billigt hotell, man får det man betalar för, dvs ett rum och två sängar. inget annat. det som var extra störande var att det inte gick att avsäga sig städningen, vilket gjorde att man blev väckt mellan 09-11 varje dag av städtanten som prompt skulle in och städa, väldigt frustrerande. men helt ok hotell om man inte sover för länge. Boende 11-15/6-2011 Med tanke på priset var förväntningarna inte så stora.Men döm om vår förvåning.Allt var till belåtenhet , rent och bra frukost. Personalen var MYCKET tillmötesgående. Ligger en bit från centrum, men skönt med en prommenad och lätt att ta sig dit. Rekommenderas verkligen.

I would like to thank Capital inn for a great stay last week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to the chef Hassan! A plus for the breakfast as well. Me and my father can absolutely recommend this place for future guests!

Jag och min man bodde på The Capital Inn i fem nätter, och vi är otroligt nöjda. Personalen var extremt vänliga och hjälpsamma, god frukost på mornarna, mycket prisvärt och med gångavstånd till Reykjavik Cetrum. Jag rekommenderar absolut detta hotell till alla! Stuart och Helena

A great cheap hotel which gives a lot more than it's 1 star rating. Rooms very clean, helpful staff and close enough to city centre to walk if needed.

We arrived just after midnight at the Capital In and were able to check in with the night porter, which was a relief. We found the room spare but clean and comfortable. Stayed here just for one night last week on our trip to Iceland. One of the biggest factors for us when choosing a hotel is the cleanliness of a place. Capital Inn was clean and spacious. Beds were decently comfortable and came w/ bed linens and towels (not all of our accommodations in Iceland did). We had a sink in our room, with a shower and bath […] down the hall (one for men, one for women to share with about 9 other rooms). It didn't seem too crowded on our stay so we never had to wait for the bathroom. There was a common area on each floor with a TV and couch, but we did not use these. We had a 3rd floor room so it was a little bit of a pain carrying luggage up (not sure if there was an elevator)...but it wasn't that bad. Our room was on the outside facing a highway. We slept fine, but if you don't sleep well, you may want to request a room on a different side of the building. Parking was free. Downtown Reykjavik was a no more than a 10 min. drive. We found adequate parking downtown (free if you can find a place in residential area, otherwise you'll pay metered parking). This is a nice bargain spot if you don't mind being a long way out from the center of the city. We were told it was a 30 minute walk, but even at a brisk pace, we found it nearly double that. Clean room, decent food, but just a long way from anything.

Great front desk help. He had lots of driving ideas for daily tours. Nice breakfast. Dinner restaurant a bit unreliable but provided a good discussion with others. Shower and toilets are down the hall. Shower stall small and high off the floor. A bit precarious. Terrific value compared to Icelandic prices in general.

It serves the role of a stop over perfectly....if you've landed late, but want to start the next day in the capital, this is ideal. Close to the harbour (5 min drive from whale watching/opera house)....24 hr reception... breakfast thrown in (more than the Hilton does!)...it is what it is but it does it very nicely. Great price, service, breakfast, location...only one problem. They need to fix the main door. It closes itself too strong which ended up slamming to the wall. Compare to other […] downtown location, I take this hotel any day. We spent 6 nights here. We got there at 8am. They let us eat the free breakfast there while they hurried up to clean up 2 rooms that I reserved. Before we finished the breakfast they have the room ready. Nearby is a very nice park and bay with bicycle and walking path. The hotel is right off the highway 40. Keep in mind this is Iceland. Highway means 2 lanes street in US. I have a car for the week. Driving distance to downtown/port is only 5 mins away. Parking is easy to find is downtown. I did saw quite a few folks staying in this hotel walk to downtown. There is a Subway sandwich shop 5 mins away. The hotel also serves local Icelander lunch and dinner. Their prices are okay (2.5X to 3X more than US but that is normal). WiFi signal is available throughout the building. I use Skype to make a few free call back to US without any problems. Shower is very nice, strong water pressure. Tap water tastes like spring water. I went to Iceland to volunteer outside of Reykjavik, but wanted to explore the city for a few days before and after. I had a small budget, so I chose to stay at The Capital-Inn in one of their dormitory style rooms. It was more than I expected! The rooms were so clean and the prices were almost too good to be true. They had a really nice common kitchen […] area, which also helped to cut-back on costs. Though the location was not ideal, they were within a quick walk to many different bus routes, all connecting to the hottest parts of Reykjavik and other neighboring cities. The more distant location was an easy trade for the great customer service and un-beatable prices. Besides, I saw the outside city-centre location as a plus! It gave me the opportunity to see much more of the city by taking a cheap bus ride all around town. I will definitely be staying at The Capital-Inn again, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to explore parts of the city that maybe haven't been beaten down by tourist after tourist, without hesitation! Best guesthouse ever. So lenient with everything, so nice, and the breakfast was so cozy. We made awesome friends there and had the best time. The staff is very nice and helpful. The room and bathrooms were very clean. The walls are very thin so you can hear everyone. Doors are very loud when closing and opening. Was very hard to sleep without ear plugs.

Having just written a terrible review of a hotel in Iceland this one was a refreashing change. Everything was ok and very clean. Staff were efficent if a little brisk. No complaints at all.

