Hotell Awana Hotel - Gentings högland

My retired parents stayed here for the first time in several years. It is still exactly the same with one or two touch-ups here and there but the overall feeling is one of 'could be better' Still it is reasonably priced and just an hour out of KL provides a refreshing break. The one major quibble is with the buffet - on the first evening of my parents […] stay, there was a large group from a company staying there - 600! - and by 8pm the buffet was decimated! My parents took one look and walked out. One additional point is the renovation of the pool. Needless to say we understand why the hotel wouldn't publicise it, but it is annoying to find drilling and what not going on when one of the main points to the Awana is to get away from the noise of KL. The biggest problem with this hotel is that every member of the staff seems to hate their job. Secondly the hotel is pretty run down and should really consider either a renovation or tariff reduction. Breakfast is pathetic. It costs a bomb to get here from the airport if one was to take a taxi. Older hotel that had very hard beds. The rooms were large and the breakfast buffet was huge with many selections. The shower was in accessible to my mother...it was too high up.

One area of improvement would be the buffet breakfast spread, not value for money in choice and presentation. Food are also not replenish in time, leaving many containers empty/without food during peak period. Buns and mini cakes/local kuih are also very basic in its selection and presentation for the price of the buffet and also for a resort of this […] status. The service at reception was very poor indeed. The gentleman who served us was untidy,non iron clothes and very stubborn in his directions to a poorly sign posted room. In fact if I was the manager I would not have him in my employ. I believe that the front person should be alert and be helpful as first impression is a lasting impression. Location is awesome, value for money. Swimming pool is very dirty, rooms are not cleaned properly. Shuttle service to First world park should be more frequent.

The room was on the second lowest level. The level was extremely moist and had that damp musty smell. Bed was hard, and room was dated ie 1970's. Other people that came in later were put in the tower which had drier rooms and no smell, and the room was updated. Breakfast Buffet was good, but it should open earlier. nice location .Quite .free shuttle to and from GINTING HIGHLANDS every hour .Also free shuttle to the telfrake every half hour . But... the wi fi is expinsnve which cost 10 RM each hour .

This place would have been quite grand when it was built, but not much has been done to it since. The location is still great and the surrounding golf course and greenry makes it a relaxing alternative to the hustle and bustle of the parks and casinos. We spent 2 nights in the suite which was ok - not more and not less. We asked to have the view over […] the golf course as suggested in previous reviews and thats spot on. The rooms are pretty clean, just outdated. To get to the room you walk through passenges with cable shafts and pipes running along the walls which was quite disappointing. Breakfast is pretty standard and the open balcony of the restaurant makes it quite pleasant. There are plenty of facilities to keep busy (big swimming pool, table tennis, squash, etc) So overall, its nothing outstanding, but it is....ok. Läs mer

Great view. Very green and nice to take a walk in. But the rooms and the sheets are dusty. the condo is large and spacious. Overall, good place to holiday with family if you are willing to put up with the dusty beds and couch.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and all the common areas are very good for a family vacation. Lots of activities arranged by hotel itself. However I was disappointed with the room itself, we stayed in the condo and the room is like one in the 80's, the carpets are worn out, flush don't work well etc. the corridors were creaking and smelly. The […] staff were not interested in providing information about what activities were available in the hotel, they refused to take my child for abseiling because they need 5 people to conduct one, where am I going to get another 4 ! Let's face it, this is an older hotel that was built probably in the 80ties when Genting was on the hype. In that regards look the rooms, hotel and restaurants. We booked this hotel, because all on the hill iteself were booked up. I don't think though that these are better, they all look the same. If you play golf and want to be away from the crowd, […] go to Awana. The hourly shuttle bus goes up to the casino and a hourly schedule goes to the skyway which is a scenic way to get to the mountain top. We tried some of the a la card food which was a quite pleasant surprise. Go there if you need to stay in Genting, not for the hotel itself. Läs mer

This is not the first time i stay at Awana. Overall i think the hotel is average for the amount of money spent. But this time round the hotel didn't provide the complimentary round-trip skyway tickets to Genting top. Also I find that the room is a bit dusty. Overall, it's a value-for-money hotel.

We had excellent time at Awana. Complimentary services including Cable car rides to the Genting theme park, Wifi, Cleanliness, Quality of food and services - everything Excellent.

The rooms are quite average, we were told that all rooms have 2 queen beds and there were no rooms with 1 king bed. The cleanliness of the rooms was not upto the mark ... same case with the bathroom. The shuttle service is good, the food, the porter/luggage service & the view is also good. Not a bad stay, but not too great either !

If you are on a Holiday and want to relax after a hectic day at theme parks then it is the place to stay. Also the hotel provides free transfers to and fro. Passes to ROPEWAY (must do) are also provided FREE ! Overall highly recommended.

This is the worst 5 star or 4 star place ive ever been to. my partner made the booking and let me tell u folks it is atrocious!! Where do i start?? 1. The sealant in the bathroom was put on by someone whos never done handyman work in their life, cracked, brittle, uneven, spilling over onto benchtop 2. cockroaches 3. the mirror in my lounge was cracked […] about 4 feet and they used STICKY TAPE!! yes thats right to hold it together 4. the hallways smelt of seaweed, air conditioning filters hadnt been cleant 5. staff are the laziest ive ever seen. asked reception if i could use the business centre and they replied with :oh no sir i dont want to wake the person up whos in there!!" sleeping on the job? sure the boss would love that one! paid to sleep = my kinda job! 6. live entertainment was a goldfish/singer at the bar and i was the only patron there, obviously a well renowned venue.....Not!! 7. the doors had dried paint dripping down them 8. shower door had the seal too long by 3 centimetres so it couldnt close, and by the way, the shower wasnt in a bathtub like other hotels, it was in a jacuzzi which had no jets and tiles and a shower door?? go figure!! i could keep going on all day at how terrible this place was, waste of time, waste of money and by golly that "resort" (pffft) is a waste of space!!! i stayed in a deluxe suite! which didint have internet but if i got a standard room i wouldve had internet access!! ha! cherry on the cake. Hi, The hotel is a like a supermarket, dont be surprised to see 10-15 families check-in and out at the same time ( and believe me there is a good big queue). Well if you aim to visit Genting Highlands the hotel may not be very convenient because of its connectivity, the hotel though runs a shuttle service between the Highland Hotel and Genting Skywalk, […] the frequency is extermely bad ( 1 bus every Hour). The hotel otherwise is neat and clean. Good place for someone with an interest in Golf. In a nutshell, if you are getting a good deal and no other option ( up the hill), then not a bad choice. Good hotel to stay away from the crowd of Genting. You get free passes for genting skyway & awana skyway which only runs on weekend. One drawback that they do not have king side beds . Friendly staff, good food & helpful . Resort has sport acitivites & is worth going again

从吉隆坡坐大巴到中转站，有免费巴士到酒店，前挡风玻璃那放个小牌子，写着酒店的名字，要注意看，因为字体不算大，近视的一定要戴眼镜哦！酒店有大巴到云顶，而且有时间表的，可以咨询大堂门口的服务人员。环境也还不错，我住27层，感觉很爽，硬件环境一般吧，但毕竟就是睡个觉，足够了！早餐一般般！

飯店大廳沒提供免費Wifi或商務電腦給房客使用，皆須付費才能使用，房間設施頗為老舊，燈泡、遙控器都壞掉，馬桶蓋亦有裂縫，接駁車每小時一班（倘若搭乘的房客多就必須再等一小時，頗不方便）建議行李較多較大的旅客直接選到雲頂的飯店較優
