just steps away from the metro, the latin quarter, notre dam, walk to the louvre, musee d'orsay, musee rodin, very close to hop-on-hop-off stops, 3 cafes in the square, everything one could possible want. except our room had no shower (only a hand held that was impossible to not flood the bathroom when using), no door on the bath, plus the toilet was […] on the opposite side of the room and had no sink, had to cross room to bath to wash your hands, would've moved us but hotel was booked, we managed. and fell in love with paris, would do it all over again. plus we left a large amount of cash in the safe in the room which was turned in to the front desk and sent to us back in the states...just lovely!!! Nice location, quiet, very friendly staff. No shower in my room But comfortable bed

Excellent location. Near to all the sights and great cafes and restaturants right on the doorstep. The room was small but that seems to be the case if you want to stay right in the city. The lift was also tiny - my son's wheelchair just about fitted in. But we would certainly go back to the hotel.

Clean, neat, friendly efficient hotel in a great neighborhood. Rooms are a little small (Duh! -it's Paris) but well laid out and completely usable. Only real problem is that they are changing their name and the taxi drivers can't find them without the actual address. Loved our stay and would definitely go there in the future.

We loved the location and surrounding neighborhood. Very close to Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, the Louvre, the Pantheon and public transportation. Good restaurants closeby. Room is quite small so it made it tough to move around in it with just 2 people. Most of the time we were out sightseeing so it didn't matter too much. Fantastic location. Very helpful reception staff. The breakfast room was exceptionaly stuffy, with only 2 tables able to enjoy the cooler area. The room at the front was noisy with windows open and stuffy with windows shut. The suite facing the courtyard was quieter but unfortunately cooking smells came in from the kitchen below. We only stayed a few nights, but it seems like a good place for an extended stay. The surrounding neighborhood wasn't that great to walk through at night, but it's not the worst either. There is no wifi in the rooms, you have to go to the lobby for it. There is a wired connection in the room. Having a laundry facility on the floor was really nice. There's […] only a couple machines, so we had to wait a bit, but it was nice to be able to wash clothes without paying the expensive fee most hotels charge when they do it for you. Läs mer

We stayed on 28-30th April 2011. It’s a really great spot by the Sorbonne University, near St Michel in the Latin Quarter. Restaurants, bars and brilliant transport links are within a few minutes’ walk. The communal areas of the hotel are clean, modern and chic. The entrance of the street is an excellent selling point. The staff were very helpful and […] pleasant. Only downside was the rooms and breakfast. And for me, it ruined the experience. We booked a superior room, we were given Room 18. It felt more like a basic double; it can't have been more than 12sqm. Rooms were clean and relatively modern but it had really limited space to put bags or to hang up clothes. The half sized bath, with a 3ft shower and no shower curtain made it impossible to wash in, the shower function would only work if the lever was constantly held down. The rooms are very stuffy at night, the aircon works well, but the exceptionally heavy duvet made things nigh on impossible, it was actually hurting my legs under the weight. I'm not sure if it was a seasonal thing but when its 18-20 degrees during the day its clearly wrong to have a heavy crash mat as a duvet! Breakfast was incredibly basic and limited (1 yoghurt option, 4 cereals, and a few other bread pastries available), and that combined with a poor layout in the cellar meant having to queue for about 5-10minutes as things were so squashed and having to wait for tables to free up or be cleaned. I have to be fair and impartial. Maybe we just had a bad room, or the others are of a similar standard, but the cost versus the stay doesn't add up. Sadly based upon that I wouldn't recommend the stay. I can't fault the staff as they were very friendly. Läs mer

The room was small. Since I was traveling alone, the room was more than acceptable. The hotel staff were helpful. The buffet OK.

The hotel was well located -- lively with a nice fountain and cafes downtstairs and the Metro and Luxemborg Gardens a couple of blocks away. But it was quiet at night. The staff was friendly and generous with their time and assistance. Breakfast was adequate and nicely presented. The hotel is located in the semi-quiet Place de la Sorbonne (immediately adjacent to the ancient entrance to the Sorbonne), in an IDEAL location to walk anywhere in the Left Bank, and very near bus, metro and train stops. You are in the heart of the action, yet tucked into a 'place'. The rooms are of reasonable size, given typical European hotel rooms. […] The hotel looks modernized; we only wish we had towel racks, and my friend wanted a standing shower (there is a tub with a hand-held shower head). Recently updated. Beautiful lobby. Nice reception. Help at check-in were very polite. Housekeeping staff, not helpful with extra pillows or towels. The rooms are TINY. For an American these rooms are closets. We asked for a triple with single beds and got a king with a sofa. The bathrooms do not all have showers but a tub with a hand held shower wand. […] Very noise outside in the square all night long. Room thermostat centrally controlled. No refrig. A superb location within touching distance of the Sorbonne and set in a lovely square with trees, fountains and cafes. 5 minutes from the nearest metro, 10 minutes to Notre Dame and plenty of restaurants and cafes!The hotel itself has a modern feel, very clean and comfortable. Great location. Decent room. Very disappointing breakfast buffet. One of our reasons for choosing this hotel, and paying a reasonably healthy room rate, was that breakfast was included. Yet their was virtually no protein on the buffet. One very poor cheese (and this is France!) and no meats of any kind. Only fruit was canned fruit cocktail. We loved this hotel. Can't beat the location. Well appointed room, friendly, helpful staff, and wonderful breakfast. We can't wait to go back.

