommenderar det varmt, om man inte har något emot att bo simpelt men billigt. Jag bor gärna där igen. Minus för toaletterna och för en sak till - det var kallt! Vi åkte dit i slutet av november, och som alla brittiska hus så har dom inte riktigt förstått hur fantastiskt isolering är, och varför element är bästa uppfinningen i världen (men så är det på alla brittiska hostels och hotell skulle jag misstänka). Everything was so nice, the people who works there, but i dont think they think the same thing about us girls. Its near Kings Cross it only took us 10 mins to get to Kings Cross station, but we had lazy friends so we took Taxi every time.. haha! I would love to come back, and i will !

Jag tyckte väldigt mycket om Generator Hostel fast det stank om duschanddukar på Generator Hostel London på rummen.
"Low end hostel"
I never met the 3 guys who eventually occupied my room because they came in during the wee hours. The room was unkept,smelled, and cluttered. The mattress was uncomfotable. I chose this only because it was close the the RR station. The staff was very helpful
"Plumbing Problems"
To be fair to the hostel, I was only there one night. But they were experiencing plumbing problems and none of the toilets on my floor were flushing. Not a good experience! The personnel were very good. The rest of the facilities were OK. I had a private room and for the money feel I would just have soon have stayed in a B&B. "Improvement of Maintenance Service"
The hotel site is good as well as the cost. However, the hotel maintenance should be improved in order to provide a better service to the tenants. For example, the male shower room of Level 5 is out of order when I moved in and not yet repaired when I was out, total 6 days. My family told me that some of the female toilet is always out of order.

it has good location. but wifi is very slow, and it is very noisy at night cuz of the club. and it is cold in the room at night. but it is very cheap and close to metro. so I will stay there again next time.
conveniently near Russel Sq metro, bus route, Tesco, mall, uni college London, etc, ok if you are not fussy about noise and amenities as this is a hostel not a hotel
The lift was broken during our stay and we were on the 5th floor! definitely didn't take may trips up and down. Breakfast was good deal.

Generator hostel was great for me and my friends wisiting London. Inside it was great, but a little bit strange. The "party hostel" was very party but the same moment you walked out the doors you were asked to be completely quiet or otherwise you were told to leave the area.. But still, 3,5/5!

- the check in time is 2pm, we arrivad at 9pm and our room was still dirty... (we dropped the baggege at the hostel at 10am so they knew we were coming. also, the cleaner only changed the bed clothes and garbage bag. he left the sink and the floor dirty. the room was left very dusty and it was very nice for my friend who has dust allergy... i also got […] a rash on my neck after sleeping couple of nights there.) - the bunk bed in our room made very loud noise everytime we moved even a little bit. - our window didn't close properly... (good it wasn't too cold outside... other windows in the hostel seemed to have the same problem.) - me and my friend got only one key card. (we needed two, because when you enter the hostel at night time, the night guards won't let you in without a key card. we weren't even informed about this and i was nearly left outside because i dind't have a card.) - 80% of the bathrooms (at least in our floor) were clogged most of our stay there. - breakfast wasn't what i expected... (bread and coffee were good but when we arrived at 9am there were no vegetables to put on bread anymore, only meat. nice if you're vegetarian. yogurth also tasted like.. well.. puke...) - other food served at the hostel wasn't good either (when someone says "cheese-onion-pie with salad" i don't think about "(very dry) cheese-onion-pastry with one lettuce leaf") - no free wifi in the rooms! (even though it clearly says so in the hostel description.) - lots of drunk people at nights (and yes i can understand it! but it's still not nice when they grab you or shout behind your door at 3pm. this isn't the hostels fault by any means but i thought i could point it out now that i started rambling.) + staff was nice and helpful mostly. + the hot showers were good. + good location, can access piccadilly line easily (and they even have elevators at russels square so it's easy to use even with big baggage.) "Generator in London-noise at the midnight"
Too noisy at night and in the morning when you are still in bed, it´s impossible to carrying on sleeping. Besides this, the underground passes near or beneath which intensifies the noise.
"Generator Hostel - Perfect Location, Nice Staff"
I had a nice week at the Generator Hostel. The staff is very friendly and willing to help, there's people from all over the world. The room was reasonably clean. They have a nice bar down there. The location is just perfect, it's a block away from Russel Square Station. I would definetely recommend the hostel to friends.

The height of the lower level bed should rise higher to allow for sitting on and also a small reading light should provide.Other is all alright.

