Hotel was clean. Staff was wonderful. This hotel is not in a busy area (restaurants and shopping) but Paducah is only 8 miles away. Only thing that bothered us is they allow smoking and you can smell the smoke in non-smoking rooms.

There seem to be several maintenance issues with this hotel. The pool was not in working condition, ice machine broken, pancake maker not working and light bulbs out in our room. Also, they need to update for personal device charging.

2 Main problems I had was that we brookes this hotel, with an u door pool, for the kids. When we arrived, The pool was completely drained And "out of order." Booked two rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Metropolis for a one day stay with my family. The room was clean and updated, while the service was friendly and professional. I'd recommend this hotel to others that may come to the area.

My husband and I expected much more from this hotel. This is the first hotel I've ever been to that had a pool area completely visible to the front desk. I for one do not want to be relaxing in the hot tub while new guests come in and gawk at me!! The pool had too much chlorine or something. My skin was flaking off when I left and I got an eye infection from the pool that I have to suffer with the rest of our vacation. The bathroom in th room was dirty and it took 20 minutes to get eggs and sausage for breakfast. It was loud in the room. you could hear the people above you walking around. the floor seem to sqeak in my room as well. TV was nice. Room had a fridge. Everything was good except the pool water was to cold to swim in and the hot tub wasn't working right . The water never got hot. Everything else was good. It was a little disappointing not to get to swim because when I was looking for a place to stay that is one thing I made sure was to have a indoor pool.

The indoor pool is a little small but worked out great for my kids who are 10 and 7. They really enjoyed the pool and the room was a good size for our family of four. The breakfast was more than adequate with eggs, sausage, biscuits, pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, cinnamon rolls, pastries, toast, etc. Everyone enjoyed the stay.

Hotel hallways had a musty smell...and there was a spider in the room. Beds were also uncomfortable and bathroom was very tiny. All in all this hotel was not worth the cost...very disappointed in this holiday inn express

Right off the highway and easy to find. Didn't bring my furry children, but was glad to know that they're welcomed too! Loved the whirlpool garden tub and the pillows were perfect. Slept like a baby!

Overall, it was an "ok" stay; the King sized suite is nothing more than a king bed..........and that's about it; Fridge too small to put anything in, A/C doesn't blow very cold; and the wi/fi is extremely spotty...but at least it was free...;the advertised pool/spa area was "closed" due to "cleaning"; yet, after complaints, the sign magically disappeared; […] breakfast was good, very nice selection; ample parking and is within a moderate distance to downtown Metropolis; Overall, like i've written, it was an ok stay. But for the money, will not be going back; if you are in a pinch and absolutely need some place to stay that's not trashy, this is your place; however, if you want amenities and an actual suite, not the illusion of one, then you're better off staying in very nearby Paducah, KY. My room had a king-size bed, an easy chair with foot rest, a microwave, a small refrigerator, and free wireless for my computer. What more does a weary traveler need? The bed was comfortable and the pillows, though a bit small, were plentiful and conducive to sleeping. For thouse who need a large screen television, it had one of those, too. The room […] was large and comfortable; though the bathroom was a bit cramped it was clean and adequate for the purpose. The breakfast in the lobby was worth taking advantage of, but get down there early or there won't be much left to eat. Room never got cool and the air conditioner made weird noises through the night. Didn't complain because we were only spending one night. There isn't a whole lot in Metropolis, but Paducah has a variety of dining options.

I requested a roll away bed which was not in the room upon arrival. However, I noticed it wason the reservation when I picked it up at the front desk. I called from room to request the bed again and she told me about the $10 charge. I said I was aware due to the fact I had previously requested one. It was brought up promptly. Nice room very clean. comfortable beds. Great TV! Service was very good and friendly people wanting to help you with anything you needed. Breakfast was very good and FREE! Traveling with a dog sometimes limits our choices our room was reasonably clean there were what appeared to be bugs killed on the walls that housekeeping should have wiped off and the remote for the TV didn't work - but all in all I'd stay again

The Metropolis location is clean and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and professional. The free breakfast is delicious and offers much more than cereal and bagels. I enjoy the pool, hot tub and exercise room. I stay here often and have NEVER had a bad experience.
