Hotell Courtyard Newark Downtown - Newark

Was here for new years with some friends, it's in the "heart" of Newark, close to both broad street and penn station, perfect if you want somewhere to stay at outside of NYC and still make it worth the money. Room was perfect, security and staff were awesome! Amazing place! Worth every dime.

I threw my empty cigarette package in the garbage and they charged my CC $225.00 plus tax!!!! I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and will let everyone know they were rude and unprofessional!!!!

For whatever reason, there seem to be a lot of negative reviews about this hotel. We decided to stay there because it was close to the PATH train and was offered at an affordable price. This hotel is right in the middle of Downtown Newark, and is a breeze to get to. There is also a health food store that offers fresh juices next door to the hotel. The PATH train to the World Trade Center is a short walk of about 10 minutes. As for the actual room itself, the beds were very comfortable and well appointed. Both my wife and I sleeped well during our stay. Even though our room faced the street, the noise from the road was barely noticeable. The staff was friendly and accomdating. The only thing that could be improved is the parking. The garage is not directly connected to the hotel, so the process of loading and unloading of luggage is not as smooth as it should be. Läs mer

Very clean and convient to prudential center. Would defintley book there again. Make sure the parking attendents know that you are staying at the hotel or they will try to charge you a lot of extra Money.

Great Hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms. The old drawn back was, the walls were paper thin, you could hear call conversations from the next room. When I called to make reservations inquired if parking was free. Customer Service placed me on hold then was told no charged for parking. Upon checking in the cost of parking was $21.00. The hotel was nice, clean room, however parking is a problem, streets were close do to concert and no help on parking from the staff, I think the hotel should have valet parking. I will never stay ther egain.

Our stay at this hotel was amazing. Sign in was simple and quick. We had a great room to stay in and were able to get to and from Prudential center completely fine even though we'd never been before. It was a bummer that we had to pay for parking additionally, but thats because the hotel doesn't have their own lot, but it wasn't too much I guess ($20/night). […] It was a little annoying that the window couldn't be opened. They had air conditioner in case it got warm, but there's nothing better than a cool breeze coming from the window. Anyway, would DEFINITELY tell everyone that's going to a prudential center event that this is the place to go. My boyfriend and I were completely drunk and we managed to find the hotel anyway. Good hotel for quick trips and in and out of Downtown Newark. It seemed like many of the business travelers around me agreed. Close to Newark Penn and thus easy access to Newark Airport and trains to NYC. Good room rate, as well.

Hotel has onsite dining facilities which was good but a little pricey. Garage is shared by the NJ Devils, which made parking time consuming on game night. Otherwise, a good value.

Hotel was great! Very clean and EVERY staff member was friendly and helpful. Will most definitely stay at this hotel again. Was there for a Devils game with my family and it is a perfect location for any event at the Prudential center.

Hotel was new. Everything new and clean. Service was great. Neighborhood not so great. Police Sirens up and down street all night. Would not feel safe walking anywhere after dark.

Based on the hotel location, they should have sound proof windows. Heard everything with room facing Broad Street. Along with every conversation my neighboring rooms had. The parking is horrible, paid $21 a night for parking. I will not visit this hotel again.

If you are going to the Prudential Center you will not find anyplace more convenient- the hotel is connected by a walkway- room was clean and comfortable, staff was polite and accomodating- neighborhood is nothing to write home about however...actually, it is pretty bad.- couldn't even find a place Sunday morning that sold a newspaper!! We had to call down to the front desk twice to complain about the room next door, where the guest was clearly having a party. Finally around Midnight we could get some sleep. I was surprised by this since, I read when we checked in that the Hotel had a policy against parties in the room. This clearly was not enforced by the personnel on staff.

Great hotel & very clean. Only issue I had with my room was that it did not have a fan in the bathroom. Very odd. Also, the neighborhood is not the best and the cab drivers at the train station never wanted to take me to my hotel. I can only speculate that they were waiting for a larger fare. All said, a much cheaper alternative to NYC.

Also a nice place to stay if you're in town for a sporting event at the Prudential Center. There's really nothing in the area, but we did find a nice spot to eat; Dinosaur Ribs. But the hotel itself was beautiful, comfortable, and the rooms were roomy. Would stay there again.

I had high expectation for this hotel, since it was a brand new hotel that opened up a few months ago. But it wasn't as great as i had imagined. The hotel front desk staff weren't nice and cheerful at all, they couldn't even pull a smile on their face, seemed like they hated their jobs. There's completely no restaurants in the nearby area, nothing that […] is in walking distance. The walls of the hotel rooms are really thin, you can hear every word that people are saying next door, babies crying, doors slamming when people enter and exit their rooms. Not a great experience at all, when after walking around NYC for the whole day, you just want a good night sleep. The parking garage was another nightmare, although it is located directly behind the hotel, there is no direct access to the hotel. It was a nice room with one exception. For some reason the wall vent acted as a speaker for some other rooms activity. During the day a person doing business could be heard loud and clear, to include his anger at the person he was talking to. This lasted all day, only to be followed by 2 persons having sex in a very extatic fashion during the night. We […] reported this to the front desk in person. They sent someone from maint. We were in Newark to see The Rolling Stones on Dec. 15th (lucky me)! The hotel was within a short walk to the Prudential Center, which was perfect. Hotel staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We also used the airport shuttle which was very convenient.

Wonderful new hotel with friendly staff. Everything is well kept and clean. My only criticism is lack of some amenities, particularly room service. Restaurant isn't great, either,but everything else is great. Location across the street from the Prudential center is awesome.

Amazing hotel. Very new and very well designed. Stayed in three different hotels in Newark. Marriott is by far the best that I have stayed in. The Lobby is a great place to relax with great food available from the restaurant. The rooms are a large and very well designed. The shuttle service is also great when they drop you off at the airport the drop […] you off right at your gate. Not like the other hotels which drop you off at the shuttle service and you have another 20 minutes to walk to your gate. Great stay. Definitely my choice for downtown Newark. Here - need I say more - extremely unfriendly workers, hairs (not head hair either) all around the toilet seat, bathroom floor and shower walls, dried urine at bottom front of toilet bowl, room for 4 people (2 queen sized beds) that had 1 decaf tea bag, 1 regular tea bag, 1 decaf coffee pod, 1 regular coffee pod, and 1 condiment package. REALLY???? […] Try not to stay in at this hotel in Newark - that is my best advice. Hotel would be nice if you could pick it up and move it somewhere else with friendly employees who did their jobs. The hotel is near the airport. Once you get there the check in is fast and the staff is nice. Rooms are clean, complimentary hi speed internet in the room. Free shuttle to the airport and train station. Overall experience was very pleasant.

Stayed just a short time but the staff and accommodations still made a big impact. Every employee was friendly and courteous, from the driver who drove the complimentary shuttle that picked me up at the airport, to the security guards, to the front desk staff and even the maid, who besides greeting me, insisted on showing me right to my room when I […] got to my floor. We had an awesome stay; rooms were great with comfy beds, nice hdtv, mini fridge and the bathroom was a nice size. Nice professional bistro style restaurant downstairs, but its not open all day. The parking isn't included, and it's a multi level garage with no direct access to the hotel. I've never been in that area before, so I didn't know it well […] but i didnt feel overly safe walking around the block to the hotel at night. They have a shuttle that runs every hour to the airport. We used a taxi but it was an inexpensive ride to Newark airport. This hotel is just built, less than a month old.
