we stayed as a treat for my partners 50th birthday. The hotel was lovely, very well located for walking into the city but still quiet at night. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly.

It was an interesting experience. The hotel used to be a palace, so it has a very beautiful entrance into a nice courtyard. The beds are comfortable. The restaurant serves very good food, which is especially important for dinners, because the hotel is somewhat remote from the lively areas, so you would have to walk at least 10 minutes of narrow, not […] very clean, and mostly empty streets if you choose to dine out. The staff was quite helpful except for one occassion, when we wanted to dine in their restaurant on a Sunday night. The receptionist claimed that the restaurant was for breakfasts only (in contradiction to the hotel booklet in our room, the information given by another receptionist at our check-in, and our own experience two days prior, and the fact that the restaurant tables had wine glasses on them), and tried to convince us to have the dinner in our room, which would not be very convenient for this purpose. After 10 minuts of arguments, we were finally allowed to dine in the restaurant. Despite this, I would still recommend the hotel, as it was the only hiccup in the otherwise very good experience. Supremely comfortable, great location (nice and quiet but close to many cultural sights and entertainment) and interesting hotel as it was an old palace. Very nice touch with a complimentary mini bar. We didn't try the hotel restaurant but looked good. Would definitely recommend.

Newly renovated palacio was warm and welcoming with exceptional customer service. Rooms and bathrooms were spacious and extremely comfortable with lovely touches; free mini-bar, bottled water, robes and slippers. It was very enjoyable. The rooms are a little bigger than most European hotels. The staff was very accomidating. We asked them to arrange a bike tour that they had never arranged. We wanted to go within the hour. They pulled it all together and we had a great time.

Good hotel overall. Our biggest issue was AC that did not keep the room cool for full comfort. Also, there was a light that was out in the shower. For 5 star hotel would expect these issues to be resolved. The architecture was beautiful, the location was ok to the historic attractions. The staff at the hotel could not possibly be more helpful. Everything we asked for - directions, restaurant recommendations, firmer pillows - was dealt with rapidly. The hotel is amazing - decor, style, comfort all first class. The free minibar is a nice touch. My two suggestions: a) €20 per person for breakfast is too much to charge. We spent some time researching luxury hotels in Seville for our 7th anniversary holiday. Having decided upon the Palacio de Villapanes on the strength of the reviews we read, and images we saw we were not disappointed. Our Junior suite although facing the street was super quiet, and the bed super comfy. Although we had bad weather (rain every day!) […] for the entire duration of our stay and were therefore not able to sample the rooftop area and pool, we found the courtyards and libary romantic and chic places to sample the excellent cocktails on the extensive drinks menu. We had one evening meal in the hotel restaurant which was superb in terms of taste and service. The staff were all lovely, Having stayed in both old-school 5 star hotels (George V In Paris) and Boutique Hotels (The Delano in Miami ) We found the level of service here just right, It was unobtrusive but there when We needed it. The Cleanliness in the rooms should also be praised. The only things missing(which had they really bothered me I would have asked front desk to provide ) were a disposable shower cap in the bathroom, flannels and there were not enough hangers in the wardrobe-I feel very petty mentioning this but this is an honest review so I feel it only fair to give the minor negatives. We loved the area, it was no more than 10 mins walk away from anywhere, and near two of the best most authentic Tapas bars in the city,also the area was very pleasant to walk around Would we stay there again??? We were given a room on the ground floor next to the street. The room was nice, but the street noise would have been unbearable. Loud scooters raced up and down, and we could even hear the conversations of people passing right next to our window (the street is so narrow that pedestrians were inches from our room.) After worrying about the noise all […] day, I requested another room after we returned to the hotel for the evening. The evening staff was much nicer than the daytime staff, and gave us a room on the top floor for a considerable additional cost, but at a discount of what it regulary cost. We therefore got a good night's sleep our one night in Seville, but I would not recommend this hotel unless you either don't care about noise, or they will explain the differences between the ground floor rooms in front, which are awful and not worth it at any price, and the back rooms around the courtyard, which are quiet and nice and worth the upgrade. Also this hotel has "modern" bathrooms which I found to be terrible. The lighing was so bad it was impossible to apply makeup. These bathrooms must have been designed by men. I will never stay at an Almaseville property again for this reason. Bathrooms need strong, direct lighting, not dim overhead spotights which barely light up the space, let alone the mirrors and vanity. Läs mer

