VI bodde på El Taj under fyra nätter i mitten på april, det var en klart rekommendabel upplevelse. VI bokade sent och fick ett bra priserbjudande på en rymlig svit med egen takterass, utmärkt om man ibland vill vara lite avskiljd. Ambitionen var hög på hotellet även om kvaliten var ojämn på servicen. Garage inkluderat var ett plus. Mycket spring dock i lägenheten på inkonsekventa tider kunde vara lite besvärligt.

Finns helt enkelt inget att anmärka på, de lever upp i alla avseenden till ett 5 stjärnigt hotel. Mkt bra resturanger oavsett vilken av de ca 10 man väljer, stort urval, bra kvalitet. Många lounger, barer etc - allt supertrendigt designat, rummen likaså. Fantastisk strand, mkt bra poolområden, underbar och serviceminded personal. Jag reser mkt både privat som i tjänst, detta slår det mesta i alla avseenden. Åkte med familjen, barn i ålder 2,13 - fanns att göra för alla inkl föräldrar. Olika aktiviteter varje dag för vuxna som barn, allt ifrån lära sig att göra sushi med hotellets kockar ( de har bl.a. en mkt bra sushi rest. på hotellet) till Scuba Diving med hotellets egen båt och instruktörer. Vi åkte över påsken och då var hotellet kanske belagt till 70%, de flesta amerikaner och sydeuropéer. Ändå fanns det gott om plats överallt - ingen trängsel någonstans, varken i resturanger eller på hotellets privata strand. Allt var perfekt, rekommenderar detta hotell till alla.

Vi bokade via hotels och enligt deras rumsinfo står det "Rummen har balkonger med utsikt över havet, stranden eller en pool" vilket inte alls stämmer, vi fick rum med utsikt över en bit gräsmatta och sen ett stängsel, pratade med receptionen om rummens utsikt som anges på hotels och dom såg frågande ut och sa att det finns inga rum med den utsikten, fanns mot pool men det var deras dyraste rum! både havet och stranden ligger en bit ifrån hotellet så! sen kan det tilläggas att män måste bära långbyxor vis samtliga restauranger även buffé restaurangen. Wifi i rummen kostar 20 dollar för 24 timmar, vet inte om de räknas inloggad tid eller dygns priser, du får bara 90min gratis wifi i lobbyn också! köra vattenskotrar var en flopp, får bara köra just utanför hotellet typ och det kostar mer än i Cancun, 55 dollar för 30 min

Playa del Carmen är tillräckligt litet för att kunna utforskas till fots, och atmosfären är avslappnad men ändå kosmopolitisk. Här finns ett stort utbud av hotell, affärer och restauranger i alla prisklasser. På stränderna är det inte ovanligt att man solar och badar topless. Playa del Carmen är en populär utgångspunkt för dagsturer till Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Tulum och andra sevärdheter runt halvön, och en passagerarfärja kör täta turer härifrån till Cozumel.

Vi hade 3rum i 14dagar då vi var 6personer som reste. Sängarna var breda och om man känner för att bo 4pers i 1rum fungerar det. Hotellet låg bra strategiskt till för utflykter, badstrand, shopping och nöjesliv. Gångavstånd till allt. Nära till Wal-Mart (typ ICA). Kan dock vara högljutt på nätterna från klubbar bland annat Coco Bongo då utelivet börjar […] sent och håller på till kl. 7-8 på morgonen. Hörselproppar rekommenderas. Bra fungerande AC, kylskåp på rummen. Frukosten på hotellet var i underklass och inte prisvärd, vi handlade och gjorde egen frukost. Middagarna åt vi oftast ute på restauranger med spartanska vita plaststolar där mycket mexicanare åt, det var de allra bästa ställena. Läs mer

