Detta hotell var ett väldigt litet och mysigt hotell, med betoning på litet. Rummen (ca 5 m2) var väldigt små, men det fungerar om man bara är i NY för att besöka staden och inte hänger på hotellet särskilt mycket. Sängen, som är byggd för att likna en sjömanssäng var precis lagom lång för mig (1.80 m) är man längre kan det bli obekvämt. Jag fick först […] ett hörn med en ännu kortare (!) säng men personalen var förstående och bytte snabbt när jag bad om det. Personalen var guld värd och väldigt tjänstvilliga. Hotellets restaurang var utmärkt och tydligen berömd för sin Couscous. Stället var packat med folk som kom för den rätten. Läckert hotell med superhäftig bar och trevlig restaurang i anslutning till hotellet. Serviceminded personal med ett undantag, tyvärr. Trevligt med gratis cykeluthyrning vilket vi också använde. The Jane Hotel är ett bra hotell överlag. Dock måste påpekas att rummen är mycket SMÅ (båthyttsstorlek) vilket är svårt om man har mycket bagage med sig. Jag skulle ej heller rekommendera bo där under varma perioder som vår och sommar, då det blir varmt inomhus. Visst finns AC, men den låter ganska mycket. Fönstrena ut är litet så det går inte att få […] så mycket frisk luft därifrån. Bra också om man kan få rum mot Jane St och inte mot den större vägen mot vattnet. Dusch och toaletter var rena och fräscha och det var knappast rusning trots fullbokat hotell när vi var där. En fundering var varför vi alltid fick nya handdukar varje dag men att sängarna aldrig bäddades? Frågade aldrig hotellet, men det var konstigt. Servicen är trevlig och de löser de flesta frågor snabbt. Ligger vid Hudson floden, så det är bara att knyta träningsskorna och börja träna/springa när man kommer ut. I närheten ligger även en del restauranger som det går att äta både frukost, lunch och middag på. The Jane Hotel är ett mycket prisvärt hotell med ett perfekt läge nära Meat Packing District i New York. Rummen med Bunk Beds är trånga men fungerar bra för att sova i och att förvara sina saker i då man är ute på upptäckarstrået. Toalett och dusch är renstädade, men för dig som inte gillar att dela sådana utrymmen med andra är inte detta boendet för […] dig. Det är något lyhört, men AC-anläggningen dränker effektivt alla andra ljud. Restaurangen i bottenplan är en pärla, och vi kan starkt rekommendera deras frukokstmeny. I bottenplan finns även en nattklubb som kan uppfattas som störande för ljudkänsliga. Omgivningen med de låga byggnaderna och de lummiga gatorna är en liten oas i New Yorks annars häktiska miljöer. En sak till: New Yorks taxichaufförer hittar inte till 113 Jane Street. Åk till Meat Packing och promenera de sista kvarteren. Läs mer

Hård säng, litet rum. Annars var det ett bra hotell, jag förlorade pass, kort, pengar på stan och personalen hjälpte mig verkligen fint med kontakter med polisen osv. Meatpacking är ett supermysigt område, och Houston river är underbar speciellt vid solnedgång. STORT plus för gratis lån av cykel!

Great Hotel with friendly staff and a very nice location. They have bikes you can borrow with easy access to the wonderful biking path on the complete west side of Manhattan. The bunk bed rooms are really small though and that can get a bit annoying after a while, especially if you are two persons that have a lot of luggage. Hotellet ligger väldigt bra till i mysiga kvarter, med närhet till bra restauranger och trevliga promenadstråk. Nära till tunnelbanan. På minussidan var de löjligt små och klaustrofobiska rummen, den idiotiska hissen och ett uselt wifi. På morgonen hade vattnet i hela kvarteret stängts av pga en massiv läcka nånstans. Det var förstås inte hotellets […] fel. men de kunde ha erbjudit ett inträde till något gym eller något motsvarande. Det gick inte ens att borsta tänderna innan utcheckningen. Hotellet ligger i ett lungt område. Rummet inte stort men helt ok. Det känns inte som att vara på Manhattan då tempot är mycket lungare, många restauranger i området

