I am not the most seasoned traveler ever but I have been around and this is by far the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. We were upgraded to a larger room at check in with the most spectacular view of the Mediterranean I could ever imagen. The two restaurantes we visited were both spectacular and the bartenders actually know how to make a proper […] manhattan which I couldn't find anywhere else in Europe. My stay was in late winter but I can only imagine that during the summer the pool and proximity to the beach would be even more impressive. I hope I have a chance to stay with them again soon! W says it all. Wonderful! Very modern. Location is a little secluded, but only a 7 minute walk from Barceloneta. But why would you want to leave the place? Everything you could want is there :)

What a fantastic hotel, so much fun in one place!

Great building, but a little bit far from all the walking areas. I would want to be a little bit north of the water to be closer to the food and shops. If you love the beach, then it is right next to the hotel.

This is my 3rd stay this year in barcelona and I have now found the hotel I want to come back to. From arrival to check in they were fabulous. Our room was gorgeous - could have done with it being on a higher floor - we were on the 1st - but realistically my rate with hotels.com was fantastic - so even though we asked to move higher and they said they […] would do their utmost we were happy. Unbelievable room! The view was breathtaking. Service was outstanding and the pool area a dream come true for sunbathers!

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at the W Barcelona. As a young, stylish couple the hotel seemed catered to us. Pros: - Room: The room was beautiful. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The view was amazing. Motorized blackout curtains. Need I say more? -Ambiance & Location: Outdoor beds, cabanas and lounge chairs (both at beach and pool area) […] free to guests. Absolutely incredible location right on the beach. Very liberal culture-- expect 50% of the women to be topless while tanning. Don't miss dining at the Bravo restaurant (quite expensive but worth it-- make sure to try the world's best Jamon Iberico de Bellota). Cons: -Room: After spending a night at the hotel some (metaphorical) cracks began to show in it's perfection. It became apparent that the designers and furnishers valued form over function. Some examples include the weak water pressure in the shower, the glass walls separating the shower and toilet from the rest of the room (forget privacy), most of the lamps didn't seem to serve any function other than to throw some dim colors onto the wall. This theme of form over function carried into the hallway, which was poorly lit and dank. At the end of the hallway there was a large glass door that opened out onto a metal stairway with a beautiful view of the sea-- but it was designated as an emergency exit only and was linked to an alarm. -Ambiance and Location: More families with young children and older couples than I expected, given the nature of the hotel. I imagine all the music and lights must have given them a headache. It is a 3-4 km walk to La Rambla, which is the main drag through Barcelona. If you don't want to spend half an hour walking into town, your only options are expensive cabs or city busses (which are quite nice). The Eclipse club/bar at the top of the hotel is rather small, didn't have much comfortable seating and smelled a bit like vomit during our stay. Very enjoyable stay. The service was efficient and friendly.

I spent two nights in this hotel and they never even cleaned my room. I paid extra money for an upgraded room and was put on the first floor with a lousy view. At no time did anyone attempt to clean the room or change the towels. This is NOT the service level of a deluxe hotel and is not worth the money it charges.

This hotel looked stunning on the website and did not disappoint upon arrival. A gorgeous design hotel which had the best looking staff I've ever seen. However, the location was a bit far out for my liking and they are building right next door although we didn't hear any noise from this. The hotel service was not great. We had a problem at check-in […] and despite being told by phone that our rooms were ready when we went back to reception to get room keys one of the rooms wasn't ready. We then had to wait till 4.30 despite check in being at 3pm. There was also a few problems at breakfast. Big, big queues at both restaurants on both mornings. They don't seem to have big enough breakfast areas to accomodate the number of guests. Also there didn't seem to be enough staff as we had to ask several times for tea/coffe and then had to wait for a long time. Excellent service. Great views. Sizeable rooms. Wonderfully quiet at night. Tempurpedic mattresses, however, are a bad decision. For a relatively young and hip crowd hotel, it is shocking that the W went with mattresses that are for people who are elderly, have no muscle mass or have brittle bones (or all three) - too soft, bad for the back and not […] great for a roll in the hay. When I tried to book a massage to cure my aching back (from the overly soft mattress) it was impossibe to get a reservation without more than 24 hours advance notice - regardless of whether it was a weekend or weekday. Either the SPA is too small or it is understaffed or both. In-room dining for breakfast is both less expense and much better than the 1st floor restaurant's buffet. Läs mer

We enjoyed our stay in Barcelona immensely - partly due to our fantastic hotel which was really a 5* ++++ Although quite expensive and we wouldn't neccesarily eat there - the factilities, service and bedrooms were superb; positioned on the beach with breathtaking views. Would def stay there again,

We loved the room and view (we had a Fabulous room). It was large, with a huge rainshower. There was a problem with the hot water but they sent someone to sort it out very quickly. The location is lovely, but not all that convenient as it is a fair walk to the centre (about half an hour) although there are cafes and restaurants closer than that, along […] the beach a little way, and a little further on along the road and at the port. For this reason we chose to stay at the hotel for drinks and dinner the first night but the prices were so inflated that we decided not to do that again. The bar area and restaurants are great but you get the feeling that the hotel is a little 'conceited'. It still irks me that a hotel of this calibre and price still charge for in-room Wi-fi when you get it free at the Holiday Inn and Best Western type places. However, the W are not alone in charging for this as it seems to be the norm for expensive hotels. how refreshing it would be for a top hotel to include it in the price of the room. All in all I would definitely recommend, there are plenty of places to eat and drink in Barcelona for a more reasonable price and returning to this hotel was always a pleasure. Läs mer

Fantastic view and cool lounge area.

