Hotel is on a busy street with construction. Behind the hotel is a junk yard. Not real nice to wake up and look out to see a junk yard. Breakfast below avg. Staff helpful. Overall avg. Easy parking. Quiet hallways and Lobby for a Friday night. Price was right.

Very nice hotel - great breakfast. Lots of small children on weekends so family oriented but others need to be tolerant of crying babies ;-). Rooms are upscale with lots of amenities. I rated the neighborhood lower because you have a junk yard on one side with donkeys and a lot of construction going on, but it's close to Buccees and lots of shopping […] and restaurants. Great place to stay, enjoyed ability to easily get to San Marcos, San Antonio, or the Target diwn the street. Road construction was a little annoying during rush hour (2013), but expect no problem once that is complete.

Staff was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Location turned out to be good - in close proximity of all the places we ventured to - Gruene, downtown New Braunfels, shopping. Once the road construction is completed, it will be an even nicer place to stay Only area we felt could use some improvement was the bathroom […] - it needed more shelf space to put personal items. The bathroom (#212) had very limited cabinet space to place personal and clothing items while getting ready. Other than that, the place was great! Oh - breakfast selection was really great too - more than we expected, not your basic 'continental breakfast. Loved the waffles! Continue the good work! Läs mer

The fire alarm pierced through the darkness of my room, sending jolts through me like a 1,000 forks across a hundred plates , rousing me from a deep and much anticipated sleep, as I arrived past midnight the night before. My ears were like giant megaphones, collecting the screeching sounds, that sent adrenaline racing through my bloodstream and all […] for the sake of... a burnt bagel in the breakfast area! And it wan't even mine. How would you rate your experience, especially when you discovered this was not the 1st time for an episode like this. Really would have loved the hotel. Pretty small elevator and door entrance for a bellman's cart to navigate through. Gemerally like Wingates, though. Läs mer

This was a really nice hotel. The lobby and elevator were a little unkempt but the room was really comfortable and it was easy access right off I-35.

The room was clean and comfortable, although the heating/cooling was difficult to fine-tune. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe staying at this hotel and the staff was conscientious. Being able to have breakfast there was a bonus and the large variety of foods seemed fresh. The hotel was quiet, although the two donkeys on the lot next door brayed […] at sunrise. I made the mistake of staying over Christmas. The maid did not clean our room on December 24th. She simply made the bed and took all of the towels. When we came back to the hotel on the evening of the 24th we had a note to please leave the do not disturb sign on our door so that the employees could have Christmas off. I have no problem with this request […] but feel they should have double supplied our room on the 24th. When I called the front desk stating there were no towels in our room, I was told I would have to come get them because there would be nobody there to deliver them for another hour. I feel that the management of the hotel didn't bother to think the holiday through and didn't care about their customers at all. This chain has gone to the bottom of my list when booking a hotel due to this stay. Läs mer

I have stayed at this hotel twice before and would again. The hotel is starting to show some wear so I hope they plan on doing some upgrades. The beds are comfy ans breakfast good.

The condition and upkeep of the hotel is very bad. It seems the hotel has not received maintenance since opening. Walls have stains, marks, and some fiixtures are damaged. It is dissappointing. Talking to the staff (housekeepers) they mentioned they manager does not seem to care much about these issues.

Wonderful experience. Very close to everything! Love that they welcome pets. WILL stay there again! Does NOT smell like pets have been there. Room VERY clean. Continental breakfast was very good. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were going to San Marcus, TX and decided to stay here which was about 10 minuted from where we were going. It was not right next to the freeway which was great. We have stayed next to the freeway and all you hear is the traffic and trucks. This was so enjoyable. People previously mentioned the donkey […] in the middle of the night...one time in the morning. However, not a problem. Take your choice one time or hearing all the traffic noise through the night. The bed was not very comfortable. They need new mattresses. Condition of hotel good but they could work on upkeep. Breakfast was very good. They had hot items like scrambled eggs and sausage. Heated indoor pool and hot tub was very nice. Staff very friendly.

Nice building in a good location convenient to the Freeway, food, etc... Staff were adequate. However, lots of letdowns. The parking lot is half flooded and will always be because it was built with poor drainage. The "free high speed internet" is very slow. The TV is low def and the channel lineup printed didn't match the TV. The mattress was in poor […] shape. The quality of the complimentary breakfast was undoubtedly the worst I've ever had, with horrible powdered eggs, paper thin bacon like material, milk stored in a refrigerator that couldn't keep it cold, watered down orange juice, and a waffle maker that left soggy undercooked waffles. Overall, what could have been a nice hotel was a letdown. It doesn't have to be, if Wingate would just put in a little effort. Läs mer

Right across the street from Buc-ees, and great access to I35. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Very quiet, not issues. Good breakfast, and overall a great value compared to surrounding hotels.

Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly with smiles upon arriving to check in. Hotel was conveniently located right off main highway. Full breakfast was offered in the morning featuring all our favorite items and was staffed to refill and keep items hot during scheduled serving hours, very tasty.We had a very pleasurable stay.

Hotel was great. Kids got in trouble for being loud, but it was handled well. The view was of a very trashy field with 3 donkeys of which the kids were afraid that the donkeys would hurt themselves due to the trash in the bushes. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was decent. Would stay again.

The hotel is newer and seems to be the first commercial building in a developing area just off the interstate. That being said, it is not in a bad spot. Gruene, a great historic area is right around the corner, there are multiple restaraunts and shopping oppurtunities within a half mile radius (includudng a Buccee's), and the proximity to I35 makes […] a trip to San Antonio very easy. We stayed 3 nights and found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. I would recomend this hotel to anyone and I would stay there again. The only other thing I would add after reading one previous review is that if you see some pasture land with a couple of donkeys roaming around remember that you are in Texas. Läs mer