Safe deposit boxen var trasig, vi fick erbjudande om att ha värdesakerna i hotellets kassaskåp men det var ett allmänt skåp så det ville vi inte. Efter lite tjat fick vi ett nytt. Något kylskåp fanns inte alls, efter ytterligare lite tjat fick vi ett. Rummet låg bredvid hotellets tvättstuga och tvättmaskinerna och torktumlare gick från tidiga morgonen […] till sena kvällen. Prisvärt hotell, skulle dock säga 3 stjärnigt. Negativt: De har en tendens att överboka hotellet så vi fick bo på ett närliggande syster hotell första natten då rum ej fanns. Märkte att andra gäster blev utsatta för samma behandling. Vi fick gratis frukost första natten som kompensation. Rummen är fina men något slitna, och städningen sker sent på […] dagen och det saknades handdukar flera gånger. Det är väldigt lyhört och ekar mycket i innergården in i rummen. Positivt: Bra läge till shopping, mataffärer och restauranger. Kort promenad till stranden och ifall man köpte dryck/mat för 100kr per dag fick man gratis strandstol på El Faro hotell (Systerhotell). Trots nära till uteställen, krogar m.m. så tyckte inte vi att det hördes in i rummen, vi kunde sova hela nätterna så länge som inte ljudet kom inifrån hotellet. Överlag så hade vi en trevlig semester och för det låga priset per natt vi betalade så var hotellet mycket prisvärt och motsvarade någorlunda våra förväntningar. Läs mer

Would not recommend even though the hotel has a good location. -It's noisy have hard beds and the wireless network doesn't work most of the time. Broken furniture don't get replaced. Cleaning very late at night or "on demand" since the hotel doesn't have enough personnel... No pool bar and no furniture on the roof terrace. Breakfast is toasts with jam, […] eggs and slices of ham and a sleeve of beans... Prefer to eat at Starbucks just one block towards the beach from this hotel or shop at Walmarts that is located 5 minutes walk in the opposite direction from the beach. Läs mer

We stayed three nights with two boys, 5 and 7 years old. Hotel has a good location and its cozy. Nice staff. One tip, avoid the breakfast at the hotels resturant, it was expensive and not very good. Walmart is only 5 mins away, we went there and bought breakfast.
"A very nice hotel"
We had a very nice couple of days at Hacienda Real. Everything was at least as nice as we expected except breakfast. Which was okay, not more not less. The included American Breakfast was the least good alternative on the menu. If we stay again, we'd skip the included breakfast and go for the omelettes or Hacienda Cakes instead.

We love this hotel, I would give it higher marks than most Hiltons and Westin's we have stayed in. Great pool, restaurant and luxurious rooms. Close to beach and shopping. We felt very safe and welcome! We booked extra nights because we didn't want to leave.

When we came we were taken to a room without balcony. We complained and finally got one with a balcony, but only a bit too small bed (instead of two)... And the (small) balcony had an 'open fence' and was facing a very noisy street and restaurant. And the door to the balcony was not tight, so the noise from the street was very disturbing. We had to […] buy 'ear-protection'. The air.conditioner was good. There was a safe, hair-dryer and a good TV. It took about 3-4 minutes before the hot-water appeared... There was no information in the room concerning times for meals or other services - or for use of the phone. Most of the hotel staff was friendly and smiling, the hotel is of good building quality, the pool in the beautiful yard is nice and the food was OK. New beach-towels every day we needed it and an access-card for the nearest beach, with service from Vicky beach-bar which had VERY good food and comfortable chairs! To get this access we had to buy food/beverages for at least 100 pesos pr. person. That's reasonable, we think. This beach is only two-three blocks away from the hotel, a nice walk to and fro. Very conveniently located, an easy walk to dining and shopping. Two short blocks to the beach and complimentary beach chairs at the beach was great. Small restaurant was good for convenient breakfast. Will likely stay again.
"Good thing my vaction was more about the excursion"
The serivce at this hotel was terrible. Any time you needed anything, the hotel had to call someone else to get it and it took forever to get it, IF you got it. We asked for towels twice and toilet paper once, we never got them. In fact when I needed bath towels because I had to use mine to clean the flood created from the drain in the floor in the […] bathroom (not the bathtub) they told me I had to wait for housekeeping to show up........as I stood there dripping with sweat from my morning run. I convinced them to give me beach towels. We asked for a drain plug so that I could take a bath........they couldn't find one. The battery died in the lock on one of our friend's rooms. It took forever for someone to get there to figure out what to do. When the hotel finally found the right person........they got into the room in 5 seconds through the window. So, I tried it on my room and got in through the window in 5 seconds! There is nothing that you can do to prevent this. Very unsafe and the hotel didn't seem to care when we expressed concern! The food was good and the hotel was pretty, but I don't think anything can make up for the lack of security since anyone can easily get in through your window at any time. Läs mer

