Day's Inn suited us apart from the fact that there's no lift. On leaving we were told that there are ground floor rooms, so we may book one on our next trip to the UK.

"You Get What You Pay For"
The Rose Marie is at the value end of the spectrum; cheap and not so cheerful. I was underwhelmed with my single room in the attic. Kevin the owner is amiable and his full Irish breakfast is the saving grace of the establishment. It will keep you going all day. "A hidden gem! Highly recommended."
An absolute gem of a hotel. It's located right near the centre of Peterborough, so it's perfect for getting around. The rooms were clean and tidy and had a homely feel. The landlord was absolutely lovely! He made my stay. I received a very warm welcome, the breakfast was delicious (albeit ENORMOUS, so dont expect to need to eat for the rest of the day...) "A breakfast to DIE for!!!"
Working away from home can be a pain but I was made extremely welcome and the breakfast - well, what can i say - DON'T EAT OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE!!! very well cooked and loads of it - contractors heaven. I found this guest house suited my needs of an inexpensive place to stay for 2 nights very well. It's within easy walking distance of Peterborough's main shopping area and coach & train stations. The room was well appointed with TV, kettle, microwave and fridge. All of which would suit someone staying longer or wishing to self-cater. The legendary full […] English breakfast didn't disappoint (although it was more than I could manage!) The only downside for me was that a lot of builders were staying there as well and they were up quite early in the day for work. Most were quiet and respectful of other guests, a couple were less so. The owner of this hotel is a lovely man and very helpful. He runs the place on his own but it is in a dreadful state. My bedroom had holes in the wall where a headboard should be. The shower was so disgusting I couldn't use it. The paint work was filthy and in poor condition. The kettle should be thrown away as it was appalling. But to be fair, the […] dear man had problems with getting cleaning staff and I'm afraid it showed. The other guests were working men and obviously paid less than I did. Certainly not 3* rating.