The W hotel is really nice if you are looking to relax by the Baraca sea. The staff is friendly, except for the breakfast head waitress who was very rude. The hotel is very spacious and the rooms are sublime. There are two issues that you have to aware of: 1- There isn't sufficient staff for such a hotel. Nous garderons un bon souvenir de notre séjour, en particulier la chambre avec vue sur la mer et l'entrée du port de Barcelone. Par contre, je ne comprends pas la politique qui consiste à faire payer le wifi 19 euros par device !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The suite was amazing and best was sunrising from the sea wakes just perfectly to morning, simply call to the reception and get breakfast delivered in room. I will 100% sure come again and stay for few nights in this superior hotel!

Et flott moderne hotell med all luksus du kan tenke deg. Ligger på beachen og har en flott badestrand. Hotellet har alle fasiliteter, og er veldig ungt og trendy. Selv om vi er i voksen alder trivdes vi godt. Vil absolutt anbefale det til andre.

Dette er bare et helt fantastisk hotell å bo på. Alle som jobber der, og da mener jeg absolutt alle, var så blide, hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Hotellet har også en fantastisk beliggenhet., helt nede paa stranden. Her vil vi bare bo igjen, snart!

From the moment of arriving at the hotel to checking out you will experience amazing service non rivalled by other hotels. Simply amazing rooms, design and comfort. Pool area and views from all rooms are super. The single number "Whatever" service (where you can get help with everything you ask) is a fantastic idea and works great with very service […] oriented operators. Only minus is the wireless internet which comes with high price, and signal strength in room was very poor, as well as some places in hotel. No per room price for WIFI, and as such you have to pay 3 times if you have ex. iPhone, iPad and laptop :-( (you can pay for a lowend hotelroom with free wifi at other hotels for the same price) Läs mer

Hotel war zu Ostern überbucht/ Alle Mitarbeiter gestresst und zu guter letzt hatten wir ein Zimmer in der ersten Etage, wo wir gegen eine Mauer schauten obwohl wir Meeeblick und Blick auf die Stadt gebucht hatten. Also 1. Etage meiden. Diese Zimmer Kat geht vom 1. Stock bis zum 23.

Modernes, wunderschönes Hotel mit sehr schöner Poolanlage. Die Skybar im 26. Stock mit Blick auf das nächtliche Barcelona ist auch sehr zu empfehlen. Vom toll eingerichteten Zimmer hatten wir einen traumhaften Blick auf das Meer. Nur das Waschbecken direkt im Zimmer und das WC nur durch eine Glaswand getrennt ist vielleicht nicht jedermanns Sache. Después de ser un fan de los Relais & Chateaux, es la primera vez que quedo 100% satisfecho en un Gran Hotel.

The hotel is PERFECT, even if the rooms are smaller than expected (wonderful), the view is breath taking. Only bad point: too far from the clubs/the city center by walking, but it's worth it! PRICE: ouchie...

This is a perfect hotel for a weekend or a longer stay in Barcelona. Grab a taxi outside the hotel and for 5-6 Euros it will take you to the shopping streets. The facilites at the hotel are just what they should. The Spa and gym are better than expected, and the outside terraces are amazing. The Barceloneta starts at the hotel, so you have 50 m to the […] beach. The rooms are nice, and even more important extreamly well isolated. We did not hear a singel voice or sound from the corridore or other rooms during our stay. The staff are friendly and can give really good advice about restaurants, shops and will help to get tickets for shows, footballgames etc. We had a dinner at the BraVo restaurant and we found it perfect. Friendly staff, good service, fantastic food og a winelist longer than the yellow pages.The wine prices are what you expect, but starts at 18 Euros and rices to 2500. Veary beautiful hotel with unique beach location. The overall quality corresponds to the 5-star status. there are 3 drawbacks: 1. you have to take a cab to the city, this is 10 min ride, 7-10 euro each way, 2. a bit rude and unexperienced concierge service, 3. room is very nicely designed, however the toilet and bathroom are made of glass and can be […] seen from the room, so there is no privacy. We really enjoyed our stay at the W Barcelona (3 nights). Everything was like described in the website : wonderful view, huge windows, very comfortable bed and tropical rain shower, just amazing. Rooms are perfectly soundprood and it is a call for rest. Personel is very friendly and helpful, everybody speaks English, the Whatever Whenever service is […] always available and reactive. We would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel. We would only regret that cattering in room is VERY expensive and a +4€ charge for in-room delivery is a bit much, considering what we paid for one night. Läs mer
