Tyckte det var riktigt bra. Fint område med goda förbindelser. Tio minuter promenad och tio minuter tunnelbana så är man på 42:à gatan

Mycket nöjd. Snygg inredning och rent. Inga vägglöss :-) Väldigt bra och trevligt läge nära tunnelbanestationer och någon minuts promenad till central park. Mycket sköna sängar och kuddar. Personalen var mycket glad och hjälpsam och gav oss gärna tips och information om stan vid fråga. Vi förstod oss först inte på varmvattnet, men det visade sig att det måste saknas cirkulation i ledningarna så vi fick spola ett tag - sedan kom värmen.

Our rooftop bar, Jimmy, is a contemporary interpretation of a classic pub with a 1970’s New York twist. Elements like herringbone floors, a leather trimmed solid wood bar top, brick glazed tile walls, rich blue upholstery and working fireplaces come together to create a sense of warmth. A year-round destination, Jimmy opens into the rooftop pool deck during the warmer months. But whether indoors or out, Jimmy guests are treated to one of the most spectacular views in New York City: a river-to-river vista looking over Midtown, Wall Street, the Brooklyn Bridge and beyond.
Guests can order from our classically inspired cocktail menu with ingredients including syrups, bitters and juices prepared in-house from herbs in our Chef’s Garden.

"Perfekt för långtweekend"
Ligger i väldigt bra till men mycket bra mat bara runt hörnet. Trevliga gallerier och mycket bra shopping. Hotellt var perfekt, i alla avseende. Återkommer gärna
Mycket fräscht hotell mitt i Soho nära till massa butiker, restauranger, t-banestation m.m Fint rum och trevlig personal, härligt med takterass och pool. De enda invändingarna är väl att vi inte tyckte utsikten var så kul från vårt rum på 8e våningen norrut mot ett slitet gammalt hus och att poolen/terassen var i minsta laget och ganska fullt på dagen. Det var fantastiskt, rakt igenom. Om ni är sugna på en hotellvistelse utöver det vanliga och att bo i mysiga kvarter en bit bort från hysterin runt Times Square så ska ni bo på The James. "the James i New York - en juvel"
Fantastiskt hotell i NY med mycket bra läge. Vi bodde på 14 våningen med underbar vy över taken i Soho. Super läge, massor med caféer, barer, restauranger, shopping och gallerier. De anställda oerhört serviceminded. Rekommenderas varmt!!

För vår fjärde NY semester valde via att bo i SOHO för att få närheten till shopping och restaurangerna i Greenwich village och Meat Packing district. Hotellets läge var helt perfekt och vi var jätte nöjda med servicen och hotellet i övrigt, de var väldigt hjälpsamma och frukosten i rummet som ingick var helt okay! The James is a very very nice hotel! We stayed 4 nights in a larger Studio and it was perfect for a couple! Nice view of the Skyline & Tibecca! "Never again!"
Terrible. Downgraded my room from a king suite to a queen standard without telling me. Like I wouldnt notice... When confronted they said they had no others. Jimmy is a dreadful bar with affected staff that seem to forget they work in a bar. Save yourself the trouble and stay at the Standard!

1st they were late checking us in eventhough we arrived at the hotel at 4:30/5pm - so they made us wait to get our room we asked for any kind of replacement for breakfast since we were not eager to have fries and bacon and greasy eggs and bread in the morning... saying that we would be content even with a yogurt and box of cereal... but NO the manager […] would not offer any replacement... eventhough it would have been cheaper for him too!! they also delivered our breakfast late outside our door a garbage food bag from mc donald's (from our neighboor's room accross the hall) stayed there rotting from 8pm in the evening until 3pm the next day... very disappointing when you spend so much for a night!! "If service is what you want - this place has it."
The people here make the stay from good to extraordinary. Really. I read the reviews and didn't understand until I went. They leave the Trump SoHo and the Essex House (the other hotels I visit) in the DUST. Really. Yu have to experience it to believe it - you will not regret it.

