awoke in the middle of the night due to a maintenance issue that I believe the hotel staff was aware of, but perhaps had overbooked the rooms and put us up in less that acceptable accommodations. After 29 hours of travel, just wanted to sleep and was unable to do this - to compensate, we were refunded the price of our room and provided an excellent […] top quality meal. Their restaurant is fabulous and service impecable, so hard to find anywhere in the world today. The hotel staff did their best to fix the problem once it became known and attempted to placate us. The apartment was spacious, clean, breezy. The view from the balcony of the lake and the mountains was beautiful. It was not in the city center . We had to walk 5 minutes to take the tiny train into town, which was fine, but if you want to be in the center of town, go somewhere else. The hotel had a small jacuzzi and a pool. Great to relax in. Buffet […] breakfast was an extra 15CHF per person: cold meats and cheeses, bread, apple cake, cereals. On the first day the bread and cake were fresh, on the second day, you could tell it was the bread and cake from the day before. They have a menu for the day which was good and reasonable for 25 CHF. Personnel was kind, helpful. The apartment was obviously one for elderly residents (hand rail in the shower, on the wall beside the toilet) which had been transformed into a hotel room, which is fine, just an FYI. Beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean but some things were obviously old: a corner of a stool that was touched up with white paint, 3 small holes on the bathroom floor that were neatly plugged, the decorative metal covering on the closet keyhole hung by a screw. Hotel Cavour is location is great. It is close to all the great shops and the Uffizi. The room is on par for this type of price. Only one word of caution when you go is DO NOT USE the complimentary computer service. We used it on a Saturday morning and immediately after that, we started seeing that someone hijacked our email account and is sending spam […] ads for fake Rolex watches. So whatever you do, don't use the computers in their hotel. I think the management should know about this. All the great experience we had at the hotel, we were disappointed that something like this could happen to us. We surely won't use free wi fi in Italy again. Läs mer

Our room was a fantastic one bedroom suite, with large balcony and a great view of the park, the lake and surrounding hills. The hallways in the building we stayed in were dirty, but getting past that, our room was clean and modern. The Maraini "resort" is really a complex of many different, mostly medical related business and a retirement residence […] of sorts, but don't let that put you off of staying here! The location is less than a 5 minute walk from the central train station. There is a funicular at the train station that runs every 5 minutes and takes you into the downtown/old town part of Lugano. Very good value for money, but nothing for party people. We enjoyed the friendly stuff, the HUGE room (more like an apartment) and the nice view into the park. Only 7 minutes walking distance from the station. But watch out: google maps might show the wrong location. I had the impression that this is a residency for elderly people (as the name already […] implies) and they rent the unused apartments as hotel rooms. But that did not disturb us at all: Full equipped kitchen, a nice living room plus a big balcony for the price of a regular hotel room. What can you say... I definitely recommend the place Läs mer

I was very happy with my stay in the hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. My only complaint was finding the hotel. The hotel seems to be part of a complex of apartments. The signage outside is not clear on how to enter the complex and thus we struggled for quite some time to access the complex.

Hotel was a short very uphill walk from Lugano. It was quiet, and gave us plenty of space (the room was actually a one bedroom apartment). But the hotel is actually part of a retirement / rehabilitation village. There were old folks and wheel chairs everywhere! Not exactly the romantic Lugano visit we'd planned. Breakfast wasn't particularly good (stale […] bread) but good coffee. An economical option for staying in Lugano, but plan on sleeping here, not hanging out here. the maraini hotel is set in a park above the city center. It is simple to get into the city center , walk 5 mins to the central railway station and take the Fernicular train into the center , it takes 5 mins. Apartment has two large rooms plus kitchen and bathroom. Plenty of space and our room had a good view of the lake. Breakfast was included . This appartment was excellent value for money. It is an appartment rather than a hotel room, so the marketing pictures actually do no lie or deceive in anyway. The staff were friendly and the apartment was spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was continental buffet, but the service was excellent with tea or coffee topped up. About a 10 minute walk […] from Lugano station. Lugano itself was beautiful, although be prepared for mediteranean rather than Switzerland in atmosphere. Everyone speaks Italian (and really no English outside of the hotel). But, be prepared, IT IS BLOODY EXPENSIVE at the moment for Brits going over to Switz. A Couple of Starbucks will set you back around £12, a Mc meal around £12 and a basic sandwich from anywhere around £4. Also, buy a Swiss pass on arrival, and you get all internal travel for free, as well as free pass on boat trips and many other rides. Läs mer

