The rooms were big, we got 2 bedrooms and a small kitchen. The location felt a little bit "off" and it was a little hard to find the hotell. We couldn't do an early check in but other than that it was good. Free parking outside the hotell.

The suite has 2-bedroom each with a double bed and a TV. It is clean and spacious. If you are not looking for a luxury hotel, this is a perfect place to stay for a few days. Rate is low and breakfast is provided. I was very impressed.

Most everything was just fine. Excepeions: (1) One elevator was out of service. (2) Ice machine was out of service. (3) Shower faucet was almost impossible to read/see the arrow indicating direction to turn for hot or cold. It appeared as though the handle was installed upside down. I was in Ottawa touring the nearby University of Ottawa just a couple of days. The residence at Saint Paul was clean and efficient, and our room exceeded our expectations. The wi-fi is available only in lobbly and 4th floor. So you cannot use internet from your room! I think they have to mention it in the hotel description. Otherwise it's a very nice, clean place form the money you pay.

Simple but a great bang for your buck. I will definitely stay here again. No why Wi-fi but for that price it is well worth connecting via ethernet cable.

This was a very unexpected surprise...........Ottawa's best kept secret, as I had never heard about this before. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, and also very knowledgeable. Will definitely use it again and also recommend it to others!!! Only one problem I found the beds to be too soft!!

Overall, the room was in fairly good condition. There were a few scrapes on the wall, and the TVs are of the old tube variety -- not that you'll have any spare time to watch given the number of sights to take in in Ottawa. The rooms were fairly clean. I did spot a couple spots of dust on light switches and on the bathroom exhaust fan. Nothing to be […] concerned about though. The hotel does indeed have wifi, but it doesn't cover every room. That said, there IS wired internet which is useful if you have a laptop with you or carry around a wireless access point. The front desk will happily provide you with ethernet cables upon request. The only real disappointment with our stay was the quality of the breakfast. It's pretty bad. Honestly, we ended up skipping it after the first day. The coffee is watered down, the bagels are doughy, the bread is institutional white fluff, and the rest way too sugary. Suggestions for improvement on that front: 1. Find a new supplier for your coffee and breads. 2. Consider incorporating fresh fruit, deli meats, and cheeses to your selection. Some salmon and swiss would have really perked up those bagels, for example. Overall, we had a good stay and would come back. The value for dollar is excellent. This is my second time staying at this location and I am very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and how they go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable, the cleanliness of the hotel, not to mention the great location which is within walking downtown. You cannot beat this price for what you get.

Convenient for our purposes. Just a clean and quiet room for a one night stay. The parking became an issue for us but we squeezed in to a spot that was really not for parking. We worried a bit that we might get a ticket. It was a cold a rainy night and we didn't want to park at a distance from the hotel.

Brought my wife and 2 teenagers and we had a great time. My daughter asked if we could stay there again next time in Ottawa. Staff were friendly and professional. Our A/C was not working so we were lent a hotel fan, and we had also brought our own fan after reading past reviews. Overall I would say the residence is a great value. I was not expecting luxury and was not disappointed. It has no real decor it is a college residence but you get two separate bedrooms and shared kitchen and bath. A family with two kids would be fairly comforatble here. The breakfast was a great start to each and every day of our visit to Ottawa. We […] did walk the first three days and you could get to the major sites in 45 minutes on foot. After three days we were relieved to pick up our rental car and explore other areas in and around the city. Parking is free and the neighbourhood seemed quite safe. If you want a cheap, clean, central base for your visit this should fit your needs. It is probably 3-4 kms from the Parliament Hill, Byward Market and the National Gallery. Fairly quiet and safe neighbourhood. #5 bus goes to the downtown areas or about a $10-$12 cab ride. Not much for restaurants close by except for takeout pizza or great greek takeout and delivery on Hawthorne. Also a small vegetarian place across the street but we did not try it. The TVs were not great but who watches TV on vacation. Wireless is available in lobby and our room on the 5th floor had some coverage but I think this is hit or miss on different floors. Läs mer

We had a pleasant stay. Neighborhood was quiet. Basic but adequate breakfast. Wonderful 2 bedrm suite. Had difficulty locating the residence on the campus. Would definitely look to return.

Perfect location within walking distance to downtown (along beautiful Rideau Canal). Great value for staying in Ottawa, staff was friendly and very helpful, continental breakfast is included in the rate and was a great way to start the day. Room was clean, and had everything I needed.