Right on the Place de la Sorbonne, this is in a great place. The hotel was fine - nice if smallish lobby, and my room was a reasonable size (we are not talking US sized rooms...this is Paris). I would have preferred a double bed to the two singles, but that is nit picking. This is definitely on my list of Paris hotels to chose from for next time.

Hotel situated in an ideal location next to the Sorbonne. Breakfast basic but fine, we stayed for 5 nights and the choice did not change from day to day. Room was OK but disappointing for the price. Looked dated and could do with a makeover. Room described as deluxe but seemed fairly standard. Bathroom separated from bedroom by a sliding door, separate […] toilet but smell infiltrated the main room. Staircase contained a worn looking carpet. We had a room facing the square, which was nice in terms of the view, but there was a reasonable amount of noise at night. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again as there are much better hotels in Paris. Läs mer

I read reviews about this hotel saying the rooms are small and the shower is not like an American shower. So what! It is in a perfect location, very quite at night and the rooms are extremely clean. The shower was different but isn't that what a vacation is about, try new things, experience the place you're visiting? The was small but I only slept in […] the room, most of the days my son and I traveled the streets of Paris. If I wanted a bigger place to hang out, I would have stayed at home. Läs mer

The location is very good, adjacent to the Sorbonne and about 100 meters from Luxembourg Gardens. The room is on the small side, but perfectly usable. The bed was very comfortable and there was good lighting for reading. The air conditioning was quiet and efficient and there was an individual digital thermostat that allowed complete control (no overrides […] to prevent individual settings). The only drawback was the bathtub, which could be used as a shower, but was awkward to enter and exit and lacked a shower curtain. I've lived in Paris off and on and have visited many times. I would recommend this hotel to first-time visitors as well as to those who know the city well. The contemporary decor is attractive and the staff are extremely pleasant. I was looking for a central location because of the conference I was attending, but was concerned about noise; the other […] reviews helped me make the decision, and no regrets. The staff at the Select Hotel was very pleasant and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. The hotel was very clean and kept in excellent condition. The breakfast was generous and very well run. The hotel was in an excellent location that allowed us to enjoy the left bank and to travel with ease. I would highly recommend this hotel.

It is a nice hotel, small but very well organized, very contemporary decorated, near the Brasseries and walking distance to the Louvre and other sites. Staff very professional and yet friendly. You can have breakfast but we prefered going out in the neighbourhood; will be back.

This is my fourth time staying at this hotel and the service and quality of the hotel remain high each time. Rooms are small and the bathrooms have no showers but the location and the staff more than make up for those.

Nice little hotel close to the University, shops, and dining. Good value for the money.

This is our 3rd time staying here. The location can't be beat. The staff is very friendly and fluent in English. The rooms are on the smaller side and there aren't showers (just baths) but they are modern.

Loved the hotel and the area - a lot of nice cafes and restaurants. We stayed for four nights and had a room for 3 ppl. The room was very clean, modern, light, w/ nice plasma TV, bathroom, 3 beds and our window overlooked the Sorbonne university (one of the buildings) next door. The location was perfect - we walked to major attractions (museum d'Orsay […] and Notre Dame). We also had free breakfast every morning. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only con was the shower in the bathtub - the one you have to hold yourself and no shower curtain - the European way (I couldn't figure out how to easily wash my hair). But our friends who stayed in the double room (which is cheaper than the triple) had a "normal" nice clean recently renovated shower. Läs mer

We were told to expect small hotel rooms in Paris and it was small, which got to us by the end of the week that we stayed at The Select. That was our only complaint. The hotel was very convenient--a short walk from the St. Michel metro station. Staff at the hotel were very helpful.

The klocation could not be better and the hotel is quiet. The reception area is very smart. My room was on the top floor under the eves. The decor was a bit tired but the worst thing was that the shower was unusable since it was fixed at bath level. This meant that you had to take baths rather than showers. The breakfast, described as a buffet consisted […] of bread, croissant, cereal and tinned or bottled fruit salad. The coffee was stewed Cona coffee, so breakfast was altogether missable. Staying on Paris? If so you are not in your room much, so don't sweat the size. They are small but immaculate. Free internet in lobby too. Will stay again.

rates were more than i planned to pay but it was worth it. super convenient to the RER and several metro stations and right on the charming place de la sorbonne (off the bustle of st michel). friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms. decor is modern but very tasteful. great location for home base in the city.

We had booked a triple room and were upgraded to a suite for the same price. Could only stay 1 night but wanted to stay all week. Great spot!

Vi savnede en bedre morgenmad af international karakter, f.eks. ost og æg. Det var ikke muligt at tage et brusebad, da bruseren sad lige over badekaret, det gjorde det daglige bad lidt besværligt.

Godt, moderniseret hotel. Morgenmaden lidt for minimalistisk. Dejlig atmosfære på Sorbonne-pladsen.