När jag var där renoverade de andra våningen och vissa rum på 3dje samt ett av badrummen på min våning var sönder. Renoveringen började ofta vid 8 tiden. men ljudliga apparater och liknande först efter 9 som vanligast. Servicen var jätte bra och alla var trevliga på stället. This is my second stay at the Jane, and I really like this hotel. It offers a unique experience of boat-cabin accommodation. Yes, the rooms are small, but they are well designed and space-maximized (for as long as you don't have too much luggage, you'll be more than fine). Washroom facilities are shared, but they are kept clean and are never busy. The […] staff is great -- helpful, friendly and polite. The location is a short distance from Greenwich Village (10-1 min. walk), a couple of blocks from High Line, and in close proximity (10 min. walk) from the metro. The location is excellent and the price is good - just know what you are getting into. The rooms are of course tiny, but well-laid-out so it wasn't a problem. What I hadn't thought of was that because the rooms are so small and your head is right next to the door, and also a few feet from your neighbors doors, you will hear everything going on in the […] hallway, all night long, all comings and goings and door openings and closings. Accommodation in NY is expensive, so for the money, you don't really get a lot here. However, for NY, The Jane is a good option. I had a single cabin room and although it was too hot for my taste, it was otherwise functional and comfortable. The shared shower facilities were OK, but cleanliness relied on other occupants rather than any particularly […] regular attention during the day. Annoyingly, the shower/toilet areas had those very powerful hand driers which could be heard through the night if people opted to use them. I am a light sleeper, so just used ear plugs. The location is good and is a 5 minute walk to/from 14th St station on the ACE line. I found it a safe area to walk around day or night. Läs mer

I just loved this hotel. Great deal if you are traveling alone. The neighborhood is awesome and so is the hotel itself. They have a great restaurant, very friendly/helpful staff and at night you can go the bar and grab some drinks. Couldn't be more convenient!

Oh if the walls could talk. This hotel has a story and a history. It felt like going back in time. The room was extremely small...smaller than I have ever seen. It felt like being in a train sleeper car or in the smallest cruise-ship cabin. Every thing was effecient and comfortable except for the mattress which could use a mattress pad. First, let me say that I was charmed the moment I walked in the door...the decor was really interesting and, well, charming. The staff was really wonderful from start to finish...having stayed all over New York, I've yet to find such a winning combination as the Jane Hotel. Two things I would point out: First, when you get your room key the desk person […] will tell you to put part of the key ring in the hole next to the door in your room. Put the key fob in the hole and you'll have electricity in your room...take it out and the power goes out. This must save them big bucks and I think that is the "green"-est thing I've ever seen. Second, not to complain, but the rooms really are small. I'm just over six feet tall and could touch both sides of the room with my hands without even trying. SMALL! But, oddly cozy. The design of this room was terrific, especially the coolly weird power stick. The smallness of the room did not detract from the comfort, and small amenities and a great rainfall showerhead in the shared bathrooms won me over for good.

From a single person to a couple - this has it all. Small rooms for the single traveler to to the couple - it's perfect. Wifi works, clean rooms, West Village, and a cool little 'organic' restaurant - go for it and enjoy.

Booked one night at the Jane, and was tremendously impressed with service. Hotel upgraded me from standard cabin (twin bed) to captain's room (king bed), which was AMAZING. Very chic, cool, and hip. Great decor, staff is really friendly and nice. Hotel was clean. I will definitely stay here again.

Actually stayed here because everything I was doing on this recent trip to NYC was in the West Village so I figured this would be an "easy commute." It was. The room is very akin to a sleeper on a train so be warned, but if you've read the description, you know what you're in for. The entire place was extremely clean esp. the room and the shared bathroom. […] I thought sharing a bathroom would be offputting, but every time I went (i drink a LOT of water so it was often!) there was never anybody else there. Granted the little rooms are small so i would think a stay longer than 2 days would be maddening but for me for a single night it was a good deal. I had trouble sleeping, but that was more about me than about the room so I honestly am not going to fault The Jane for that. My ONLY complaint is that it is VERY west, ie. on the West Side Hwy and the showers were a tad cramped: it was hard to hang up your rope, slippers, etc. in a spot where they wouldn't get some backsplash from the shower. Great location. Very close to the Highline which was good to explore. Clean and comfortable if very small rooms. Bathrooms at the end of the hall were my only concern but worked out fine. Never waited for a shower. Housekeeping kept the bathrooms nice and clean at all times. Food in the cafe was very good. It was fun staying at the Jane however the heating system ruined our nights . . . it was just too hot, even with the window wide open. Most staff were friendly and efficient, a few not.