"The James Hotel - baby friendly on edge of Soho"
Spent a few nights at the James in March 2012. Great location, just on the edge of Soho and an easy walk to China Town, Little Italy, the Village etc. Hotel staff generally very nice - great with the baby. Door men and driver Rick are fantastic - incredibly helpful. A few minor issues with "Guest Services" - some messages seem to be taken, but not […] actioned. In fairness they were incredibly helpful in helping us plan our visit in advance, organising restaurant bookings at family-friendly times, organising babysitters when required etc. Room not quite as clean as it might have been, but a good size for New York, well appointed and with good views. Any issues we had were pretty minor to be honest, and more than made up for by the general friendliness of the staff and great location. Definitely works for people with young families - so much nicer to walk out into Soho area than into the madness of Midtown! Läs mer

Extremely friendly, helpful, and guest centric staff. I believe this is the best hotel I've stayed in NYC, and have been to my fair share of hotels here. Technology up to date, the rooms have the best wireless Wi-fi, the best mini bar you can find in a hotel in NYC, and loved that the doors wirelessly let me in. Unlike some hotels that provide tiny […] soaps and shampoos, they provide a full bottle with a pump. The shower worked great, and the room decoration was beautiful. Customer service at this elegant hotel was amazing. From the time I entered the door to check in. The staff was outstanding. The only complaint was the early morning front desk staff was not as helpful but the rest of the staff made the James my new hotel of preference.

Great hotel. VERY friendly and helpful staff. I really liked the location on the southwest edge of Soho. Easy walk to the Village and other great neighborhoods. I booked the corner king and had awesome unobstructed views to east and south from the 14th floor. Highly recommended!
"Relaxation and Restaurant'ing at the James"
Cool hotel with great staff. The room was really cozy and the views of NYC were hard to beat. Amazing location in Soho, too, near a lot of great restaurants (we ate at the Dutch and it was fantastic). David Burke kitchen was nice for brunch in the morning too.

"The James Hotel- Beautifully Done!"
Quite, Contemporary yet VERY Comfortable and Well Appointed. Walking distance to everything in Tribecca to one direction and Soho and the LES in the other. A quck cab ride up 6th Ave to additional world class shopping on 5th or Madison Ave. My new address when traveling to New York City.

Staff was great, hotel is nice size, clean, good restaurant and bar. Within walking distance to everything in SOHO and an easy jog over to the W Side Highway multi-purpose jogging, biking, walking path. Will return.

The hotel room is very nice, and the staff is super friendly... even though it is definitely at the higher end of the price range, it was worth it. The hotel has complimentary snacks in the lobby, and chocolate at night, and that is a very sweet perk of staying at the James hotel . I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again

Nice hotel. Modern rooms are very clean and well set out. the staff are helpful and the location in Soho is wonderful. everything is at your fingertips. The hotel offers free coffee and pastries in the morning, wine and cheese in the evenings and cookies at night but the supplies sometimes ran out before the people did.

The front desk was very helpful. She recommended Rubirosa - an Italian restaurant on Mulberry. It was delicious. The hotel is in a great location. Lots of activity nearby. The rooftop bar has great views. And the corner king was an awesome room. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

"Cracking hotel"
A cool hotel just off the main grid of Soho. Friendly staff and decent size room (for NY). Have stayed there once before and will continue staying there when I visit NYC.

The only drawback was the size of the room. We had a lot of luggage because we had been travelling for nearly 3 months. One night was manageable, but any longer a bit more space to spread out would have been good.
"Staff the jewel of the hotel"
Without the gracious conduct of the staff this is an average and overpriced hotel. However, the staff, whether delivering room service, hailing a cab or cleaning the gym were extraordinarily friendly and helpful.

The service stands out to me at the James, they are very helpful and engaged with their guests and made me feel like they were sincere. I would like to see the breakfast restaurant open earlier than 7am but they do have pastries and coffee in the lobby. The roof-top patio is great!

Loved this place. I love staying in really nice hotels, but I hate it when they are stuff. The James has everything and more would expect from a hotel of this caliber without all the stuffiness. I'll definitely be back.

Great location. A nice (maybe too long for some) walk to Little Italy, ground zero, and the Statton Island Ferry (no cost) past the Statue of Liberty. Th roof top pool and bar were very nice, albeit expensive. Staff was friendly and the bartender was great.
LOVED the hotel and the staff was amazing!! Food incredible although service at the Garden was really slow and unorganized. Everyone was more than helpful from the concierge to the manager to cleaning staff. Only one problem my ipad was stolen out of my car at check in when I used valet. It was never recovered. Overall a fantastic hotel and great location close to tube/subway and really professional staff and clean above beyond expectation of hotel comfort. Only few things small pool then anticipated; still I think as they are new to the hotel business working on their staff to make appointments and reservations but they are so friendly and kind. Great computer […] office needs met and super great room and washroom. Love their products Harmonic as well. I would highly recommend this hotel! Lastly I was terribly sick coming into NY and the staff and Manager still tried to give me a credit despite booking through third party so long as I had dates in the end made it in and because of this service ended up staying an extra night with them.