This youth hostel is a good place to be, showers and toilets are often checked and are usually very clean. The hostel is situated in a convenient area, 10 minutes walk to euston station and not far from Kings Cross/St Pancras. The city center (Leicester square for example) is only a few underground stops away. Rooms are clean and spacious, whether you […] are in a double room or share with many more people. The price is very decent too. However, wherever you are in the hostel, you will need earplugs as you can hear quite clearly when people are talking outside your door and the sound of banging doors will disturb your sleep. It would be nice to have a double bed or 2 beds in the double room instead of a bunk bed, even though it would make the room much smaller. A good place to stay overall….with earplugs! Läs mer

The Hostel was perfect. The staf was very friendly. Very good price including breakfast. The bathrooms was very clean and also the room was quite. Good value for money. Very close to tube station.

No problems, staff were very friendly. Only problems I had were because of unavoidable issues because it's a hostel (people moving around at strange times at night). Location is excellent for many people, including myself on this trip. Would have been nice to know I needed a padlock for a locker in the room before I got there, but only cost about £3 […] from the hostel's own shop. All in all, good value for money. "Generators: Siplmy the PERFECT hostel"
I arrived to Gerators on my own expecting to sleep in a room with any kind of people, find dirty and broken bathrooms and showers, and a bad service as well. But the reality was completely different: the place was full of young nice people. The bathrooms of course were shared among an entire floor, but they were very clean, and nice to use. I liked […] the showers because they were individual (privacity/intimidity), and even being shared showers, they provided enough water, and regulated the temperature well. For who said in their comments that they complained about the showers, I have to say that they haven't seen any shared showers ever in their entire lifes. Of course they're not like an individual shower at a hotel, but they're great for being shared showers. The personal of the hostel couldn't have been better. At least in summer, when I went there. About the security of personal belongings, I have to say that of course, you cannot leave all your things spread arround yoour room like if you were in a room on your own, but they had individual lokers/rollong jails under the beds to leave your things there. In my opinion, it was very well in overall. It had good underground connections, there was a lot of security at night (nobody was able to enter, even into the surroundings of the hostal, without it's entrance card), finally the service was good, the food was good, there're computers where you can have internet acces. I loved it, I recomend it, and I'm sure that I will go back more than once. There is no indigents sleeping there. This was one of the things i was most affraid of, but the only thing I saw were young people at the most, some adults travelling on their own, and even two or three families. In one word PERFECT. There was people from all the corners of Europe. Very cosmoplita. We are two guys that decided to spend a weekend in London. We took a two bed room with shared shower and included breakfast. The room was clean and big enough maybe 12-15 sqm. The showers were clean and always available. The breakfast was a sufficient buffet of cereal with milk, bread butter and coffee. Close to russel square and the brittish museum. "Generator Hostel London - Perfect if you're poor"
For such a cheap hostel it was near-perfect. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk from an underground station and 10 minutes walk from King Cross train station. The staff were very nice and helpful and the hostel's shop included everything I could possibly need. The hostel has an all-night pub of its own and its prices are pretty good; a bit more expensive […] than the usual pubs but it's a hostel after all, I expected worse. "watch out from robbers at this hostel"
we were robbed at the hotel. I went to take a shower and put my backpack in the bathroom with my passport, camera, and such in it. A man came in and saw that my backpack was not attended he then sent a girl in and she stole my passport. I had to go the U.S. Embassey and make a new passport. The place is nice but be very careful when staying at this […] location. When I went to the police to make a police report the first thing he said are you staying at the generator hostel, so I guess this happens more often than I thought. "TRES BON RAPPORT QUALITE PRIX"
Idéal pour un voyage entre amis. L'hôtel est bien sécurisé et bien placé pour visiter la ville. Beaucoup de services (bar, restaurant etc...) mais les alentours ont aussi de bons cafés et restau où dîner ou petit déjeuner. Nous étions en dortoir et les chambres et wc/douches communes on le mérite d'être propres et bien équipées (couchage confortable, […] lockers en état, prise de courants, sèche cheveux, etc...) Pour les points négatifs, cela reste une auberge de jeunesse et on y trouve les inconvénients de la vie en communauté (un peu bruyant, voisin de chambrée qui débarque à 5h du matin et ne trouve plus son lit !) mais, à ce prix là et pour seulement quelques jours, cela me semble parfait. Agréable, j'y retournerai sûrement. Oubliez toutefois si vous voulez une escapade romantique !! Läs mer

Das Zimmer hat komisch gerochen, sauber wars auch nicht wirklich. Für mich hats gereicht. Man kann dort viele verschiedene Menschen kennenlernen. Alle sind offen auch die Mitarbeiter. Feiern gehen muss man nicht außerhalb, die Bar und die Lounge sind vollkommen ausreichend. Man muss draußen flüstern und wirklich leise sein. Für Raucher ist es blöd , […] da sich ser Raucherbereich ums Haus befindet. Meinen Ansprüchen hats genügt aber für penible Menschen ist es nichts.. Läs mer