the only problem was from you the hotel name is "Parco Maraini Lugano" not "Maraini Resort" and I can't call them from my local number from my Country last thing you can't get your key if you came after 10.00 PM you have to wait till 7,30 AM not from the next building Best Regards

Die Ausstattung und Sauberkeit des Zimmers war ordentlich und verfügte über eine angenehme Grösse. Ruhige Lage, Balkon mit toller Sicht auf den San Salvatore und Luganersee.

Die Nähe zum Stadtzentrum und Bahnhof ist ideal, sowie bieten sich die Apartments gut an, sich selber zu verpflegen, bzw. Nahrungsmittel im grossen Kühlschrank zu lagern. Speziell ist die Lage im Areal der Altersresidenz, was für Verwirrung sorgen kann, sowie ist die Rezeption abends nur bis 8pm (am Sonntag sogar nur bis 6pm) geöffnet. (!) Un des rares hôtels sur Lugano où il est possible d'avoir un appartement avec cuisine complètement équipée (y.c. lave-vaisselle) ; idéal pour les séjours familiaux avec de jeunes enfants. Certaines chambres offrent une belle vue sur la ville et la baie de Lugano. Beau parc arborisé dans l'enceinte de l'hôtel. Je conseille vraiment! Bien situé, 10 min à pied du centre. Je me suis vite senti comme à la maison.Un studio spacieux, moderne. Pour bien commencer la journée, une piscine.Moi qui donne beaucoup d importance à la propreté, j ai été satisfait. Le personnel est très disponible. L ambiance est chaleureuse. Meine Tochter und ich verbrachten 3 wunderbare Tage in Lugano. Das Hotezimmer war wie eine kleine Wohnung mit fantastischer See- und Bergsicht. Zu bemängeln wäre vielleicht das Frühstück. Es hatte kein dunkles Brot und zuwenig frische Ware. Sonst war das Buffet ok.Wir fühlten uns wohl und werden es gerne weiterempfehlen.

L'hotel est relativement bien situé, le tapis est vraiment vieux par contre la chambre qu'on a reçu etait tres propre et tres espacieuse.

Das Hotel ist sehr zentral und in einem wunderschönen Park gelegen. Ist eher was für ältere Leute, was man unschwer an den Rollators erkennen konnte. Sehr grosses Zimmer, nur die Einrichtung ist veraltet. Frühstück etwas dürftig.

Die gebuchte Ferienwohnung lag sehr zentral am Hauptbahnhof, nur 4min zu Fuss enfernt. Die Aussicht auf die Berge und den See war phantastisch. Den Pool haben wir nie besucht. Der Fahrstuhl war bei unserer Ankunft leider ausser Betrieb und die Wohnung im 4. Stock... Die hauseigene Tiefgarage empfiehlt sich auf jeden Fall, öffentliche Parkplätze gibt […] es eher wenige in der Umgebung. Wir können dieses Angebot zu 100% weiterempfehlen. Läs mer

Nähe Bahnhof und Lugano-City. Studios in einer schönen und ruhigen Parkanlage gelgen. Renovierte und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtete Studios. Bescheidenes Frühtstückangebot aber ok. Top, liegt ca. 8 Minuten vom Zentrum entfernt, leicht erhöht, super Aussicht auf See, ruhiger Park, sehr grosse Zimmer (ähnlich 2.5 Zimmer-Wohnungen), sicher auch ideal für längere Aufenthalte, Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut, freundlicher Empfang und Bedienung, zum Weiterempfehlen!