We loved our room, the pool area, the delicious breakfast, and the ideal loation. It was difficult to leave! The only disappointment is that the front desk staff seemed unable to provide some basic tourist information and unwilling to seek answers to our questions. "Bad start"
I'm not sure why they did not have rooms for us saying that they were fixing the locks in the rooms despite having made the reservations months ahead. They tried to send us to another hotel of lesser quality in an area that was loud and only when we refused adamantly, did they finally give us rooms at the hotel. It was very upsetting since we had a […] baby and two elderly people with us. Once there, however, we had a great time at the hotel and the service was great. "Central location with good standard!"
We stayed here for 13 nights and we were very pleased. Great standard in the hotelroom, 3 minutes walk from the beach and away from all the noise on 5.th Ave. 10. th Ave is both cheaper and less noisy. 2 huge beds and seperate bathroom and shower! Balcony with view against the street or pool. We recommend this hotell for everyone!

Can't argue with the location of the hotel, just one block away from all the 5th Avenue buzz, one block from Coco Bongo (nightclub) and with Oxxo nearby (mini-market). That would make a perfect choice if it wasn't for the cleaning less of the room. Great location, nice decor, nice staff, very nice and inexpensive restaurant and bar( ask for the mango margaritas! and breakfast buffet was $11 usd for 2 with coffee and orange juice...very good). stayed 3 nights in this hotel. 5 minutes walk to a nice beach, and 2 minutes walk to 5th ave. the hotel is beautifull, check your room before you agree. we had to change 3 rooms before deciding.rooms are larger on the 1st floor. check in can be slow due to understaffed. if you get a room with balcony on the street, expect a late night noise the hotel […] is next to bars and restaurant. towels are old and no facial towel avaliable. nice pool, above all if you just need the room to sleep and spend the day at the beach and walking then this is perfect. The hotel is very nice. Beautiful courtyard, lobby and rooms. We booked 2 rooms asking for not groundfloor and a courtyard view. We got 1 courtyard view on the 1st floor and 1 room on the second floor alittle tucked away from the courtyard. We were staying 2 nights and thought the rooms would be fine.The first problem was the beds were hard. Second […] problem was the room on the 2nd floor at night. We could not sleep the bar across the street was so loud. We also asked for the information on the in room safe & never got it. We were told to get beach towels at the front desk and never got towels. The front desk employees just ignored us. If you don't mind firm beds and you can get a room off the street. +++ Beautiful room, nice pool, convenient location good price friendly staff, to improve: Correct the moldy smell in the room when we arrived (most likely due to poor air changing rate) and sound proofing of the suite door. If corrected could stay for extended period, otherwise one night or two max for us.

"Dirty Room"
I got to the hotel at 11am and they gave me a room that had just been vacated by a guest. It was dirty, beds unmade. They told me they will have the room ready in 30 minutes. I returned 30 minutes later and they beds were made, but the sheets were the same because they were wrinkled and slept in. Room was not properly cleaned.

Very good hotel with friendly stuff. One side of hotel has neighbour building with bar inside so you listen a GREAT music from this bar till midnight. For us it wasn't problem but I suppose it is not suitable for travelers with children and aged people. If you're young and come to Playa del carmen for fun this hotel is your place 100%. Highly recommended, would stay here again. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, prompt with requests. The pool is large, clean, good temperature. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They told me where the best places I can eat economically and deliciously. They are also very eager to teach me Spanish : ) The room is very comfortable and clean. I will highly recommend to anyone who would like to stay there.

We stayed at The Hacienda the last week of August. The hotel is very pretty, and centrally located. Unfortunately that means you will not get much peace nor quite. Our room was located in the corner right next to the cleaning supply closet, so by about 9 am you could hear noise outside the door. The hotel is in an ideal location, close to the beach restaurants, clubs and supermarkets without the noise or the hassle of having to walk past people trying to sell you things all the time. Maybe because it's mid-August and not high season, but we did not get any noise problems from the street like the other reviews. We stayed both on the 3rd floor with balcony view facing the street and also without any balcony view. The hotel staff was very nice, they spoke good enough english.