From the US, went with my girlfriend. When we pulled up I was a bit concerned, because it didn't look like much from outside. But as soon as we entered, I was impressed. This is a smaller boutique hotel with less than 50 rooms, renovated from an old estate. The room was fantastic, the food was incredible, and the location was about 10-15 minutes walking […] to the Seville University, Cathedral de Alcazar, and the Real Alcazar. Every thing about the stay was excellent except for the 100 degree heat, but that is hardly the hotel's fault. Fortunately the room was very modern as well, so keeping the room at a good temperature was no problem. Didn't have time to check out the Spa, so can't comment on that. Staff was incredibly helpful, even ordering handmade sangria at 2am and they make it happen. It felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves. Did I mention their sangria was fantastic? The hotel was fantastic the staff helpful & friendly. The rooms very spacious and modern. Free internet a +. I loved the iMac in the room as a standard feature. It was also very nice to have free soft drinks, bottled water, etc in room as well. The hotel was a pleasure to stay in and we would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is a gem. Located on a quiet side street, access to the major sites in Sevilla is an easy walk. From the Santa Justa train station, it is a cheap cab ride. The hotel was converted within the year from an old palace. It is what you see in the photographs. HUGE rooms, with very modern comforts and relaxing furniture. Everything about this hotel is beautiful - you feel like you're in the lap of luxury. The staff where extremely welcoming and helpful, and the space - a beautifully restored small palace - is gorgeous. The one issue arose when I requested an iron to be sent to my room. Every other hotel I stayed in Spain on my whole trip sent one to the room within […] 5 minutes, but here you have to hand over your clothes and have them ironed for you, for an outrageous fee, of course. We visited Seville for a four night break, the hotel was superb, impeccable service but not too stuffy which can be the problem with some five star hotels. We only ate in the hotel one evening (as there are so many good tapas and restaurants around) but the tapas set meal was excellent and very good value. Great hotel. Wonderful bed - you simply fall asleep and dont want to wake up. Food is excellent and staff too. Value for money - especially if you travel during the winter, off peak months. Now the bad points: my room had no heating and as it was cold the staff had to get me a heater. But given all the pluses I did not mind the trouble. Also my room […] did not have a desk so it was difficult to do work. As I came on business this was important to me - for vacationers this may not be a big deal. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and there was a free mini bar. The staff made it a 5 star experience as they were all so friendly and helpful. Only thing that was odd was there was nowhere to hang our towels! But they solved that by replacing them regularly. Great stay for those who want to stay somewhere special and modern

I recently stayed at the AlmaSevilla - Hotel Palacio de Villapanes on my honeymoon trip to Spain. This was our favorite hotel on our trip. The location was good, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and in great condition. There was one night where our bathroom acquired a sewer like smell, but unfortunately this is […] fairly common in old cities in Europe, so I can't exactly blame that all on the hotel. The open air design of the building itself gave the property a special charm that was very unique and reflective of the city it was located in. Hotel Palacio de Villapanes was amazing! The staff were friendly, accommodating and thoughtful. Not only is the hotel itself absolutely stunning, but the rooms and atmosphere were cozy, contemporary, unique and tasteful with a palace feel all at the same time. The staff were as pleasant as the rooms and accommodations. When we asked for local recommendations […] they did not give us big touristy spots. Their directions, recommendations and attitudes were lovely. Every time we came or left there was a smile on their face and as helpful as they could be. Every night around 9pm they deliver cookies and to see if you need anything. Every time we left the room we came home to a clean and fresh bed and trash cans. They also helped us check in a night early and leave our car outside for the hour we needed to get settled in our room. Switched our luggage to our new room the next day with no problem. By far my favorite hotel I've stayed at in Europe and I've stayed at a few. It is about a 10 minute walk outside of the city center, but it is not hard to get to and from as long as you have a good map. The streets of Sevilla can be confusing, but it's worth the 10 minutes. Absolutely beautiful hotel. Rooms were decorated in an old but new style. If the hotel was full, it would feel peaceful, It just had that kind of ambiance. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, so very helpful. Food was good if you choose to eat there. Cant fault it. This was supposed to be in top 25 hotels in Europe. Hotel was fine but location was extremely poor. We needed to ask several people for directions and no one knew where the street was, I would not recommend this hotel. Nice, but way overpriced.

We Loved this hotel! In a beautifully restored palace, out room floor plan was functional and lovely with high quality finishes, private terraces, terrific shower and cold air conditioning. The hotel was lovely, the staff were delightful and extremely helpful. One of us has serious medical problems requiring specific dietry requirements and they catered for us magnificently. A proper swimming pool at the hotel would definitely be an advantage especially when returning after walking many miles around the city.
