The trip was a getaway weekend with my wife and infant son. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was outstanding as well. We noticed a smoke smell the last morning of our stay in the room and hallway. Not sure if it was a ventilation issue but we were leaving so didn't ask. Also be aware there is no free parking. The Hampton Inn was a great place to stay when exploring downtown. The staff was friendly, the rooms clean, and the lobby was very nice. Some construction going on around the hotel made it a little hard to get around, but I never heard any of the noise.

The location is great being so close to 6th street. We were able to rely on our bikes to get us around most of Austin. The breakfast each morning was delicious, but a hassle since it ends by 10am. The valet attendants were extremely helpful and friendly. This is a great hotel for any type of Austin visitor, but be prepared to pay oodles for valet parking […] because they don't offer it for free. The hotel was nice but had issues with the house cleaning department. We had a 3 day stay and never did house keeping come to clean, and offer towels etc. We were in a already packed elevator and a maid was persitant in bringing her self and a over flowing trash cart. we had to ride with this and was quite discusting. Compared to other hotels we have stayed in this one had a cozier & quieter feel to it. Also, the hotel was affordable comfortable, clean, and convenient... great location w/in walking distance to many attractions, shopping, and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Manager's Happy Hour from 5-6:30p was absolutely wonderful! Lovely patio on the 2nd floor to enjoy complimentary beer, wine and snacks. Clean, friendly, quick valet service. Pool is a little small, but sufficient for cooling off. Within walking distance to tons of great restaurants/bars/Rainey Street. We were very pleasantly surprised!

Staff was great and location of hotel is excellent. The bathroom is not up to my preferred standard but the bed was very comfortable and overall we were very satisfied and would definitely stay there again.

We loved the room and the location. The staff were very friendly. The only problem we had was that the bed was very noisy, but everything else was perfect. The room was spotless. Valet is on the high side, but I'm sure all other hotels have the same issue being downtown.

We checked into the Hampton not knowing quite what to expect with our downtown hotel. The staff was especially friendly and went out of their way to help us find the concert venue as well as a competing hotel where we had planned to meet friends for happy hour. We've stayed at this location twice. Great value for the price. This hotel is in a great location. Just a couple blocks walking distance from 6th Street and other downtown fun. The staff is very nice and accomodating. Our room and bathroom were very clean and updated. For a first time in Austin, the location of this hotel was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere and there were plenty of nearby restaurants, bars, and clubs. We stayed in a suite, which was large and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay downtown, and will stay here again the next time I visit!

We could not be happier with our stay at this hotel. The room was very nice with excellent bed linens. The breakfast was the best chain buffet breakfast ever, and the egg selection changed daily. The managers weekday wine/beer reception with appetizers was an added bonus. The location could not be better, just blocks from the 6th Street honky-tonks, […] also walking distance to the Austin City Limits venue where we attended a concert. The location is amazing. The room was huge, much bigger then some more expensive hotels. The bathroom was updated and clean. The room was also very clean. The staff was friendly, even at 1130 pm when we finally made it into town. Parking was expensive but convienent. Our only complaint was the bed. It was hard and the pillows were ridiculus. There were […] 4 small lumpy pillows. I had to bunch up the comforter to make a better pillow. Dont plan on an amazing pool, the pictures make it look way better than it is. I suggest you learn the bus routes if your traveling around the city. Taxis are pricey and take forever to pick you up. The hotel had a driver they work with but it was more expensive than the taxis. Buses are a great way to see the city. Sixth st is reasonably close yet not rt outside your window so you can sleep when you need to. On the same block there is a convience store and a tasty place to eat and drink with very a great environment and reasonable prices. We attended a UT game and would consider staying here again. We had a nice time at this hotel. The breakfast buffet was nothing really impressive but it was free. Great location to wine bars/local flavor and other bigger restaurants. Parking was over priced ($23/24hr) but convenient.

I chose this hotel mostly for its location and price compared to other hotels in the downtown area. The only things that I disliked were 1) no self-parking in the garage (it's valet parking only and $23/night) 2) the room could've been cleaner (the hair dryer had hair stuck on the vent and the duvet cover was dingy with lint balls all over it and 3) […] The pool was TINY. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for everything we planned to do (blue starlite mini urban drive-thru, barton springs pool, kayaking on lady bird lake, and nightlife). I also liked the fact that there was a complimentary breakfast buffet (even though we didn't take advantage of that... hehe) and free wi-fi. Läs mer

Booked one of the king suites for a vacation with a friend from out of town. For the price this is an excellent hotel which is located no more than 3 miles from almost everything thing we wanted to do. All the eating good eating areas are on S. Lamar and S. Congress and this hotel is within 1-5 miles of ALL of them. For everything else we wanted to […] do it was a short 15-20 minute drive. The room we were provided was very clean and well kept up. The staff was very helpful and was a pleasant surprise when the valets started remembering my name. This usually does not happen when you pay such a small amount for a hotel room. The hotel is conveniently located. Right price for the area and very friendly staff. Only issue is parking. Valet parking is the only option. Adds quite a bit to your stay.

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites for two nights. The location of the hotel was super - very close to sixth street. The reception staff were extremely friendly. Unfortunately the carpet in our room was filthy and there was a horrible smell in the corridors. The pool was also filthy but I suppose that's what you get when the pool is outdoors. […] On the last morning a very rude member of the cleaning staff knocked so loudly on our door and tried to enter - thankfully I had the inside lock on. We didnt have a wake up call ordered and this was only 8.30 in the morning so it wasnt even near checkout time. All in all, the location and staff were excellent but the carpets really need to be cleaned, asap!! Läs mer

Service was great. You'll get woken up by people coming back from 6th street drunk between midnight and 2AM but that happens at all hotels in the area. Only complaint was waking up at 8:00 in the morning because the two maids outside were talking so loud it was impossible to sleep.

Very conveniently located next to Austin hotspots within walking distance. Staff was incredibly nice and the room was very nice and comfortable. Two things that I didnt like were that the toilet in my room wasnt flushing, but I believe this might have been an isolated incident and it got fixed right away. The second was that the very expensive valet […] service wasn't very satisfactory. When I needed my car, it was never there on time and sometimes there wasnt even a valet at the podium. I had to find public parking around the building from $5-10, which is reasonable compared to the $23 for valet. Also, it might be intimidating at first to see hotels like the Four Seasons and the W on the same block, but the atmosphere at the Hampton was very genuine and friendly--something I dont know that the clientele at those other places would have. The location of this hotel is perfect. It's close enough to the action, yet also pleasantly quiet. We enjoyed the pool, although it lacked even a tiny bit of shade. It was a clean pool, and it was very quiet. The free breakfast is basic, but a great value. We had a wonderful experience!

The hotel has a great location although parking is an issue but this isn't a big deal because there's a parking lot right next to it where you can leave your car for $14 daily. The room was great however the carpet smells a little funky, maybe they need to be changed. Our king size bed was very comfortable.