The Captal Inn was fantastic and at a good price for iceland. We were only going to stay the first night here but ended up spending the first two nights and the last two nights in this hotel. We hired a car from here also and the owners were extremely helpful and very friendly. My boyfriend accidently left his card at a petrol station a 3 hour drive […] away and the staff at the Captial Inn called the station and arranged for the card to be sent to the hotel that evening (via a truck driver coming to the city) free of charge! The staff was friendly and helpful. A little bit of a walk (20 minutes) to downtown, but it only a few steps from a bus stop, and you could easily walk to the BSI bus terminal or the domestic airport. The layout of this hotel is like a hostel. Shower/bathroom is shared. The room was clean, comfortable, and the staff very helpful. Location not ideal as it's a distance from downtown, but worked fine for me. I walked to downtown, but would recommend using bus or cab. Breakfast is continental, so-so rating. áttaði mig ekki á því að klósett væri á ganginnum.Ekki hægt að loka Glugga sem var opinn .Rúmið og mjúkt fyrir minn smekk.öðrur leiti ekkert að því að gista þarna.

Der var rimelig støj fra den nærliggende hovedvej.

Mjög snyrtilegt herbergi og snyrtingarnar hreinar, mjög góður kostur fyrir lágt verð. Morgunmaturinn alveg ljómandi eins og annað , smekklegt og snyrtilegt.

The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is simple but ok. We also ate a dinner at the hotel, and it had an excellent price-quality ratio! The location of the hotel is rather inconvenient (about 30mins walk from the centre), but if you have a car, that does not matter. Capital Inn is een vriendelijk en betaalbaar hotel. De ligging is uniek en dicht bij een groot winkelcentrum en een prachtige fietsroute. Het hotel is erg kindvriendelijk en biedt gelegenheid om lokale specialiteiten te proeven en fietsen te huren. Dit alles in een rustige, niet toeristische buurt.

Perfekt hvis man vil have det godt uden at det koster en herregård. Trods fælles bad og toilet på gangen, kan det varmt anbefales. De ansatte er meget flinke.

Vi brugte det én overnatning, og var generelt godt tilfreds i forhold til prisen. Fint værelse, rimelig rent og pænt. Fornuftig morgenmadsbuffet over "sydlandsk standard" og lidt under "continental standard". Generelt fin service. Hotellet er nok mest interessant hvis man har bil eller anden nem transport.

Dejligt og billigt hotel, med god og venlig service. Vi kommer helt klart tilbage til hotellet, når vi i fremtiden skal en tur til Reykjavik.

Sympa, propre, pas cher ( pour la ville). Mais les portes claquent toutes seule et ça fait vibrer les murs ! Près d'une grande route assez fréquentée ( bruit ). et un peu loin du centre ville à pied.

Het was een zooitje bij het in-checken, dus de kamer die ik geboekt had (eenpersoons) was niet beschikbaar. Dat kwam beter uit, zij de medewerker, want ik zou een grotere kamer krijgen. Ik kreeg dus een driepersoonskamer voor mezelf. Echter, 2 van de drie bedden waren duidelijk beslapen. De bedden waren niet meer opgemaakt, er lag (niet te veel, maar […] toch wat) troep op de grond en van de drie glazen die bij het wastafeltje stonden was het niet te zien welken er wel en welken niet gebruikt waren. Mijn eigen bed zag er keurig uit, met een deken en handdoek. Echter, de handdoek voelde wat vochtig aan, en doordat de andere twee bedden al beslapen waren, was ik er absoluut niet zeker van of de vorige twee bewoners van de kamer mijn handdoek stiekem wel of niet hadden gebruikt. Die handdoek heb ik dus zeker niet gebruikt, evenals de handdoek die bij de wastafel hing. De tv was duidelijk kapot. Ik probeerde het geluid wat zachter te doen, maar de afstandsbediening werkte niet. Dus drukte ik op het knopje op de tv waarop stond: Vol -. Echter, het volume ging alleen maar omhoog. Vervolgens drukte ik op het knopje Vol +, maar ook hier ging het volume alleen maar omhoog, wat resulteerde in een mega hard geluid wat niet naar beneden te krijgen was. Goed, geen tv dus. Het was wel prettig om WIFI in de kamer te hebben, hoewel ze bij het inchecken niet vertellen welke server je moet hebben. Er zijn er meerdere beschikbaar. Läs mer

Þetta var allt í góðu lagi nema hávaði frá umferð fyrri nóttina. Við fengum að flytja herbergi sem snýr frá umferðargötu, brunkerfi fór í gang á milli 7.00 og 7.30 Það tók 15 mín. að slökkva á því.

udover at der ikke toilet og bad i værelset, er alt andet meget tilfredstillende. Der er rolige omgivelser og morgenmaden er god. Muligheden for selv og kan lave mad er også en god supplement. Men man skal gøre sig opmærksom på ny ankomne uden bil at det er lidt langt til byen og transportmulighederne med de offentlige transports muligheder er lidt […] besværlige. Läs mer

Þurfti að gista eina nótt og fór með flugrútunni næsta morgun. Fór mjög snemma og get því ekki sagt neitt um morgunverðinn. Rúmið var dálítið mjúkt, en mér fannst það samt þægilegt. Sameiginleg snyrting og sturta á gangi var mjög snyrtileg. Þráðlaust net virkaði mjög vel.
