Grünerløkka var tidigare ett arbetarområde, i dag är det Oslos mest mångfasetterade bohemkvarter. Thorvald Meyers Gate och Markveien är kantad med fingertoppskänsliga affärer och mysiga barer. Ortsbefolkningen kommer hit för att leta efter ovanliga fynd eller för att flanera i Sofienbergparken.

1. Vi fick stå och vänta c:a 30 min innan vi fick nycklar till våra lägenheter. Det fanns uppenbarligen för få personer på plats som kunde ta hand om hotellets gäster. 2. De lägenheter som vi fick överensstämde inte med våra beställningar. Visserligen fick vi det antal sängar som vi hade beställt, men vi hade behövt få veta i förväg att hotellet inte […] kunde erbjuda de lägenhetstyper som vi hade beställt. Med tanke på småbarn som inte kunde lämnas ensamma blev det nu krångligt för oss på kvällarna. 3. Lägenheternas utrustning var delvis mycket dålig. T ex fanns bara en djup tallrik och bara en stol (som var trasig och inte kunde användas) i en av lägenheterna. "Oseriöst och billigt."
När vi anlände visade det sig att man var tvungen att ringa för att få checka in. Väldigt omstädigt. 2 män anlände som var otroligt dåliga på både norska och engelska påstod att vi inte betalt vårat rum/att pengarna inte dragits från mitt kort. Så det tvingade oss att betala igen, För att en stund senare "komma på" att vi visst hade betalat. Pengarna […] kunde inte fås tillbaka på kontot, vi fick istället kontanter, som vi inte ville ha. Rummet i sig inrett billigt, med bl.a. två sängar som stod ihop med enbart ett madrasskydd(badlakansmaterial) alltså varken riktigt lakan eller bäddmadrass. "Frihet i centrala Oslo"
Lägenhetshotell med mycket rymliga och välutrustade lägenheter. Kyl, frys, diskmaskin, spis, ugn, skåp, kaffe- och vattenkokare, porslin, bestick m.m. Allt av modernt snitt. Negativt var den dåliga avrinningen på golvet i badrummet/duschen, där hela golvet snabbt vattenfylldes. Trevligt lägenhetshotell! Rymligt, fräscht men lite kalt. Omgivningen kändes otrygg på kvällen men bra på dagen. Spisfläkten fumgerade inte - larmet gick i hela huset när vi stekte bacon. "Weekend in Oslo"

"Busy and untidy kitchen"

This apartment was great, absolutely perfect as a base for staying in Oslo. But the check in procedure is THE WORST I have ever experienced. It was good: location close to city center, big apartment (we were taken room for two) with all needed kitchen equipment. "Functional but perfect for my requirements"
The room was fine for me as I was travelling alone, it had convenience stores very close and restaurants if I didn't feel like cooking. "15 mins walking distance from the Central Station"
There isn't any reception so you will need to call the hotel when you reach the front door and they will send someone over to open the door and bring you to the apartment. The location is good as you can just walk to most of the attractions like the Opera House, Akershus Castle, Natural History Museum. Gruner did provide a list of useful information […] which we find it helpful to search for the supermarket. Having a kitchen was a lifesaver for a couple of budget travelers like us. The only issue we had with this apartment was attempting to call the the hotel to get keys: I either kept entering the number wrong or did not understand the options given to me. Thankfully another couple was also waiting and were able to get through (after some more difficulty). There was construction between buildings. Really not the set-up for an apartment...not enough towels, etc. NOT a hotel at all...do not expect hotel service, not assistance in getting around the area. "Perfect Holiday Getaway"
Several reviews I read said the managers were hard to get in touch with, but once we dialed the correct number (drop the area code EVEN with a foreign cell phone), we got through on the second try. The hotel is on a fairly bustling street, with a tram, restaurants, and other points of interest very close by. We walked from the Central Station to the […] apartment in 15-20 minutes without a problem. The hotel room was very clean and open, with a large bed, nice kitchen area, dining room table, fridge, closet, and bathroom. It was quaint but still had everything you would need for a few days to a week stay. Though the tram is right outside the window (it may be fairly noisy to some), we didn't mind it and got use to it after the first two trains! The TV was a nice, new flat screen with English and Norwegian channels. There is a lift/elevator too. "Easy to get to, walkable from Bus station"
Overall a pretty great deal. We booked a couple months in advance, and we only needed one bed (for two people) but we ended up getting two bedrooms each with a double bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with what you need if you would like to cook. The common room is nice and spacious (almost too spacious), the views were nice, the bedrooms and bathroom […] was manageable and yes, pretty clean. The only negative was that we needed to call the place before we could enter (the front door is locked) and since neither of us had a phone we could use, we had to go across the street and ask for a phone (the place charged us 10NOK for the call). Close to buses to get you around quickly. Place was clean and ready for us. The only problem we had was that our first night the oven was full of oil and it set off the smoke detector when we turned it on,it was after hours and someone came quickly to check it out. "Nice flat in good location"
Very good location with nice restaurants and bars on neighbouring streets. Two supermarkets nearby. The flat was very comfortable and clean, and the receptionist was helpful and friendly. I enjoyed staying at Gruner Apartments. It was very clean, comfortable and very convenient for business purposes--the 17 tram takes you to the centre in just a few minutes. The area round about might not be the smartest end of town, but felt safe and interesting to walk around. The internet access was next to non existing (was supposed to be included for free in the room price). We liked the apartment; quiet spacious, Big TV and basic stuff. We needed an iron, so we asked for it and got it. Maybe we could have also asked for a hairdryer which was not in the room. We found quite some Halal shops around which was very good for us. Also supermarkets were close by. The only problem was that there was no reception in place and […] we had to call to get the keys (or any other issue). Very well appointed hotel but in a less than salubrious area. We used the lcoal spermarket for frozen pizza rather than venture out to any of the local "restaurants" which neither appealed nor looked particularly safe, being frequented by some less than desirable people, You need to call a local number (that is international to we travellers) to get […] your key, but this was delivered withing 1 minute, so well done there. And the room was WAY WAY too hot !!! This prevented a decent night's sleep. But the room was very clean and nicely appointed.