The Jane is a lovely little place! The staff members are all polite, prompt, and helpful. The amenities are nice, too! There is a charming little cafe downstairs in the lobby, and room service is also available. And the rates are very reasonable, especially given the location (West Village/Chelsea). We had a fantastic stay in a Captains Cabin here. It's right on the banks of the Hudson, which is great for running/walking with views of the Statue of Liberty in the distance. There are also plenty of restaurants/bars within easy walking distance, and subways nearby, so a great location. They do have a night club, so you need to choose your room carefully […] - ask for one away from the bar area and you'll be fine. We had a lovely stay, the room was absolutley lovely, and the staff courteous and responsive. After 4-5 trips to New York, this is the first hotel I would recommend, and it will be top of our list for any future trips. Läs mer

Although the price is probably fair enough for New York, I would highly recommend picking another hotel if you plan on getting a good nights sleep, or if you are looking for somewhere close to a metro stop. This is our favorite place to stay. The staff both at the front desk and in the cafe are great - gorgeous styling, clean,comfortable, and location can't be beat.

The Jane is clean and well-located, and the hotel would have gotten a significantly better review from me if not for the following. When you check in, the hotel puts a hold on your credit card for the total cost of the room, plus $50 a day, for incidentals. We didn't have a problem with this. When we checked out, we decided to pay the whole amount […] in cash, and assumed (reasonably, I think) that the hold would be lifted right away. Well, it's been FIVE days, and the hold is still there, meaning the credit card is almost maxed out. It's just been a pain, and a very unnecessary one at that. Wonderfully located.. But... couldn't control temperature in the room . It was sooo hot I opened the window and finally put on the very loud airconditioner.... The mattress should've been replaced last year! Otherwise... very pleasant staff and it was what it was advertised as...

I spent one night there and it was fun. Everything was very clean and the staff was fun and courteous. Room was comfortable but I must say, the common bathrooms was a trip. Not bad at all, just showering in a stall next to a complete stranger was unique. I would go back if I was staying alone.

Location and cost were the motivating factors in choosing the Jane Hotel. Staff was helpful and questions were answered . The Pod Hotel used to be my go-to hotel for short trips to NYC; however, it has gotten very popular with youths (read: noisy), and pricey per sq ft. For others who have found this to be true, The Jane Hotel might be a good alternative, if you're willing to sacrifice the in-suite sink and still a few more sq ft. A bit more out-of-the-way, in the West […] Village, The Jane Hotel offers a touch of style and friendly service with a bit more peace and quiet. As others have mentioned, it's a location with a history, and the management has preserved some heart-warming nostalgic touches: the staff is immaculately dressed in "hospitality formal" (the doorman provided a grand welcome); the room keys are magnetized, while resembling old keys; robes and disposable slippers are provided. Water and toiletries are also provided. What they seem to understand is that a little touch here and there goes a long way. Supporting The Jane Hotel in a comfortable stay is the adjacent restaurant, Cafe Gitane; the hotel's close proximity to the High Line (a stroll through this new park is highly recommended); some rooms' gorgeous view of the Hudson; and of course, the West Village's boutiques and quality eateries. Of course, some aspects left much to be desired: If you're traveling by MTA and carrying heavy luggage, it is a bit of a hike from the nearest subway station; my quilted coverlet had a large discoloration (oil stain?) about half the size of my palm; my room was close enough to the bathroom that I could hear the loud Xlerator hand dryers (as loud as a vacuum cleaner); the television was loud, and watching it made me nervous of the noise I was causing (adjusting from volume level 1 to 2 = silent to louder than normal conversation); and the sink counters and floors were uncomfortably wet in the morning. Awesome all around! Not your average hotel room - Compact - Clean - Charming and sweet! Right on the river. Great, quiet residential neighborhood with great shops and restaurtants an easy walk away.
